ETHICS

This website explores Sedna, Haumea, MakeMake, Eris and other trans-Neptunian and Kuiper belt objects from an astromythological view.

These newly discovered dwarf planets are ushering epochal changes, like discovering that the abundance were within all along, not out there somewhere, where people needed to steal it from another; soul purpose.

Greek mythology is known to be the very bedrock of modern civilisation, and it is only fitting then, that many answers about our currently problems, can be found there…

We need mythology, story and legend, in order to live our lives coherently.

Allegory is a story that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one. It’s the expression of truths or generalisations about human existence by means of symbolic fictional figures and their actions. Allegory is a BIGGER PICTURE in which the characters or events represent particular qualities or ideas that relate to morals, religion, or politics that can help us understand our experiences. Social engineering is the term used for a broad range of malicious activities accomplished through human interactions. Social engineering is the art of exploiting human psychology and the tactics like manipulating, influencing, or deceiving a target in order to gain control. All of the trans-Neptunian objects carry strong polarities, that are described on this website as higher and lower expressions.

Eris, Sedna, Haumea etc. in Astrology and the Ethics of Pioneering Work

There are standards and codes of conduct that some professional astrologers follow around the world, in order to provide a valuable service to clients. There are also organisations who promote and encourage ethical standards, practices, and behaviours in the field of astrology. I am not associated with any of them, because I have little desire to provide personalised astrological readings (at this time), yet I have been studying astrology intensely for over a decade. I did complete two and a half years of professional study, with an astrologer who is a Federation of Australian Astrologers (FAA) member and a teacher. I was encouraged to write the FAA exam, but declined, as it is not a career path I desired to follow at the time.

The Nature of New Planets to our Consciousness

When the existence of new planet come into our awareness, there is a large community of astronomers and others who take a keen interest, who decide on the new status and name of a planet. There are structures and procedures in place for these things, yet nothing prevents someone like myself, to create a website where pioneering ideas about a particular new planet, is explored. Eris by design is the planet of discord and strife. In her book Alison Chester-Lambert wrote:

“There is a good and bad Eris and the whole energy is essentially about ethics and karma. The bad Eris is “lawless strife” which has no regard for others and is often seen in the animal kingdom, while the good Eris abides by natural justice and is stirred into serious and purposeful action”.

I have no desire to act in lawless strife, yet I am stirred into serious and purposeful action. The number 44 has been seriously following me around in synchronous manner for a number of years, and is only increasing in frequency. Some days I may see the number 44 on one of my clocks around the house for up to 6 times. I feel a tremendous inner calling to write these articles, and they do bring me joy to bring into being. Eris, the Great Disrupter, has an extreme orbital inclination of 44°, which is almost twice as long as it is wide. Eris is also the number of self-mastery, or embodied mastery according to Adamus Saint Germain.

Many of the TNOs also have the mutual reception of Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Uranus, which is about the high creativity originality, and being loving, empathic and industrious with a desire to help mankind. The higher expressions are often pioneers, visionaries and future thinker individuals. Eris in particular has this mutual reception with the houses corresponding as well… which is quite remarkable…

Potential Complaints or Objections

I want to bring to the reader’s attention, that should they read an article on this website, and they perhaps don’t understand or agree with the information, that they please consider the following.

Each article builds on the wisdom and information of the previous articles. It is not possible for me to broadly explain certain concepts in great detain, in EVERY single article. Please read all the information before contacting me with questions. Alternatively, use the search page and use keywords to find things of particular interest to you. I am aware of the importance of upholding integrity and social respect in astrology, and to be sensible of how the presentation of this information may impact fellow astrologers. Readers must also understand that Eris, Sedna and Haumea in Astrology are sensitive and triggering by default. Very few astrologers are willing to publicly talk about these influences, or the energies. Even though the energies of Eris and Sedna have been hugely pronounced over 2020/2021, many of the worlds most respected astrologers are very careful to dip their toes into this ‘pond’. I feel this is also due to the nature of Eris energy. Most of the information about her on the internet, focus on the negative, and ‘dark’ side. I must also conclude, that perhaps Eris is a more deeper exploration of the human psyche, than few people are interested in venturing into.

This is a highly specialised area of interest. Worth exploring though…

Respect and Dignity in Studying Astromythology

Astrology is a vast and multi-layered system. With this work I am committed to - ultimately - improving and enhancing life, while enabling human dignity and potential for personal growth, as much as possible. I endeavour to be tolerant of personal, professional differences in the astrological community, and the variety of approaches to the practice of astrology. I do not claim to be an absolute authority on this particular topic. People are invited to share their opinions with me, as this website is for the benefit and personal growth of all who explore it. I do quote and share the works of other astrologers on this website quite a bit, and I make a point of always giving credit, and linking to the original source, or their websites, where appropriate. Personally, I am very interested in other astrologers’ points of view, and I would like to keep sharing and giving credit to ideas that are not my own.

Ultimately, Eris was probably the least popular goddess in Greece. There were no temples to her and there is no record of anyone praying for her favor. All the gods and goddesses were eager to ignore and exclude her.

Despite the positive spin Hesiod put on his description of Eris, she remained a goddess that people would rather avoid. I would like to know why?

Every planet that orbits the sun has a recognised light and dark side. Even if the Greeks (in mythology) were not able to appreciate her higher expression, why should we not consider; that the 10th planet do indeed have her own kind of magic? Eris was the one goddess in the Greek world who did more than just start every fight, she was also the last to end one.

Eris transits show that it is time for something emotional, unacknowledged or buried deep, to be brought out into the light. Until you do, there won’t be an end to the strife. According to this article, Homer noted one interesting aspect of Eris; how her physical presence changed over time. The longer she remained (at war), the larger Eris became. Eris would grow until she was so large that her head brushed against the heavens and she towered over the entire earth. Homer used the personification of strife to show how conflicts changed over time. Any Eris disagreement began as a small minor matter, but the longer it went on the more overwhelming and powerful it became. When Eris appeared in any location, she was very small. She was dwarfed even by human children, and was hardly noticeable. Surely, ignorance is not bliss… Is it?

Potential Audience

There is a strong assumption that you already have some basic understanding, or exposure on the topics. This information leans towards the more advanced. I do not cater for beginners to astrology, at all. There are many brilliant western astrologers who teach the very basics, towards the more advanced, and you will find lots of free educational online resources as well. See the Recommendations Page. You will not find beginner material on this website. This website is an exploration of the topics that interest me in particular, as I experience various transits and progressions in my life, and come to understand complex matters.

I hope you can enjoy this, but if it is not for you, there are many amazing astrologers around the world.

For more information on some of the common practices that professional astrologers may abide by, see the following links:

Storytelling itself can be a bridge between indigenous and non-native community, for the benefit of all.

This is a necessary statement to make, for in understanding the energies of the newly discovered dwarf planets, we need to study these stories or myths. Katherine Florence wrote a great thesis on Inuit Sedna and the modern day connection, explaining the complexities of turning to the oral history and myth. She describes why the complexities allows for the story to shift and change, adapt and innovate to fit the expectations of the audience and the needs of the teller (Sedna's legend has many versions). Sedna’s story is thus more easily called a myth than oral history in theory because of its function as an Inuit cosmogony and how it is adapted by the storyteller in relation to the context within which it is presented. These stories are a means of conveying and recording knowledge, and cultural salience—that deal with particular concerns and fears. In modern times, Sedna has become an icon of Inuit identity and a symbol of survivance against the tides of colonialism and attempts at cultural extermination. Telling her story, through stone and ink and frame, is a way for artists to reconnect with their culture and identity as Inuk. But for the sake of astrological exploration, something for us may also be extrapolated…

Similarly, Moʻolelo are the narrative stories of the Native Hawaiian people.

These fiction and nonfiction narratives were exclusively oral at first, but began to be disseminated through writing in the 1800s after the development of the written Hawaiian language.

A 1906 book called Mo’olelo o Haumea by Joseph Mokuohai Poepoe described how Haumea became the great Akua wahine (divine feminine). Had it not been for modern experts of Hawaiian cultural traditions, and historians, and translators sharing the knowledge in english - for free, for the good of all - we would not have access to this valuable information. Kudos.

There is also the research and information that are emerging about what happened that led to the ecological decline of Easter Island and Rapa Nui.

There are many mysteries, speculation and hypothesis that are emerging, that are still holding great interest for those who wish to understand how an entire civilisation came to an end, potentially destruction by their own hand. The remaining moai statues, the wood carving of smaller figurures, and also the petroglyphs of Birdmen, and the fertility god Makemake hold great importance for scientists in different areas of study, as well as for the astrological community, in understanding the energies and how they apply to the newly discovered dwarf planet and Kuiper Belt Object, now named MakeMake.
