Haumea and Disney’s Moana - The Creator Goddess and the Strength of her Heart

In 2016, Disney released its film Moana and a native Hawaiian girl, Auli’I Cravalho, was set in the role of Disney’s first princess from the South Pacific. The story is set 3,000 years ago in the South Pacific where the protagonist Moana embarks upon a voyage across the oceans to fulfil a request from her ancestors. Even though the internet makes zero references to Hawaiian goddess Haumea in connection to the movie, it is quite obvious that there are plenty of similarities.
