Eris conjunct Chiron, Out in the Cold and Abundant Blessings of the Empress
Eris is the Goddess of Discord and Strife in Astrology, and after the five exact squares to Pluto from 2020 - 2021, this orb of influence and energy will remain active until 2024. Eris transits started in earnest in 2020 and continues to 2028+ (see the bottom of this article for details). So get acquainted with the energy… it ain’t leaving soon… Eris lower expression is mental health crises.
The Eris conjunction with Chiron will be the reaction points of a seven year Yod that forms in the sky between 2022 - 2028, that will kick off at the auspicious Neptune, Jupiter, Venus in Pisces conjunction of April 2022. During this time many outer planet are in the 29th degree, aspecting each other powerfully. We are in a climate of tremendous change…
If you have a desire to understand Eris energy, you have about 8 years of intense experience currently at play, to figure it out. It may cause you to break out in a sweat, but it will be worth it, because in exploring and understanding these dynamics, and how to deal with them more effectively, it may benefit you into the future. Eris issues are the things that people don’t want to see, and they would rather be in denial over, like the fine line between love and hate, and good feelings derived from energy stealing to get an ego boost, versus looking within for genuine self-esteem. Yet these smoke and mirrors games they play, and what they hide from, are also their torture. Both Eris and Chiron are feeling, visceral and sensing of the stuffed down psychological material that can’t be ignored for much longer. Begging for acknowledgement. Both Eris and Chiron have to do with individuals being ostracised, deliberately, for being different, for triggering something in others that are unwelcome, unwanted, unloved. Yet it is the Higher Expression Chironic individual who people flock to, to seek guidance when they are in a spiritual crisis. These are often the sage mentors with the potential to offer relief, or facilitate Self-healing, due to their rich life experience and spiritual learning.

The Higher Expression Eris person is the intelligent maverick who lives on the fringe of society, and due to this unique point of view, they have insight, and is able to point the finger painfully at the toxicity, the stagnancy, the hidden drivers in the dysfunctional system, that feeds the narcissistic individuals, and self-serving establishments. Surprisingly, politicians, industry moguls, mainstream media, and other magicians, understand Eris energy well, and use it often to their advantage, against others. If you are of the general public, it’s time to get with the program. Also, to learn that if you abuse this energy, perhaps deliberately cause another imbalance, the consequences may be far-reaching as examples show… As Spiderman said: “with great power, comes great responsibility“. Eris in Aries
Transit Eris moved into Aries in 1924. Much is known on the internet about Eris’ lower vibrational experience, the discord in her heart, and how that strife, anger and rage pass negative experience to others, fuelling bickering, feuding, win-at-all-cost warmongering etc. What is less obvious, is that Eris is in pain, because she is excluded, mistreated and marginalised. Her genius go unrecognised and unappreciated, and if it is seen, some try to take advantage of her, lower her self-worth, or hate on her. Taking her good nature as an open invitation to be a complete asshole. Also, people often refuse to consider her truthful discord. In the higher expression, she has value to offer, but society at large have a preference for their denial, smoke and mirrors game playing, and unaware state. And if Eris do make them aware, they have knee-jerk reactions to her, for often, they don’t want to look at their personal shenanigans, take Self-responsibility, nor accountability. Chiron in Aries
In astrology, Chiron is often called the wounded healer, but Chiron the Centaur in Greek mythology is the wise teacher and mentor, who through his own experience of pain, suffering, being different and study of healing knowledge, is able to bring that profound wisdom to others who come to him for guidance, with a similar painful experience. In Aries, transiting Chiron’s wounding focus on the Self, related to who you are as a person, and the lack of worth felt. It’s the individuality, confidence or self-esteem that are stifled for some reason. That core feeling of worthlessness, like something is wrong and a void has to be filled. This wound may be expressed as trying to fit in, people pleasing, or being influenced by others, going out of your way to make others happy, or get even the smallest amount of praise. Perhaps there is a feeling that if you can make others happy, then you have some worth? The problem is that this is done at the expense of Self, and therein lies the problem and the lesson…
With both transit Eris and Chiron currently in Aries, ultimately, we have the opportunity at this time, to learn to stop doing things - for whatever reasons - at our own expense.
If we had been neglected, mistreated or taken for granted, by others, or ourselves, this needs to be examined.
Sometimes you need to find the courage and endurance to prioritise yourself to feel whole. Shifting into self-focus gear. Learning to stand up for your Self, doing right by your Self, taking Self-responsibility. No longer self-sabotaging. Feeling the right to experience life, and to exist. Having no-doubt. Forgiving Self and all involved, to gain personal freedom. Growing confidence in Self, and trusting Self, are great lessons that people can learn during Covid lockdown. No longer being passive, but taking an active role in creating the life that is right for you. Realising that you are indeed a sovereign being by your own right and honouring choices. And that you can create a magical life for your Self, higher expression Eris shows this to be possible. Living close to your core Self, without the baggage of an unaware life. Enjoying the quantum potentials of being true to your authentic Self… Knowing, you have the right to passionately pursue your desires, enjoy your experience here on earth, and to live close to zero point.
Gaining the clarity, being honest with your Self, seeing the truth, seeing things and situations for what they are, no longer blinded.
According to Greek poet Homer, the bloodiest battle in history, the Trojan War, went on for ten years. This is about the timeframe that Eris’s strife and conflict energy can stay active in one degree of the zodiac if you consider the following. Eris can stay in one degree of the zodiac for up to 7 years depending, unlike Pluto transits where the energy is active in one degree for up to 2-3 years depending. Pluto has an orbit around the sun of 248 years, where for Eris it is 558 years. When orbs around this one degree of the zodiac are added, one may be able to justify why Eris energy can stay active for up to 10 years… and when the Wheel of Fortune as it pertains to Eris energy is considered, this is quite plausible.
Eris lower expression energy has the potential to be extremely destructive and cause immense suffering and hopelessness, but the higher expression energy holds the potentials for alchemy and benevolent change that breaks that stalemate energy.

Transit: Eris Conjunct Chiron Dates: 2024, 2025 and 2026
“The nature of Eris in Aries can be harmful when unconscious and not understood. She can lash out in fighting words that cut like swords or hateful acts that break bonds of friendship and those we love. Of course, these emotions contain a level of danger, but if we understand this nature within ourselves, we can work through the discontent and alchemically transform.”
Eris and Chiron in Aries will start their first conjunction in 2024, and I speculate that by the time this happens, the pot may have been well stirred, and the setup of the stage will have been established.
They come within a 2 degree orb in July 2024, but make three exact aspects in May and October 2025, and March 2026.
The North Node of Fate will traverse into Pisces in January 2025, indicating that during this new year long time in Pisces, having compassion for ourselves and others will be very beneficial. In months prior, the North Node of Fate would have conjuncted both planets (Eris in November 2023, and Chiron in February 2024), shining a light on the more positive and redeeming qualities of Aries, and those planet’s expression in Aries. However in contrast, this conjunction is happening at the tail end of time that Pluto hovers at the last 29 (anarectic) degree of Capricorn. Ouch!
Pluto first enters the 29th degree on February 2023 (for one month), then due to retrograde on June 2023 (one month) and December 2023 (one month), September 2024 (2.5 months).
This may be challenging, as more of the heaviness of the evils in established institutions are revealed, that until recently had been trusted, respected and obeyed, to maintain order and provide protection and well-being in society. There is bound to be significant feelings of sensitivity and vulnerability because of this… As an astrologer,I have also noticed that those with transit Eris conjunct natal Chiron experience extreme sleeplessness during this conjunction… This conjunction will also take place while there is a tention-filled Yod in the sky with Haumea at the apex.
Transit: Pluto at the Anarectic Degree of 29° Capricorn
Astrologer Fay puts Pluto in Capricorn’s dilemma eloquently: “Past secrets and lies are unveiled, corruption is exposed, the greed, lust, tyranny and depravity of those in respected positions is unearthed. Betrayals and dirty dealings by those we have trusted to rule us come to light. Scandals break out. Those who abuse their power and position are named and shamed and their reputations destroyed as the damage and trauma they have caused others is revealed. Cans of worms are opened up, ghosts of the past present themselves, skeletons in the closet come out and smoke-screens created to hide the truth are cleared. There is a powerful urge to purge what is rotten within, to unmask the demons and exorcise evil, often through violent challenge if not destruction and death. This is a time of karma and payback, when evil-doers in powerful positions get their come-uppance.”
When a planet is at the final degree of a zodiac sign, it’s called an anarectic-, crucial-, critical degree, or “degree of fate”.
The issues at play take a desperate expression to solve the crises at hand. There is this feeling of urgency with 29 degree planets, as if time is running out. To mature. To make it. It’s the peak in completing an important phase in the human collective, (before switching to the next sign of Aquarius) which relates to Pluto’s unconscious biases and behaviours, and achieving a transformation of abuse of power of those Capricorn establishments. By nature, Plutonian individuals have a hidden urge to survive and dominate at all cost. For the sake of social status, corporate or political power, for profit, career advancement, job prestige etc.
Fay writes that: "During this period of purging, while the establishment makes its desperate last ditch attempts to conserve itself, the powers that be use all the might of their resources to defend and justify the system as it is. There is an obsession with money, material wealth and profit-making, regardless of human suffering, a ruthless defence of aspiration and ambition, regardless of the consequences, and the need for a strict hierarchy, with an emphasis on people ‘knowing their place’ and doing as their superiors dictate."
These are the coldness, selfishness, devilishness, and the desperate measures that will preclude Eris conjunct Chiron, and influence the experience of it. Pain, that the downtrodden individual, and the underdog do not matter to those with the excessive love of materialism and power.
In contrast to the sobering information above, Pluto will leave Capricorn for the very last time in November 2024, heralding in a new cycle in Aquarius that will ultimately bring a beneficial shift to society at large, rather than the small group that dominates from the top down.
Pluto in Aquarius may be seen as 20 years of levelling the playing field so that power is shared more equitably. But it is not without initial birthing and growing pains… as is evident at present…
Those who have “sold their soul to the devil”, so to speak, for materialistic gain, fame, status, attention, position, or money are getting the rewards of the bad seeds that they had sown in a previous season. Perhaps betraying principles, integrity, morality or authenticity in pursuit of personal gain. Perhaps disregarding someone or something, for another thing or person. Seeming to need those things to give them self-esteem, as they may not have any otherwise. And the sorrow of those around them, who missed out on a bountiful harvest, due to bad choices made (Eris), and the resulting spiritual breakdown. The mythology of Eris shows people squabbling over an apple, which amongst other things, is a symbol for abundance, knowledge and goodness. But instead of each of the three goddesses honouring the beauty and value of each other, they showed their greed, vanity,
envy and petty-mindedness. There was an underlying scarcity mentality, which are times when people turn on another, hoard in selfishness, and good things are ruined. Other articles on this website, illustrates that the building of healthy self-worth is done by loving one’s Self. Not via something inconsistent outside of Self, or the next big come-up or instant gratification that might be seen as potentially bringing happiness. Anything outside of Self may be your self-sabotage, or self-undoing.
Eris in Aries energy shows that this immaturity cause the collective discord of the heart, and the strife and despair that follows.
“It wouldn’t be wrong to define 29° as the “test degree” or “the degree of mastery”, “the gift”.
Anaretic degree and Nodes have similarities, both of them are related with fate, there will be situations to be examined, solved and win through. If the person does not learn what he has to learn, he will definitely experience some sort of crisis; but if he has, he will continue from this “peak” and accomplish a fateful mission. Therefore, just like the difficulties and patterns start to resolve easier in our lives, when we fully understand and continue our path through our North Nodes; the planets, cusps, and even asteroids in 29° are the indicators of where the “change” and the “transformation” will occur in our lives.”
Transit: Neptune at the Anarectic Degree of 29° Pisces
In addition to slow moving Pluto entering a critical degree, Neptune in Pisces enters 29 degrees of Pisces in May 2024 (for four months), and due to retrograde motion, again in October 2025 (for three months), leaving for the final time in January 2026. Neptune is in its domocile (home sign) of Pisces where its energy and expression is very strong. With it moving in an out of the critical degree around the same time as the Eris square Chiron, that is going to dramatically increase the sensitivity, a challenge to reality, and feeling of psychic overwhelm. Also a desire to escape into fantasy, people being tempted to feel/play the victim, and perhaps not take responsibility for their own lives…
Pluto and Neptune in the critical degrees may contribute to people feeling emotional and mentally destabilised…
We will have to develop coping mechanisms to deal with grief, pain and loss, and that includes dealing with the financial problems that are going to be huge for many in the collective.
This article describes that the combination of extreme Pluto in Capricorn and extreme Neptune in Pisces energy, is also particularly heartbreaking. "The grim reaper (Pluto) claims the vulnerable (Neptune) in society, those with ‘co-morbidities’ (Neptune) more than the healthy – though the healthy are in no way immune. It also claims the lives of those who devote their lives to helping others (Neptune). Our doctors, nurses and care workers find themselves on the front line [in reference to coronavirus] of a battle they can not win and we can only watch and wait, helpless (Neptune) in the face of something we cannot control (Pluto)."
Eris conjunct Chiron: The Many Similarities
Eris’ discovery chart shows how players, backbiters and narcissists aim to steal another’s deep emotional nourishment that may come from healthy, reciprocal relationship, with both self and others.
This is how the targeted are made to suffer… through devaluation and violation, flipping the script and turning their relationships on them… isolating them in their inner torment… The evil-spirited or diabolical wants others to feel how they feel. By attempting to cause them to self-destruct from
the inside out, through psychological warfare.
There seems to be a pattern where highly authentic and individualistic (Eris and Chiron higher expression) people are viewed as a project - to be studied, or controlled - by inauthentic individuals or groups of them…
Both Eris and Chiron is about NOT focussing on what a player has done to harm another, but the underlying energies of what caused them to do what they did.
Both Eris and Chiron have psychological wounds around being abandoned, misunderstood, stolen from, denied, disrespected, and rejected, and how we have little control over what determines our connections with people and the world. Even though it is not immediately apparent from Eris’ mythological story, both need the healing journey. Both include the roles of wounded, the victim, the perpetrator, and the one who heals, as well as the switching of characters. Both include people who are ignorant, who refuse to change, and those who have grown into enlightenment.
Both Eris and Chiron encounter people who are determined to be dark, and unwilling to change. And they need to learn to set boundaries with those who want to indulge in the antagonist/protagonist dynamic, employing the narcissism of the mind to control and subdue.
The principal idea is to learn how to stop causing imbalance, hurting others and ourselves, from a place of deep-rooted woundedness and critical spirit. It is why we tend to encounter the same type of toxic people, and unfortunate circumstances over and over again. We have to drop the denial and ignorance, to change and evolve.
Eris in Aries may feel so marginalised because who she is triggers others all the time, that she feels the need to fight for her existence, and her right to be here, to have her preference. To be allowed a place under the sun and be relevant. Both have an instinct to survive and persist despite the challenges. The story of Cinderella and her envious stepsisters is a great Eris and Chiron in Aries example; of being at the receiving end of annihilation, persecution, and no-win situations in relationships. What Eris in Aries revealed in the years prior, about the selfishness (Eris and Chiron in Aries), and abuse of those in positions of power (Pluto in Capricorn) may now be keenly felt by both the collective and individuals.
We will have to guide ourselves through the stages; the shock, resistance, withdrawal and even the refusal of this pain. In both the mythology and birth chart of Eris, her and Pluto’s destinies seem intertwined. Both in the brutality and abuse of power against Eris. And in her healing, transformation and Self-empowerment in the relation, ultimately resulting in her devotion to Self, emotional maturity, coming into her flow, and radiant higher expression.
Eris seem to be intimately familiar with the experience of the Chiron wound as well, for the exclusion and marginalisation she experiences from the status quo, causes her intense feelings of pain, and takes her through both the stages of intense anger and grief, in order to rebalance. Like Chiron, Eris’ trauma and wounds are also deeply felt, and often barely scabbed over, but not truely healed. If a person is still triggered, then there is still pain, perhaps festering until a significant Eris transit comes along, and like lava seeking the path of least resistance, out comes pouring the discombobulating anger that surprises everyone.
Both Eris and Chiron also carry themes of toxicity in their stories, and how important it is to be aware, and not getting overwhelmed by toxicity, in Self and in relationship; putting your own life in order. It’s our

deepest pain, buried in the core of our hearts. When Chiron moves through the universe, it reveals what is broken in our society: Aries in this case.
Equality is another commonality: frienemies, foes, petty Bettys, brats, misogynists, narcissists, and those who lack integrity in polite society may look down on them both, not seeing their value, and what they have to offer, perhaps mocking them, hating on them, or disadvantaging them in some way. Agents of the devil attempting to get them to compromise their integrity, self-worth, or allow themselves to be controlled. To be corrupted by another’s influence. Breadcrumbed. Both Eris and Chiron suffer some abuse, closed-mindedness or experience being used by those who think they have social license to pick on them, steal from them, or discredit them. Both having to endure some unfairness, injustice, backstabbing, and people who want to kill them emotionally and mentally, and leave them “for dead”. Both having to learn to allow the heart to be broke and cracked open, for the inner light to emerge, and the development of inner strength. And ultimately, a resurrection of a new Self, like Christ rising from the dead at the Last Judgement. (The bible has an astonishing amount of Eris stories in it.)
Both Eris and Chiron initially struggling to find their way in the world, because they are perceived as not fitting in with the social structure of control… thus the backbiting.
Ironically, their rejection by others, ends up being their freedom to go their own way, to be who they really are, despite the grief of it at times… Both may ultimately learn the art of willing release and breaking free from chains that would otherwise bind.
Both are independent by nature, intuitive, maverick. Rebels speaking wisdom that may be hard for the ignorant to hear, and neither want to go with the crowd. In the higher expression, both may be mature, evolved, peaceful and sage beyond their years, drawing from the fruits of the soul.
Both higher expression Eris and Chiron know their value, their values and their worth. They are in healthy feeling and sensing. They see things for what they are. Clarity.
This is why both tend to prefer being in their own secluded worlds, living in communion with a higher Self. And to live outside of the bounds and norms of society, helps them see the value of good character, authenticity, divine flow, and affords them a strong understanding of energy. They see the patterns in life and may have mystical knowledge others may not be able to comprehend, because they have allowed growth in their life. These people deeply understand human nature, motivations and may have compassion for them, yet may not be willing to tolerate that nonsense at the same time.
Both Eris and Chiron higher expression people feel called to help those who are less fortunate, or in need, however, they may have had to learn to temper their compassion, for not everyone who needs help, is deserving of it… Some selfish people may think that Eris and Chiron higher expression people turn their noses up at them, but it is because the smell fake energy from a mile away… They may realise that one sided relationships, are relationship not worth having…
Eris and Chiron understand Narcissism, Misogyny and Envy Deeply
Both Eris and Chiron have a deep exposure of, and innate understanding of narcissism and diabolical players. Look at the symbolism in the image.
Chiron’s comprehension is obvious and simple. Chiron is a mythological Centaur; the top half is man and the bottom stallion. Although Chiron might look like the other Centaurs, he is nothing like them. Due to his innate woundedness, he knows not to give in to that lower nature, instead being in the higher expression; wisdom. Centaurs in mythology were known for indulging in their lower animalistic nature; drinking, fighting, causing trouble, disregarding others etc. Also, the star sign Sagittarius is known for its potential for either lower appetites vs higher Self. Chiron understood the benefits of rather being a misfit, than a brass piece of shit… that hurt other people.
In Eris’ discovery chart, a conjunction of Venus/Mercury/Pluto in Sagittarius in the ninth house, lends Eris a very deep understanding, and deep distaste, for narcissism, see this article for details. Why? Because narcissistic admiration-whores want all the rewards of another, for themselves (just like Snow White’s stepmother who wanted the sole admiration of the mirror, and was willing to kill to keep it).
The Overcoming Ability of Higher Expression Eris and Chiron
This is what IRKS the enviers, backbiters and pretend-friends.
These people go through a great deal of trials, tribulations and challenges to reach this state. They work through their fears, tears, failures, and travel long roads of trial and error. They experience great losses and failure, yet persevere, to do what they want to do anyway. Unstoppable and dedicated, despite great odds. They focus on themselves and they grow and flourish because of it. They fill their own cup. They don’t indulge in unforgiveness, instead, letting it go. They are able to work their way through any scenario and this is what irks pretend-friends, pretend-supporters, haters, frienemies and foes. It is their overcoming ability, and “turning lead into gold” manifesting ability, that makes people turn against them and be deceitful, because the happiness-haters do not have these qualities; giving up easily at the first sight of a hurdle. It irks them greatly that they cannot compare. Which is why they are so focussed and obsessed on these people. Yet, the immature are not willing to do the work to grow… they are not willing to focus on themselves, nor look within. They cannot grow, overcome, nor manifest, because their focus is not where it is supposed to be… on themselves… This is the problem.
Eris conjunct Chiron: Oversensitive and Visceral Experiences
Now that the common similarities have been explored, we can look at the deeper expression. Emotional enmeshment, coercion, corruption, pettiness and devastation.
Both Eris and Chiron, through their highly challenging experiences due to their unique being that trigger others in relation, learn to become experts at alchemy; turning the mundane into the marvellous.
It is through them reaching their own emotional healing, their own clarity, that they become like light, invariably attracting others like a moth to a flame. When they have reached this higher frequency state, opportunists may try to trap them, corrupt them, or move into an environment, where they can feed off of their positive energy, like an energy vampire. The Eris Keywords and Overview page details a whole range of unhealthy, dysfunctional, co-dependent and toxic patterns that ‘play’ between people in polite society. Those cat and mouse games, which are a series of cunning manoeuvres designed to thwart an opponent. This, Eris and Chiron individuals in the higher expression may eventually develop an acute distaste for. This is why those who are attracted to them, like a moth to a flame, may approach them with stealth antics to butter them up, disguises, illusions, false pretence, projection, BS, or sneakiness, or worst case, forceful acts like spells or black magic, which are all unwanted energy exchanges. To flip the script on… Perhaps consumed with a materialistic, selfish gain.
Eris: The Visceral
In previous articles, Eris’ visceral experiences involving shock, dirty dealings or traumatic experiences in relationship have already been explored. The story of Persephone describes a young maiden who had been enjoying the ardent protection of her mother. Suddenly snatched. Ruthlessly abducted and forced to the Underworld of Pluto. It’s the story of her fright and terror in a moment, and her realisation that her life will never be the same again. And having to cope with sudden, new experiences, trauma, and having to use other senses and intuition to “survive”. And also being at the centre of a calculated power struggle and an entanglement between two hostile people. Which are: the specific aspect, how comfortable you are with navigating hurt and other touchy emotions, how willing you are to take responsibility for what you feel, and not wait for others to make you feel safe or save you from your pain, and if you’re committed to allowing your awareness of unhappy energies and emotions in others and in the world around you, to unfold and deepen.
In this case, both Eris and Chiron are deeply feeling, sensing and emotional planets and their fusion, in an astrological conjunction aspect, will challenge everyone in the collective to open their hearts and feel the sensitivity and vulnerability, and allow the experience of it.
Both Eris and Chiron involve an element of acute emotional oversensitivity.
Tom writes that "Chiron in transit seeks to activate your emotional and energetic sensitivity, which will involve opening you to more vulnerability and, possibly, activate the childhood wound of rejection you likely still carry. Before you realize that it’s about you and your own healing, you may notice others’ issues – pain, suffering, insecurities, inability or unwillingness to grow up, rejection fantasies, confusion over how to deal with their feelings, poor energetic and emotional boundaries, etc. – more, as well as more acutely."
Eris conjunct Chiron in Aries has the potential to be a time of extreme sensitivity, and more revelation of harsh truths, that people may have been unable to learn during the Eris square Pluto time period.
With Eris and Chiron conjunct in Aries, I think we may see and feel wounding, around those selfish, immature people who don’t want to grow up, who would rather be in denial and scapegoat others. Lowering the self-esteem of anyone who, in comparison, put’s a spotlight on the shortcomings, flaws, vulnerabilities and inadequacies they feel. Eris rules those repressed discombobulated emotions that rise to the surface, and Chiron those wounds that just won’t let up.
As a point of contention between Eris and Chiron, Chiron’s intent may be to open old wounds to release the toxins so the wound may heal. Where Eris’ intent may be to reopen them, to irritate the wound, so that it remains raw, thus preventing healing. Or worst case, fuel the flames of anger, spite or vengeance, becoming further removed from a balanced state. The choices we make, really do determine our life.
Eris Points Out Valuable Growth Opportunities
Astrologer Makayla Davis, recently wrote a beautiful article about an Eris experience that happens to each one of us, at some point in our lives. Where we are deliberately excluded, left out in the cold, to feel insecure, and the pain that this creates in the heart.
With this state of being alone, comes anger, and a rage, that if fed and watered, can turn into a significant emotional war. This is what Eris went through, which is why she has a warm heart for the disenfranchised; she understands their experience of being sacrificed and thrown under the bus. Makayla mentions the story of the Judgement of Paris, in which Eris felt she had the right to provoke the shadow qualities that the phony gods
and goddesses of society, were so happy to be in ignorance of. Eris threw a Golden apple marked “for the fairest” into a wedding crowd. Hera, Aphrodite and Athena started a squabble over who was the most worthy of this prize. The three were highly competitive over the superficial status of being the most beautiful, throwing a fit over deciding who was the fairest. This immature competitiveness, had many far-reaching consequences. As usually is the case with the foolishness occurring during an Eris transits. In this case, it led to the Trojan War, in which many lives were lost.
All because Eris wasn’t invited to the party, because others could not handle her truthful discord. Choosing denial and unawareness instead as their preference…
“Eris was the Greek mythological goddess who pointed out issues that were already there, especially to those who remain ignorant of their personal flaws.
She will reveal if how you are acting is beneath your character, self-sabotaging or if shadow sides needed exposure to help the emotional and psychological evolution of the soul evolve.”
Makayla also explains why it is so important for society to understand Eris’ story, and her role in the birth chart, in order to be better equipped to handle life moving forward. Eris energy will be pronounced in our consciousness from 2020 - 2028, so in one form or another, we are going to experience, and have to interact with her energy. Makayla writes that if you make right choices:
“You will be able to harness this warrior-like energy that’s both compassionate and empowering, challenging your insecurities instead of becoming a victim and pointing the finger at someone else.”
Growing Up and Maturing: It’s time!
Eris and Chiron in Aries will ask that childish, immature, superficial people without substance, who are not willing to do the work, grow up. That those who want to maintain a tight toxic grip on another, stop… and think about the far-reaching consequences for individuals and the collective, when forceful trauma-bonding is employed to gain a hold on another.
Everyone is subjected to these collective energies currently at play, even if you don’t have any Aries planets in your birth chart, or progressed planets conjunct Eris/Chiron. By combining the lessons that Eris teaches us, and combining it with the positive qualities of Aries, one can work towards that positive Eris and Chiron in Aries expression. Trusting in Self as a sovereign being, integrating and growing in emotional maturity.

When all is said and done, it is clear that despite all of the bad behaviour by polite society to disadvantage those with strong Eris or Chiron energy, it is clear that the collective do seek the wisdom, teaching, and maverick these people hold. It is a relationship in which the Eris/Chiron individuals are often put at the short end of the stick and put through many trials unfairly, due to the nature of human relation, insecurity, lack of self-esteem and over-emphasis on ego mind. Yet ironically, this is also the School of the Hard Knocks of Life that shape them. Some evolve, mature and move up in life, and some stay in kindergarten. By choice. As the entire human collective will be experiencing the Eris conjunct Chiron aspect for about four years, those with the wisdom, teachings and ability to show new potentials, are going to be needed more than ever… And those who are experiencing difficulty with the energy, are going to have to become willing to get real with the psychological exploration of Self, stop with the pretence, take responsibility for their lives, and perhaps transform through the Dark Night of the Soul experience this may bring about for some. No human being are immune to these experiences, that are part of the human condition.
It is not the role of the Eris or Chiron individual to coddle and continually nurture those brats who refuse to face their issues, learn their lessons, who refuse to change, who refuse to make right choices. Nor to clean up the mess, or pick up the pieces of what had been destroyed.
The title of this article hints at putting valuable people out in the cold. Why does this happen in society? People put others down and cause instability in their life, so they can feed their own ego, or get a feed through energy stealing, or feel better about themselves. Why? They may not have genuine self-esteem… so any superficial ego boost will do… Or are simply agents of their own unawareness. Or they get paid to ruin another’s career, relationships, or life path…
During Eris transits, immature individuals are triggered by those around them who activate the knowledge about themselves, that they don’t want to see. And stressed to the degree where they may see the person who had nothing but nurtured them, as an enemy.

Learning the hard-earned Wisdom
from Persephone, the Empress of Light and Dark
The Eris square Chiron transit, and the energy around it, reminds of the mythology of Persephone, (which is an Eris story).
In which she was challenged in freeing her Self from what is toxic and painful to her, and stepping into Self abundance.
Choosing not to be part of toxic (work) cultures, or selfish, self-serving individuals in positions of authority. Letting go of the need to be recognised as a sovereign being that is in control of Self, and being that anyway.
Not allowing individual integrity to be compromised.
Allowing loyalty to Self first.
Allowing this long struggle, to regroup, reground. Giving up the fight against the world. Allowing permanent change to set in, and for fortune to turn in her favour. Also, as the wheel of fortune turn against those, who are against her finding her liberation, autonomy, and Self-empowerment.
Persephone ultimately gained the Empress ability to bend the will of the power-mongers around her, and call out the unacceptable behaviour as truth. And ask for a correction, of what is not right.
In turn, the ‘heroic move’ of abuse of power, that previously provided satisfaction, glory and many pats on the back, now stinging like hell for the masculine. Having to bite his tongue, swallow his prideful words, and restrain himself, in favour of her, so that the relationship can come together. Having previously had a forcefulness due to a title or position, enforcing a my-way-or-the-highway attitude, now catching himself and looking at his fallacies.
With dominant ruffled feathers, he had the idea that he was in the right, now realising that that glory will have to be released. Allowing the questioning of his choices, his arrogance, his leadership skills. Was he doing the right thing? Is there something he doesn’t know? How does he strategise and move forward, while feeling humbled and deflated? How does he allow the emotional seriousness, and the wisdom of what she had said? How does he allow humility, correction, and a moving forward? How does he allow his own betterment, and growing of strength? How does he allow the bowing down to her wisdom? Allowing the bending of the dominance, to her will, which is the right thing to do… for evolution.

In Persephone’s mythology, Pluto is an authoritarian figure. Invariably taking the role, providing the potential for corruption. Yet in relation, also being a catalyst and providing potential for development of strength of character, love of Self and integrity in Persephone. Providing uncomfortable growth inducing environment, for the potential for her to free herself from what had bound her.
Potential and being core authentic Self, after all, is Eris higher expression… and healing, inner strength and wisdom, Chiron higher expression.
Beautiful Persephone, is glorious in more ways than one… The blessings of wisdom bestowed after the release of burdens and pain to the soul, are worth much more than gold…
Eris, Total Change, The Empress and Her Blessings
Multiple articles on this website as listed above, describes how Eris transits bring loss, perhaps on multiple levels, and potentially the total destruction of one’s old life. And how that beautiful release, enduring the purification by fire, or the psychological death of the old, may clear the way for new potentials.
During the Eris conjunct Chiron transit, people are likely to feel consumed by emotions, and they may have to allow themselves to feel and sit with it for a while. Their pain and sorrow is what turns the focus within, where reconnection with the Higher Self can be established. But then, eventually, one has to move on with this newly rediscovered sense of Self, let the judgements go, and use the guillotine to cut off from the past experience, and the inner turmoil.
The experience of moving through the aforementioned journey successfully, having nurtured Self, may bring a person into Empress energy. The Empress card in the Tarot, shows a wise, kind, loving, empathic, motherly and nurturing woman sitting in her abundance. She is a woman who has seen it all, faced many trials and tribulations in her life, and it developed and matured her; into the most powerful woman in the Tarot deck. The Empress is very stable, confident, and secure in her core Self.
Whatever bricks people may have thrown at her, she used it to build an empire. Turning her pain into power. Passing the tests, for her levelling up.

Whatever bullying, betrayal, persecution… the transformation of those experiences may turn a person (male or female) into embodying the Empress energy. She is the energy of the divine feminine; standing firm, fertile, strong, always able to regenerate her Self, and regain her Self. This is not a title, but an unshakable state of being.
She’s the divine feminine, who have become redeemed, having risen above her challenges, problems, insecurities and trauma, and became transformed. Trading trauma for the inner treasure of wisdom.
Wish fulfilment, and the world is hers, and she is pregnant with potentials. Everything she touches turns to gold, so to speak. Opportunities, offers and manifestations come to her life. The end of an Eris transit, is the season for reaping the rewards for hard times. Those who have done the work, learnt all the lessons, and yet stayed soft, kind and pliable, may hit jackpot. It takes a great deal of strength to remain soft after being done dirty. There are many people who experience horrible things, yet they are able to heal and remain open-hearted, not becoming like those who hurt them. Not everyone can carry the Empress energy, because it takes reaching great maturity in life, and having overcome a vast amount of challenges. And allowing the growth.
Having grown a thick skin for the shenanigans of this world.
Being able to smell bullshit a mile away. Knowing to show gold-diggers, narcissists, enviers, haters, mean girls, players, saboteurs, manifestation blockers, bullies, trolls, and opportunists the exit. Escorting them out, and closing the door on them. Invite only. The past experiences were needed to sharpen the discernment of the Empress; knowing what is divine, and what is of the darkness.
Telling these people a clear NO isn’t mean, it’s wise.
It’s not being stuck-up or naive, it is necessary.
Why? Personal experience of Eris in negative expression shows that they are there to hide behind a mask, with hidden agendas, to sabotage, derail or destroy your goodness. Selfish. Out to take a gain and advantage, again…
The Empress is the Prize. She knows her worth. Feminine grace, flow and glow.
Mystical. Knowing. It’s experiences that gave her wisdom and character development. These are the prizes from the soul.
And all those who had rejected or spurned the Empress will feel the effects of their folly, because they had the opportunity to share in the abundance, and they declined with their shenanigans. The end of Eris transits are times of seeing the fruits of your labours, and the seeds that you had planted in previous seasons. When people are being rewarded for previous efforts, for endurance, strength, good deeds, and unwavering faith. Many people were greatly tested by their adversaries, but if you don’t lower your Self to their level, and continue to be a good person, there is rewards.
Reaping what you had sown. Hard work paying off after completing old cycles and going through the preparation, which was never meant to break you, but bring you wisdom and blessings.
You either have fortune or misfortune on your side, all depending on your state of being a good person in the past, or not. All those people living in unawareness/darkness - who had choices - and had been trying to distract you from receiving your blessings, will have to accept the harvest they they had sown for themselves.
Judgement = Clarity
It is a person’s high self-worth, the confidence and joyful self-expression, and what that triggers in people, that may have started this whole Eris battle in the first place.
Coming out of denial, and becoming aware of the Narcissist/Empath dynamic, and how to live with it, is very important.
What does the ego mind, the negative entities, Zeus, Paris etc. hate most of all? People who elevated above them into a stable, abundant and joyful life. This is why the character assassins target innocent people they envy.
