Eris Who is the Fairest? Blocking Love and Hope from the Blessed, and Rising from Ashes of Ruin
This is part 11 of a series of articles about Eris Greek Goddess of Discord and Strife in astrology that looks at the projections of the covert, to blame and shame the innocent and full of vitality to destroy their happiness. It’s about the deeply focussed stalker attempts to dim another’s light or originality, by surreptitious attacking and cutting them painfully off from society, making false statements, stealth gossiping, and sly slandering, which is what happened to Eris; to isolate her and cause her fall from grace. This article looks closer at PROTAGONIST Helen of Troy/Sparta, who was the bone of contention in many disputes due to her exceptional beauty and vibrancy. It’s about a sneaky antagonist interjecting themself in an established situation by design,
forcing a choice in love through duplicity, projecting fallacy, defeat, isolation and being the heartbreaker that caused pain energy through control. It’s about manipulating vitality, everlasting love, spiritual energy, emotional contentment, aesthetic and joy in situations where there was happiness, to create distress, negativity, and no compromise. Why? To be the SMUG / SATISFIED blessing blocker that keep people apart, thinking it’s funny that others are TRIGGERED by their clandestine DEMOTION OF STATUS actions, and creation of false appearances. They use abuse their authority to keep the faulty reasoning and dysfunction in place, else the spiritually bankrupt cannot energy feed on this joy disruption suffering dynamic anymore and then be all played out.
Eris is about being the sacrificial lamb so that a narcissist can claim a good reputation… It’s about needing the envied to be in the same delusional energy as the antagonistic envier, for the success of an evil scheme… It’s about the desire to destroy another’s good time, by turning love and relationship into a battlefield.
A narcissist attach themselves to successful people, to prop themselves up through them, then dethroning them at a pivotal moment for an ego gain. This is why empires fall, because the ego gain is the goal, not the happiness of thousands of people who are part of the empire and depend on its success.
This article about multiple ANTAGONISTS AGGRESSIVELY FORCING THEIR WILL, to create chaos around another’s happiness, wanting to block their spiritual blessings, effervescence and exuberant vitality and also looks at the marginalised rise from the ashes of ruin, cleansed, renewed and grand indeed; anew and being an overcomer, having ascended in high energy frequency, despite the deliberate campaign for total ruin. This HIGH ENERGY, SPARKLE WITH GUSTO AND DYNAMISM is what pissed the antagonist off in the first place, that they tried to demolish, and felt convinced that they had totally blocked the come-up for the protagonist…
This article looks at the hypothetical Uranian trans-Neptunian object Cupido, and asteroid Hera in Eris’ discovery chart as they make a significant conjunction with Mars, Varda, Ixion and others in the 8th house, and the stealing of relationship, innocence and esteem for the benefit of a superficial lifestyle.
It’s about what we can learn about the energy dynamics of Eris energy, in terms of what amps up the satire, toxicity, immaturity, vanity, clout chasing, and utter hopelessness to the maximum. It’s about the lunatic obsession to mess with a good person who don’t deserve to be at the receiving end of foolishness. It’s about being IRKED by another’s LIGHT, which is what SPARKED the COCKAMAMIE in the first place.
Homer’s 2800 year old poems tells the story of Eris, but things are not what they APPEAR, for the charade was put on to fool how others viewed the characters. It was sneaky Zeus that scapegoated Eris for the Trojan War, because he had planned the war with Themis to take Achilles out. Why? The shenanigans was to allay his insecurity and fears of a prediction that oracle Themis (with an M) had made, that Thetis (with a T) would bear a son mightier than his father. The Trojan War was a rouse to end the age of heroes and to make sure that Achilles fall flat on his face and be hated by everyone, due to discord stirred in his heart. Fortunately, the Greeks knew passionate and honest Achilles’ true character and motivations, and how a set of overwhelming circumstances contributed - first to his demise in esteem, then to his elevation as the ONLY EPIC HERO of the Iliad. Zeus wanted to silence Eris who saw through his scheme and falsehood, and ran a smear campaign on her name to discredit her, so that no one would believe the truth she might speak against Zeus targeting and marginalising her and Achilles.
It’s about narcissists who don’t have the genuine ardour nor inner qualities to sparkle, who want to force a shine, via the veiled come-up through another.
It’s those people who pretend to be a liberator, then use tyranny over those they claim to help; to take ownership over their life. It’s about someone who can only judge success in terms of status, money and material considerations, and cannot comprehend accomplishment on its own merit. It’s about NOT wanting those of vigour or SANCTITY to get the love, admiration and celebration they deserve, for being special or unique. It’s about not wanting things to work out for the worthy of getting it. It’s about getting immense satisfaction from HYPOCRISY, which is the practice of claiming to have higher standards or more noble beliefs than is the case, and also “the sin of pretending to virtue or goodness". These hypocrites make a MOCKERY out of the VIRTUE of people, places of things for fun. It’s wanting to win at all cost over the truth. It’s about creating STAGNANCY and endless endings where things cannot be resolved.
It’s also about the growth and the refining of one’s character through a perilous passage. It’s about the wisdom that comes at a high price after encountering bias, foolishness and injustice.
This article is about who is the fairest? Who is deserving of the apple, that stirs the discord, competition and strife?
This is important information to understand, because although Eris square Pluto’s direct five squares are over, they will be in orb until 2024. Eris will also conjunct Chiron, Jupiter and Saturn in the next few years until 2028… The energy of Uranus square Saturn’s old versus new battle will be rapping it up in coming months, but Eris transits will be prominent from 2020 - 2028+.

It would be beneficial for investigators, detectives, law enforcers, law experts, etc. to learn about these dynamics, for they are the people who will have to be the adjudicators when these dramatic events, hate crimes, and disputes between people arise, around what is acceptable social behaviour, and who is the real villain.

In a chart, Cupido is where chemistry, companionship and partnerships are the main component. This has varied implications depending on how the chart is read, from two people, to family, social relations, clubs, organisations or corporations. It’s many different kinds of partnerships, like for example creative or cooperative ventures. In Uranian astrology, there is a hypothetical trans-Neptunian planet called Cupido, and there is also an asteroid (763) called Cupido.
Both CUPIDOS seem to be highly relevant in Eris’ discovery chart. Part 10 explored the asteroid Cupido, and this article will explore the hypothetical trans-Neptunian object also named Cupido.
Cupido the Quintessential Player: Unhealthy Infatuation, Love-bombing, Narcissistic Supply and Misusing the Power of Charm and Abduction in the 8th house
Venus was the Roman goddess Aphrodite in Greek mythology.
Cupido was Roman equivalent Eros in Greek mythology.
In mythology, Venus (Aphrodite) is the mother of Cupido (Eros), however, in Homer’s Iliad they became an unholy pair. Aphrodite wins the golden apple bribe ‘for the most beautiful’ from Paris who was made adjudicator in what is called The Judgement of Paris. Aphrodite then instructed Paris to go to Troy, where she instructed Cupid to point his love arrow towards Helen (the most beautiful woman in the world), and make her fall in love with bad luck Paris. This entailed underhanded tempting (8th house) and convincing Helen that they were in love, giving her false hope for the future, and the under cover toxicity luring her into her own ruin on multiple different levels. This was a dangerous and alluring situation - with rewards and gain - but with far-reaching consequences for multiple kingdoms in Greece. The abduction of Helen was playing with fire, which is what CLANDESTINE Paris liked about the situation; to stuff the coalition of stiff Greek lords up for his own self-aggrandisement. Paris had a history and track record of creating situations through competition so that he would be the winner. Paris, then a Trojan prince, went to Sparta to claim Helen, in the guise of a supposed diplomatic mission.
Paris was starting a hostile situation with this courtship that led to war, by deliberately leading Helen astray with ‘the look of love’, but this delicate and sly affair was not meant for her ultimate upliftment, it was for her deliberate degradation, and for his EXALTATION benefit in how others viewed him.
Secretive Paris was going to destroy her DREAMS for marital bliss, peace and happiness (despite the Oath of Tyndareus), to forcefully fulfil his own fantasy, by becoming an OPINION SHAPER.
It’s the self-centred craftiness for his self-servicing, indulgence, and self-fulfilment. It’s destructive, unapologetic, alarming and a karmic pattern where the wicked like Paris don’t learn their lessons.
This entailed a DEMOTION OF STATUS and ESTHETIC, from the Queen of Sparta, to being the sidekick lover of Paris, the once rejected Prince of Troy restored. Helen had left her husband King Menelaus and child behind - under Cupido’s LOVE SPELL - to go with Paris, initiating the Trojan War CAUSE to get her back, due to the Oath of Tyndareus that obliged many kings to protect Helen’s husband from revenge and competitors. This oath came about due to a competition between her suitors for her hand in marriage that saw Menelaus emerge victorious. All of her suitors were required to swear an oath promising to provide military assistance to the winning suitor, if Helen were ever stolen from Menelaus.
According to Wikipedia, Helen was still very young when she married Menelaus, and it is probably deliberately ambiguous whether her subsequent departure with Paris was an ABDUCTION or an ELOPEMENT. The abduction is more plausible, because in her youth, Helen was first kidnapped and was confronted by harsh realities by entitled Theseus, because he and his brother Pirithous, thought that since they were sons of gods, they should have wives accordingly; they thus pledged to help each other abduct two daughters of Zeus. Helen was eventually restored to her parents, only for the situation to repeat itself after her marriage to Menelaus… Clearly, the stealth abduction is all about creating or claiming an INSINCERE INTIMACY for a self-indulgent gain. It’s skewed thinking meritocracy.
Sweet, beautiful Helen was born to shine with her enduring beauty and life force - who lit up the place where ever she went like THE SUN - but she was the unique valuable prize, political pawn, and status symbol of many insecure, greedy, self-serving and abusive men in lustful acquisition; to increase their clout and ‘appearance’ in the world.
Helen was a victim of concealed PERCEPTION INFLUENCE and FALSE SENSE OF IDEALISM, first BEWITCHED by Aphrodite (and Cupid’s arrow) who brought Paris to her to spark the attraction, and then taken and held in Troy by force. The Oath of Tyndareus was meant to protect loyal Helen and her chosen husband (Menelaus) against being driven apart by competitors’ quarrelling or retaliating, yet it did not stop opportunists like Paris, who did not take the oath…. Helen was often seen on the walls of Troy staring at the distance. Helen wan’t happy, and despite her great beauty and endurance she could not make real friends in the Trojan court (despite marginalised Cassandra) and upon seeing how dishonourable and poor of character Paris really was, she could not be content with him either. Her life force seemed sabotaged, in lack of love, and blocked by Paris’ need and greed to keep her close, FEEDING ON HER SEXUAL ENERGY, and under his indirect noxious influence, obsession and control (8th house), which was a betrayal (Ixion) to her happiness.
It’s about manipulating who is loved, admired and supported for their genuinely beautiful qualities, and doing a transfer of ‘ownership of qualities’.
Through Cupid’s arrow, hedonist Paris got to celebrate having the most beautiful, divine woman in the world fawn over him… undeservedly, and he could control her energetic liveliness, blessedness and goodness, and turn her into his TROLLOP. Paris didn’t win Helen’s admiration and dedication as a worthy partner, like an honourable man would. In fact, Paris got in her energy and after observation matched her vibration, so they would be seemingly ‘like-minded’, and this is how he got to destroy her, from the inside out. Paris wanted Helen to live with the persona he had assigned to her.
Affection thief Paris also robbed Helen of the unconditional love, respect, affection, emotional nourishment and reciprocity from genuine caring relationship that she would have otherwise received, as is typical narcissistic behaviour.
Gatekeeper Paris isolated her from other bonds and relationships, took from her energetically, and left her on emotional and unsupportive empty, like a robber (Moon in Scorpio conjunct Ceres in 7th house). His mentality was indirect smothering, by controlling her relationships and surroundings, and who can access her or come around her. He didn’t want anyone to influence her, to somehow leave him. Possessive and territorial Paris wanted a transfer of what was hers - ESTEEM, DEVOTION, EDIFICATION and LOVE - to him… Paris wanted her fulfilment from her essence, vital life force, and life blessing to become his OPULENCE, wealth, good luck charm, muse and SELF-WORTH. Lazy Paris didn’t want to work for his own rewards or esteem, but wanted energetic handouts without deserving them, to be a DRAINING energy vampire and spirituality thief. DEVIANT pretending Paris didn’t love himself, lacked morality and remorse… and possibly needed an exorcist. Confidence-theft is the goal for Eris lower expression.
The previous article has explained the extreme unhealthy situation regarding the Mars conjunction with trans-Neptunian objects Ixion and Varda. It’s a story of magnetism, the dance of courtship, and entwining energies. It’s the forming of emotional bonds, sharing energetic space, and alliance, however tightly conjunct Ixion this sparks betrayal, lusting after, entitlement, and hubris to have what is desired at any cost, no matter the harm to another party. It is the emotional component that undergoes extreme disillusionment and disappointment
Hypothetical Uranian trans-Neptunian object Cupido is at 10 degrees Sagittarius in Eris’ discovery chart, which brings it right into the Mars (aggression) mix, being in exact conjunction with Ixion (betrayal, lack of loyalty, swindling, and cheating).
The extreme immaturity, lack of commitment, lack of care, and recklessness of the cluster around Mars brings forth extremely unhealthy
dynamics like crushes, lust, fake romance, rose coloured glasses, and infatuation. Cupido in astrology on its own is desire, longing, lust, craving and often it has NOTHING to do with real love. Cupido in the mix with Mars, Ixion and Varda in the 8th house is a recipe for disaster in relationship, which entails control over dynamics, sneaky obsessions, fake flattery, love-bombing, falsehoods, stalking, unhealthy entanglements, etc. This is the misuse of CHARM, ROMANTIC ILLUSIONS and the power of ROMANTIC ATTRACTION for private agendas, which we know personified as Don Juans and Femme Fatales.
Helen’s ‘love’ for two-faced Paris waned when she saw how weak he was in integrity and lacked good character, but she was a prisoner to her circumstances and the war that erupted between men over her as a BONE OF CONTENTION, STATUS SYMBOL and CASUALTY OF WAR. Helen eventually refused to lay down with Paris in bed and participate in his farse. Cupid’s arrow made two people come together where there was no real integrity in being together, for it left Menelaus the cuckolded husband, and Helen’s children motherless. It’s a massive betrayal (Ixion), and all for Paris’ superficial vanity and self-aggrandisement. It was not REAL LOVE… for STATUS SYMBOL Helen was the personification of Paris’ self-esteem. Why? Paris had none of the skills that the ancient Greeks prized as manly virtues, like strength, bravery, military skills, pride, and honour, thus he felt extremely INSECURE. By capturing Helen and parading her on his arm, Paris wanted to make up for his obvious SHORTCOMINGS, that stick out like a sore thumb, with the other decorated lords at Trojan court.
Possessive fake-sweet Paris could not function on his own merit or political standing… he had to prop himself up via another in relation, in an unhealthy, immoral ‘ownership’ way, much like an energy vampire with mind game playing; that is narcissism and dark manipulation.
Aggressive hypocrite Paris was in poverty and faulty thinking, and wanted to destroy other’s potentials, vibrancy, and life blessings, for his upliftment, by shaping people’s opinion about him favourably with a flaw in his reasoning, that is a mockery, like a slick politician.
Compassionate, nurturing Helen was used as a possession, for narcissistic supply; to refill the cups of the destructive men in her life that continually kicked over the cups of love.
They knew Helen was valuable for her ESTEEM IN OTHER’S EYES, and how that can be used for EXALTATION, but they don’t really care for her, nor the ruin of her reputation, happiness or aesthetic.
Her emotional distress was not counted… for her to feel utter hopelessness being gatekept so that Paris can have stature, clout and appearances from feel confident from having something of value that belongs to someone else (King Menelaus). Paris wanted to be SMUG over his fallacy, hypocrisy and frivolity to ISOLATE, to be able to control her joy, for there was no love in this situation, only energy feeding; for him to feel good…
Bad luck Paris could not look within, for his own inner jackpot. This is at the heart of the Eris juxtaposition, between the narcissist and the empath, the antagonist and the protagonist, etc.
Cupido’s devious love spell ended up being a poisoned apple handed to lovely Helen, for she was a pawn, in yet another greed-filled obsessive man’s agenda to inflate his status, fortune or inheritance by win at all cost power over another in relationship (8th house). It’s shameful to sit on this pedestal of toxic mentality, thinking that he was invincible or untouchable.
Initial attraction or admiration may bring people together, but Cupido’s influence is often SUPERFICIAL. Next to Ixion and Mars, there is betrayal, disloyalty, immaturity and aggression for a selfish take over, or stealing of another’s thunder.
With the Judgement of Paris, his faulty thinking made him chose Aphrodite’s bribe to get him Helen. To use her attraction and allure to make up for his SHORTCOMINGS; wanting what she had as IMPORTANCE to impress others, to increase his status. Paris used her for her qualities to rub off on him, to give him an energy satisfaction fest, resulting in her loss of joy, emotional wish fulfilment, and happiness. Paris left her feeling out in the cold from real, unconditional love and affection, while he was ‘paying his way’ to look good via Helen’s energy, putting on airs and an act, like a narcissist would.
Helen spent a lot of time in introspection and deep reflection about innocence stolen, and self-esteem undermined, as Paris’ trophy.
Helen discovered that despite all of PIOUS Paris’ mind games and ‘appearances bullshit’ of being grand for PUBLIC PERSONA ATTENTION, to influence how others viewed him, approved of him, and his importance, he was in energetic, spiritual poverty, soulless and an empty vessel, as he could not find his own blessings, skills, divinity etc. to be appreciated. This is why the half-ass phoney was power-hungry, selfish, greedy and traumatising her with his hustle of lies, high school behaviour. Below is a painting by famous painter Edward Burne-Jones called Helen's Tears (1833–1898). Clearly Helen suffered many tears… wept as she watched the horizons for a change in the outcome of the war against Troy.
In essence, boastful Paris was rubbing his conquest of Helen in the faces of the stiff Trojan court lords and decorated war heroes, who he could not compare to - who then had reason to envy him - with Paris gloating about what he had unrighteously obtained.
HOLIER-THAN-THOU Paris wanted to police her life force, creating an infected environment, to take credit for her fine attractive attributes that are admired, as connected to him, to get away with his fallacy mind game playing with TRAUMA-BONDING. Paris with his materialistic and superficial values, was unable to empathise with the pain he caused her, in doing things that attempt to stop her emotional growth and end her having a good time. In the 8th house, it was all about turning love into a battlefield.
Paris wanted Helen victimised, trapped, fragmented and powerless, thinking that he was the creator of her reality, and she the prisoner of him taking energy from her and ruining her SOCIAL CHEMISTRY… Paris wanted Helen to martyr herself for him to have what he desired (8th house). The energetic entanglement is an abomination.
Paris had started a war, but the coward was hiding behind Helen’s skirt, because he didn’t want to fight in the war. He played others to handle the mess of his making, and his dirty work for him, so that he could enjoy the benefits, and was frequently shamed for it by Hector. Helen eventually learnt how to refuse being THE ENABLER, that enabled the bad guy to feed off of her, and not being a powerless victim in the situation anymore…

Helen’s aesthetics earned her a reputation as a dangerously destructive beauty, yet this was just the PREJUDICE and LACK OF ACCURATE JUDGEMENT of those who grew bitter about the ongoing war and OBSESSION about having access to ONE WOMAN. She was both the loyal wife who first desired and then acted to secure her happiness with chosen husband King Menelaus with the Oath of Tyndareus, and adulterous mistress due to Aphrodite and Cupido’s unholy influence (in the 8th house). There is even a counter-myth (dating back at least to Homer’s time) where Helen doesn’t go to Troy at all. Instead, she spends the war chastely in Egypt, in the palace of Proteus. But the gods send an eidolon – image – of Helen to Troy, so her reputation is still ruined. The tragedian Euripides, writing in the fifth century BCE, also offers multiple Helens, some in which she was a cool, logistically clever woman, who Menelaus could not even beat in a battle of wits.
Many versions and stories have risen explaining how Helen’s massive change in energy frequency ascension, caused Menelaus to swiftly drop his IRE with her, after having struggled through a ten year long Trojan War to retrieve her.
It didn’t take King Menelaus long, after finally reuniting face to face with his stolen wife, to see she was a completely changed woman, who heeded the call to a new life, who took full accountability for herself, NO APOLOGIES OFFERED.
This energetic transmutation is explained towards the end of this article, in which Helen had expanded her vision and philosophy, and made the changes to bring about growth and purpose. Helen didn’t lay down as a victim robbed of her innocence, nor settled for less during this interlude. She clearly spent plenty of time in liminal space reflecting on Paris and his social engineering energy dynamics, and who she really was in the energy equation (perhaps learning how to grey-rock judging from look in her eyes in the image above). Then, when facing Menelaus, she was a capable, VIRTUOUS woman of inner strength, hope and faith who instilled confidence in others, an authentic peacemaker and diplomat. Through preparation, transformation and character development, she had become an intelligent, calm and mature personality with the immense dignity of an Empress, that nobody could pry from her fingers. Wise and mature Helen had put down the burdens, realising that they didn’t belong to her. Innocent and self-esteem-recovered Helen learnt by hard attained experience to refuse to take accountability for other’s mistakes, delusions, over-compensations for refusing to look within, ego problems, self-esteem issues, or insecurity, and manifested peace into her mind and heart. Knowing that her circumstances with Paris and his ‘performances’ did not determine her outcome. Knowing that feeling or thinking that she was out of control, didn’t mean that she was. Helen knew strength and endurance in adversity, despite her attraction, abundance, originality, life force vitality, and chemistry that made men greedy OPPORTUNISTS FOR PUBLIC PERSONA at her expense…
Some sources say that King Menelaus had been so ANGRY with Helen that he had planned to use his sword upon seeing her for the first time, yet he dropped it as soon as he saw her… (see image above). It was everyone’s anger, frustration and bitterness with the situation that blinded them… to THE TRUTH… Helen was not the perpetrator, she was the unfortunate target of yet another scheme by some man with high ambitions for self-aggrandisement for himself…
King Menelaus seems to be one of the few Greek heroes of the Trojan war who lived out his life happily, having retrieved his wife and mother of his children Helen, from behind enemy lines.
By the time Odysseus’ son Telemachus came seeking news of his father (seen in the image to the right), which would be nearly 10 years after the war, it seemed that husband and wife were happy together.
Energy Harvesting, Bone of Contention, Status Symbol and Tables Turning on Political Standing and Leadership Role
Energy harvesting entails the deliberate ‘energy harvesting’ of another person’s life force vitality for a narcissistic gain. It’s an energetic crime to drain others of their energetic strength for one’s own psychic survival like this, for the maintenance of a certain superficial lifestyle at the expense of another person suffering loss of vitality; it’s slavery, landlords forever rising the rents on the poor, and governments rising taxes for their own indulgence at another’s expense.
The Iliad has vibrant women and men (Helen, Briseis, and Achilles) cruelly marginalised and made the bone of contention or status symbol in an ego battle game playing and vanity-driven power struggle for political exaltation.
In Odyssey we see the tables turn where zealous Odysseus became the disenfranchised GIGOLO bogged in severe misfortune, and at the mercy of manipulative, jealous women in the 8th house who had unholy power over him through ‘so-called love’ (Circe and Calypso), to steal his spirit.
These women who wooed him with seductive advances in courtship and others brought the man of many machinations, second only to Zeus for his artifice, to utter despair and ‘a dark night of the soul’ in relations that are a deep betrayal (Ixion). Odysseus DREAMED of going back to his wife and son after the 10 year Trojan War, but was first detained by Circe, then held captive by Calypso for 7 years as her sex toy, in his fall from grace. This happened after Odysseus had demolished Troy to ashes with the deceptive looking Trojan horse scheme, to take victory of the empire.
This article is a continuation of the Wheel of Fortune dynamic described in the previous article about how treating other people poorly, can come back to bite the player. The issue is not a fight between men and women, rather it shows the polarities of the Eris juxtaposition, and how nobody is on such a high horse, that they are immune to cause and effect karma due to bad choices and behaviour in relation to others. The general idea around the actions took around the malicious, energy draining of vitality, is to stop another from self-actualising, taking their vision in life away from them in a power grab; for the stealthy antagonist to anchor themselves in, to the life and the benefits that belong to another person. It’s juggling people, lack of faithfulness, and playing mind games IN SECRET, with third party entanglements, and keeping others small and disempowered; for self-enrichment.

Hera was the wife and queen of Zeus the Greek god in mythology. She was one of the three competitors for Eris’ apple in the Judgement of Paris, who had superficial and materialistic values, and could not empathise with others, nor the pain caused…
Hera was involved in many relentless COMPETITIVE battles, stalking, backstabbing, controlling in power struggles.
In the image to the right she is seen nurturing Hercules/Herakles who had a STRONG LIFE FORCE not recognising who he was, but that relationship had turned TOXIC due to what Hera nurtured in her heart, since before Hercules was born. Heartless Hera hated him and there was ENDLESS animosity between them, throughout Hercules’ life. Hera went out of her way to make his life as DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE because she saw him as a bastard.
In ancient Greece Hera was seen as the ideal woman for her fidelity and monogamy and was idolised as such with a temple called Heraion (see image below), yet Hera had a DEVIANT side to her. In the image below, infant Hercules who had superhuman strength and confidence is seen overpowering the poisonous VIPERS / MONSTERS / FLYING MONKEYS that Hera had sent to him and his twin brother… to kill them.

Hera represents POLITICAL POWER and SACRED MARRIAGE as can be seen in the Judgement of Paris, in which she tried to bribe Paris with power over all of Asia. In Greek mythology, Hera was pleasure-seeking Zeus’ jealous but eternally faithful wife wanting to keep her and her title and linage EXALTED. Hera was another marginalised woman known for her PLOTS with a treacherous end, dirt-digging, possessiveness and REVENGE that turned toxic due to her husband’s voyeurism and many ‘love’ children, whom she often launched toxic, jealous and calculated attacks on. Hera didn’t want Zeus’ children out of wedlock to overshadow her legitimate children, yet Hera had none of the good qualities of motherhood herself, thus her INSECURITY to fulfil her fantasy of some perfection.
In her mind, Hera believed in anti-meritocracy, appearances and position, and that Zeus’ children born outside the CLOUT of marriage, wasn’t an important person, nor worthy of acknowledgement, recognition, social chemistry, or being seen.
Hera sees them worthy of her active (Mars) snub, for her aggressive preservation of RANK and ELEVATION above them, as somehow more IMPORTANT… Thus the egotistical justification for DEMOTION OF STATUS of those who have worthy inner qualities, are attractive, and are good people, like Hercules... whom Hera is in COMPETITION with… and ATTACKS… and labels as a NOBODY… due to her self-esteem issues… Hera wanted Hercules to live with the persona she had assigned to him.
In Hera’s mind, Zeus’ love children bastards had to be excluded, bullied, marginalised, hidden and eliminated by the toxic stepmother, because they didn’t fit into matriarch Hera’s ideology regarding HIERARCHY, INHERITANCE, FIT FOR LEADERSHIP and KINGDOM in Olympus. To have their status lowered and being ignored. Hera’s fears are not specifically addressed as such in Greek mythology, however, her actions suggest that she feared the loss of her husband and power in being connected to him. These were her INSECURITIES. Hera felt precious about being faithful, but was not loyal as she launched many failed revolutions against husband Zeus, and she wasn’t able to extend faithfulness to extended family, which meant that she was a HYPOCRITE who acted from her insecurities regarding POLITICAL STANDING. She was threatened by those who challenged her AUTHORITY position, while being in a position to help, but self-indulging and abusing her power instead.
Greek mythology is full of SATIRE, which is the use of humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
As part of Eris in astrology energy, it’s about the futility of the WIN AT ALL COST BATTLES, TRICKERY and RECKLESS MIND GAME PLAYING, and the wasting of precious life energy on perpetuating faulty reasoning and bullshit to feed the ego. It’s about the BIGGER PICTURE that becomes quite evident when everything comes FULL CIRCLE, about those who want to CAPITALISE on creating heartache. It’s the projections to ruin the happy platform of joy and contentment that the protagonist manifested from. The most famous of the offspring in mythology for being targeted, ABUSED and traumatised by Hera’s wrath and grudges was Hercules (Herakles), who was deliberately driven MAD by Hera’s bad habits, like SPYING and STALKING amongst other things. For some reason, Hera decided to focus all of her anger on Hercules alone, to keep him OUT OF THE INNER CIRCLE without choices in love and trapped, despite there being a large amount of other illegitimate children close to their father (like Athena, Hermes etc.). Hercules became an adventurer travelling all of Greece but this would not stop Hera’s wrath…
Hera greatly AFFECTED the course of target Hercules' life journey, on an extreme WARPATH to keep throwing MOUNTAINS in his way to BRUTALLY WHIP him in PUNISHMENT he did not deserve, and this seems to be one of the characteristics that Hera conjunct Mars aggression in the 8th house brings in Eris’ discovery chart.
Hercules was a living reminder of adulterer Zeus’ infidelity, and Hera’s ego could not take what the ‘NOBODY’ did to her INSECURITY regarding her SOCIAL STATUS.
This is why the NEMESIS was CRUEL to him and made him SUFFER for the sins of his father, to break his spirit and the ESTEEM he would receive from others. Hera wanted to kill his joy and turn his life upside down because of the evil in her heart. Why? Hera was PSYCHOLOGICALLY STUCK and full of RESENTMENT as a result of Zeus forcing her into marriage (including rape), and then continuing illicit affairs behind her back and being a liar about it. She felt wronged, resentment and offended, thus her MISCONSTRUCTION.
This EMOTIONALLY STUNTED toxic loop was Hera’s justification, license and excuse for holding an evil whip, with which she doled out intense 8th house physical, emotional and psychological damage to Hercules.
From her CORRUPTED COMFORT ZONE she caused destruction and rip tides with the PROJECTIONS of her fears through devilish energy. It’s extreme selfishness though… Hera was in spiritual poverty due to the toxicity of trying to keep the sanctity of her POSITION IN SOCIETY, and it made her a horror show.
At every moment, Hercules was expected to play along with her DISTORTED narrative and go into her MISCONCEPTION cage, and he refused to submit to the suffering she wanted for him. This ‘audacity’ to be resilient and not obliging, made OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE Hera RESENTFUL and BLAMEFUL.
Hera wanted to create and dictate Hercules’ REALITY and he rebelled being victimised or trapped.
This is why her MENTAL HEALTH suffered. Hera traumatised herself by pursuing this misapprehension in her mind, becoming the person of the dedicated actions she took to create CHAOS; being cold, calculating, malicious, emotionless and missing an empathy gene. Hera was afraid of feeling her emotions and also emotional acceptance. She became her own monstrous acts and FAULTY RESONING, because she could not FEEL.
Hera thought mechanistically, and did not care about emotional consequences for her actions.
Hercules could feel a calm abiding compassion for his TORTUROUS stepmother, but Hera could feel nothing but satisfaction as she was witness to pain inflicted on Hercules. There is something wrong here… a massive mistake in perception and fulfilment of sick desires for sick satisfaction…
Oppressive Hera in her self-delusion was continually taking her anger out on Hercules as casualty of war, beating him down and being aggressive, and this activity conjunct Mars, Varda and Ixion turns very toxic and stuck in the 8th house, to cause emotional distress, as it relates to Eris energy.
Hera’s self-destructive devotion turned her into the trapped dark demonic ENEMY in bondage to her agenda; abusing her position of power to create MISFORTUNE and TARGETING Hercules in particular. Anyone who watched the 1995 tv series Hercules: The legendary Journeys with actor Kevin Sorbo, in which Hera sent MONSTERS to destroy his life, knows what he suffered under his evil ‘step’ mother. Hera always hid and clocked herself, often only revealing herself as she striked or thereafter. Evil stepmother stories are famously Eris, with other examples Cinderella and Snow White. Hercules DREAMED of and longed for a peaceful life, and had many great adventures, but was Hera’s target. Hera appears to be malevolent and persecuting to cause
utter despair and lack of hope. Hera set in motion the events which led to Hercules’ twelve Labors. During the course of the Labors, Hera deliberately stepped in to make things harder, stirring up the Amazons against Hercules, or sending a gadfly to break up the herd of Geryon's cattle. Even after Hercules finished the Labors, and went on to other adventures, Hera got in his way. When the hero sailed from Troy, Hera sent violent storms that tossed the boat around like a toy. Zeus got so mad at Hera for causing trouble that he hung her off the edge of Mount Olympus. Hercules did try to smooth things over with the ANGRY QUEEN; when he noticed that she had not opposed him during his fight against Hippocoon, he sacrificed goats to her, in thanks. Still Hera was determined to be a MAJOR BLOCKAGE in his (and his father’s) life.
It is a fact that Hercules was famous for his superhuman strength, GREAT VITALITY, love of humanity, and for his numerous far-ranging adventures as a traveller. The Greeks admired Herakles for his deeds and VIRTUOUS character, despite his imperfections. He had attributes of the gods, but had the wellbeing of man in mind, using his strength in the best interest of humans. In mythology he was LIVELY, passionate, strong, and emotional but a large man who ate a lot and was amorous. His deeds demonstrated his courage, wisdom, ambition, and strength, and his self-esteem was buoyant despite great odds regarding stolen innocence. Hera might have looked upon him thinking “like father like son”… yet she was PREJUDICED and MAKING COMPARISONS against him since before his birth; trying to prevent loving connections for him. Hera with her materialistic and superficial values, was unable to empathise with the pain she caused him. Hera wanted Hercules to martyr himself for her to have what she desired (Eris 8th house).
“Social chemistry hater” Hera was determined to make trouble for Hercules - who was a good natured man - continually put BLOCKAGES in his life, and even made him lose his mind; in a confused state, he killed his own wife and children, to cause him utter despair with her mind games.
Hera put forth herculean efforts to hurt, kill and torture Hercules’ buoyant spirit and many failed, yet in the end Hercules was killed by the trait that Hera hated most of all; infidelity. It was only after his death that Hera’s DELIBERATELY NURTURED ANGER cooled. This cluster in the 8th house is one of the sick ‘recipe for disaster’ clusters in Eris’ chart, that makes relationship between honourable Eris higher expression, and dishonourable Eris lower expression… irreconcilable, and causes a complete collapse, ruin, disgrace and rock bottom as was detailed in the previous article.
Hera is also about how LOYALTY and FAITHFULNESS cannot be reciprocated by the unapologetic player (Zeus) for they are too unbalanced, deceitful, lacking staying power, chasing fantasy and non-committal in nature.
It’s shameful to sit on this pedestal of toxic mentality, thinking that he was invincible or untouchable. Yet ever-faithful to her husband Hera too is unapologetic in the action of reciprocating the offence - in evil for evil backstabbing - which is significantly amplified as part of the 8th house configuration in Eris’ chart. Jealous Hera felt SATISFIED by what she did. Being in a love triangle with third parties and bastard children all the time and feeling toxic about it drove her to tantrums, mind games becoming her reality, and feeling LUNACY.
Hera had a watchman and servant called Argos Panoptis who had one hundred eyes, and when Zeus’ eye wandered to one of Hera’s priestesses called Io, Hera had her guarded by him, and transformed Io into a cow to hide her. In order to get past Argus to possess Io, Zeus ordered that Argus be killed, however, Hera immortalised her faithful watchman by turning his one hundred eyes into the spectacular eyes on the tail of a peacock.
There were many RELENTLESS MANIPULATION and POWER STRUGGLES that Hera was directly involved with.
Hera is the enquiring mind that finds lies and reason to be SUSPECT. She’s the woman who knows of the cheater’s philosophy that sanctions unfair practises serving their purpose. She senses the hidden undercurrents, and knows of her slippery adversary who are keeping secrets hidden in cowardice and weakness. It’s the same shit, different day’, where there is no real love and it feels punishing to be constantly sneaking around, or watching, to catch someone out.
The deeply emotional 8th house in Eris’ discovery chart is the perfect breeding ground for skewed perception and twisted justification for actions like attack, jealousy, stalking, insecurity, dirt-digging, and deep resentment.
It’s the resentful suspicion that one’s partner is attracted or involved with someone else.
It’s the envious resentments of another’s achievements, possessions or perceived advantages.
It’s the anger because of desiring to have another’s qualities, advantages or success.
It’s the unhappy feeling because someone has something that another want but cannot have.
It’s the competitive hostility, bitterness, resentment toward a rival.
It’s the mental uneasiness from suspicion or fear of unfaithfulness.
It’s the malice to stuff someone else up to take an advantage from them.
Fact is, that Hera didn’t care who she hurt, she just wanted what she wanted. Conniving Hera was obsessed with hurting Hercules, and was celebrating his hardships, DUE TO A FALSE IDEA in her mind…
Her fallacy is based in insecurity and construed self-deceit, which entails a flaw in an argument that makes it deceptive and misleading. Yet this malicious error in reasoning resulting in illusion, suited her just fine… If she had been willing to look within, she would discover her own lies, but she preferred her UNSOUND JUDGEMENTS over truth. Her lies to self were making her life unstable, and in stalemate, which was not smart at all… but her delusional losing plan to block Hercules’ life was giving her satisfaction. It’s like the scorpion, who in attacking an opponent, would risk impaling itself with its venomous stinger.
Her self-appointed delusion put herself, and Hercules, in entrapment and for what? It makes little sense to be on this fake flexing hamster wheel… but for Hera, the low vibrational energies gave her sick, justified satisfaction…
In Greek mythology, the peacock was Hera’s sacred animal. Of all the birds, the peacock most resembles the traditional description of the PHOENIX. The phoenix is the legendary bird of resurrection that is sacrificed in the fires of life and then rises from the flames out of its own ashes. As a reflection of the phoenix, the peacock was often associated with immortality and re-birth, and considered sacred by many cultures and religions, including the Greek, Egyptian, Chinese, Christian and Hindu.
In myth, Hera created the peacock from Argus who had 100 eyes on his body. Hence, the tail feathers of peacock symbolise the vault of heaven, and the 'eyes' of the stars. This symbolises ALL-SEEING KNOWLEDGE… Yet Hera in this configuration in Eris’ discovery chart, colours its influence decidedly negatively… however, through the experience of all the toxic energy, there is Eris higher expression that emerge from the ashes of ruin… a phoenix born anew…
Today we know this energy as part of Eris energy, as the action of opposition, resisting, or combating. It’s antagonism or hostility due to being triggered. It’s a person or group opposing, criticising, or protesting something, someone or another group. It’s creating defensiveness and trauma as well.

There are many stories and myths that describe human progression through the stages of life, persevering, and overcoming overwhelming obstacles, like the Hero’s Journey, the Phoenix Rising, Persephone rising as Queen of the Underworld, the dark night of the soul. Greek tragedies played out as a kind of healing journey towards wholeness via seeing themes in life play out, and experiencing the death of the ego sense of self, see the image to the right.
For those who have experienced the kind of stalker lazer focus, scapegoating with false statements, and getting painfully cut off from society and slandered - leading to ruin and disgrace - that enemy Zeus submitted Eris and others to, there is an opportunity to go within for the warm embrace of the soul. This can lead to a slow but very, very deep total transformation… Surrendering to utter change, paradigm shift and reunion with the divine, as an earth angel, with their heart in the right place.
Eventually emerging from immense challenge completely changed… in a stronger position… being the overcomer. Feeling the life force energy and the sensing and feeling returning. The Phoenix bird mythology originated in Greek Mythology.
It is described as a bird which could live for a long period, and when the time comes for its death, it would burn up in flames and become reborn from the ashes. A more integrated Self is re-born. A similar legend is also found in Ancient Egyptian Mythology.
The fabled Phoenix bird is said to have a life span of around 500 years.
A full transit of Pluto around the sun is about 248 years.
A full transit of Eris around the Sun is about 556 years.
Both Pluto and Eris have been associated with the Phoenix Rising experience (both are trans-Neptunian and Kuiper belt objects), however, Eris may be a more pure reflection of the full expression of the energy, regarding major endings that lead to transformations…
Pluto transits are known to be powerful, destructive, wiping the slate clean for a fresh start, so to speak. With the five Eris square Pluto direct hits over, but still in orb, and cause and effect playing out, it’s not hard to see why fighting a grande design regarding another’s sacred life energy and path, is a sure way to demolish your own.
