According to website Britannica, goddess Eris in Greco-Roman mythology, the personification of strife. She was called the daughter of Nyx (Night) by Hesiod, but she was sister and companion of Ares (the Roman Mars) in Homer’s version. There is a questioning about her parents, but if we favour that she was Ares’ sister, then she may be the daughter of king of the gods Zeus and Hera. Eris was most famous for her golden apple, and then for her fighting alongside Ares in the Trojan War. When goddess Eris was the only individual of the gods not invited to the prominent marriage of Peleus and Thetis, and socially snubbed, she threw among the guests a golden apple inscribed “For the most beautiful” that caused a relationship dynamic fracas…
Goddesses Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite each claimed to be worthy of it, and due to the argument, Zeus assigned the decision-making regarding who was the fairest, to Paris, then a shepherd on Mount Ida. Hapless Paris had a very clear BIAS, a desire for PROMINENCE, and hastily awarded the apple to Aphrodite, without even considering the many illustrious virtues of each of the goddesses, and this made the other two mad as hornets, which were the fuel that fired the Trojan War, as was Zeus’ goal, foreseen by oracle Themis.
Materialistic, clout-hungry Paris was a hasty, bad judge of character, but he made the choice, because in choosing Aphrodite, he garnered her support to help him win the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Troy, who was king Menelaus’ wife… In the war that resulted from greed and ambition to have the good fortune that belonged to another, Hera and Athena remained implacable enemies of Troy, ensuring the victory of the Achaean army, as Athena never lost a battle. It’s a story of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and a bullying, feeding frenzy regarding a situation that made multiple people mad. What was the energetic underlying imprint? Bully Zeus wanted social prominence, and he would step on anybody’s neck, with any kind of underhanded behaviour, to achieve his goal. Eris saw the underlying family patterns and recognised the clout-hungry sickness for what it was, but the smear-campaign made against her was so huge, that it likely stirred discord and strife in her heart as well, resulting in the fighting which everyone partook, except for Zeus who wanted to appear impartial, yet was pulling the strings behind the scenes in secret, for his ultimate desired outcome…
What a mess? Why? In the conflict, destruction, loss, slander, hurt, misfortune and breakdown of relationships, Zeus wanted to attain his personal goals, via PSYCHOLOGICAL ABUSE to assure his social prominence. His initial plans seemed promising, in causing Achilles to be disgraced in Greek social eyes, but this ended in failure after Achilles’ death, and everyone realising his true inner mettle and character, and what and who was really behind the cockamamie in attack mode. There was a great deal of grief and disillusionment, created by two sides that went to war, each with their own unholy alliances, forsaking everything for a victory, but the sacrifice was not worth it, because the violent death of countless caused immense TRAUMA. It was the PAIN of being misunderstood, unfairly judged, rejected, estranged and isolated that caused heartache, hurt and harsh resolutions. The pain of being crippled by the weight of past hurts, is what caused everyone to participate in the Trojan War. The triangulation dynamic in relationships employed to take a gain, resulted in great misfortune for everyone indeed… even for the main instigator, who was not Eris…
Social Engineer Zeus’ Disowned Daughter Sees The Family Dysfunctional Patterns, Motivations and Hidden Drivers
Eris is in the first house, which is the house of how the individual/object is seen in her own discovery chart; it’s about persona and the self.
Eris, who according to some accounts in mythology, is the (disowned) daughter of social engineer king of the gods Zeus and Hera, is opposed to Jupiter (Zeus is Jupiter in Roman mythology) in the 6th house, which is the house of the ‘other’ in relationship. Eris in Aries, and Jupiter in Libra is part of a grand cross with other planets in square, which shows that the tension relates to the Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house, and Varuna conjunct Sirius and asteroid Cupido in Cancer in the 4th house. Eris is also in trine to asteroid Achilles at 21 degrees in Sagittarius in the 9th house. The above, is a brief narrative on the very tight aspects, that Eris has in her own discovery chart.

We know from mythology that uninvited Eris threw an apple into a wedding crowd that said, “to the fairest”, and that it stirred the vanity of three goddesses Athena, Hera and Aphrodite. We also know that before this happened, Zeus had schemed the Trojan War with oracle Themis, with multiple goals, like to have socially loved warrior and helper of the people Achilles fall socially flat on his face in disgrace, but also to depopulate the earth, both which he deemed a threat to his rule. Why? A prophecy over Achilles’ life said that he would either live his life to old age in obscurity, or die young and become a man loved and remembered for thousands of years, more powerful than his father. Being superseded by offspring, or any rival for that matter, was Zeus’ biggest fear of all. In the chart, Zeus was opposed to, and perhaps even obsessed with Eris’ fate, and mythology shows that he already had an unhealthy laser focus on the POTENTIAL of anyone who might supersede him… with their exceptionality.

At first it may appear as if the other party, Zeus (Jupiter in Libra) is in fairness and balance conjunct trans-Neptunian object Haumea, but Eris in Aries is in wide conjunction to the North Node of Fate, where Jupiter is widely conjunct the South Node, which addresses the negative qualities of the zodiac sign Libra. Both Eris and Jupiter receives a square from Varuna conjunct kingly fixed star Sirius in the fourth house, and the Sun
in the10th house Capricorn. This is the GRAND CROSS tug of war, between who is really fair, energetically noble and in social order and who really deserves to shine brightly in the public eye, for these were the family bones of contention in Eris energy. Cold-hearted Zeus did many immoral things, but SOCIAL PROMINENCE and APPEARING GLAMOROUS was very important to him, and Eris saw through the facade… and how he really went about regarding abusing his power for selfish gain.

He wanted to attack her public persona, and forcefully make her wrong, because she saw behind the mask; the real clout-hungry, fortune-driven monster, who used the justice system to stay on top of the world, to fulfil a fantasy of maintaining social superiority.
The Jupiter blog explained why other’s blessings and fulfilment potentially made Jupiter (Zeus in Greek mythology) feel sick to his stomach… and why he wanted to block their light, creative spark, and potentials… To knock them off their square, for appearances, and to feel secure in centre stage.

Many consider Jupiter energy in astrology to be only about manmade laws and courts, but both Chiron, and the trans-Neptunian object Eris point of view, gives it quite the different perspective, as Zeus was constantly and secretly, in a one sided competition with others. Zeus was CARELESS and had ZERO EMPATHY or COMPASSION for those who he targeted, to ruin their lives. Asteroid Juno in the 11th house of community, is also Hera, although the focus is more on the power and social influence Hera attained by marriage. Asteroid Juno conjunct Neptune and squares the Moon in Scorpio, thus actually being a nurturing mother was a major issue. It’s a family saga for SOCIAL CONTROL, with Eris in dissent over the APPEARANCES bullshit, illusions, lies, and fakery that Zeus and Hera were desperate to assert in Greek community; that they were upstanding, deserving certain selfish privileges over others and were better than those considered lower ranking than them.
It’s all the work of the arrogant ego wanting good publicity, without being honourable by heart, and Eris would not tolerate it… despite the defamation against her name to make her cower. The opulent but toxic mother likely lacked EMPATHY, and may have been non-committal, because her selfish political position fulfilment was more important than anything else… and love for a daughter might have been a non-factor when it came to her rank and POWER benefits… She was wearing a mask hiding her insincerity, which was top priority, and had many secret agendas, to bully.
Both natural parents might have been intolerant, bigoted, prejudiced and despotic towards Eris who had insight into the deep crevices of their hidden motivations and ill-intentions due to seeing the family patterns of dysfunction, and she seems to have resonated with brother Ares (Mars) on the battlefield…

Eris Transits and Discombobulated Emotions Rising
It’s quite remarkable, how Eris transits reveals people’s true colours and characters, because at the start of an Eris transit, it becomes very challenging for people to hide their previously hidden intentions and ill motivations from others, as the greed, envy and discombobulated energies that may have been suppressed before, bursts to the forefront.

The conjunction of asteroid Achilles to the Pluto, Venus, Mercury cluster, (and Eris in tight trine to Achilles) shows that both Achilles and Eris was aware of the hidden dynamics, having deep insight into the targeting of Achilles, and the psyche of Zeus, as well as the dysfunctional family patterns that had led up to him being who he was, and what was driving him; ill-intentions indeed…
Even the king of the gods Zeus, was not an energetic match to ‘sit on top of the world’, because after Achilles had died in the battle, the truth rose to the surface, and Greek society realised how Achilles’ enemies deliberately fed the discord stirred in his heart. They eventually remembered warm-hearted, liberator Achilles for who he really was, and today, after thousands of years, Achilles is still remembered as a great man with heart for the disenfranchised and marginalised, who famously acknowledged the envy of the gods.
Achilles was seen as the only EPIC HERO of the Trojan War, and deserved to fulfil the prophecy over his life. In the end, Eris didn’t have to do anything to expose Zeus.
In Eris’ mythology, it was Zeus who was at the root of the DISCONTENT. He had the intention to disrupt other’s lives without it appearing to have come from him.
He wanted to disrupt Achilles’ fortunate life path, and utilise him in his plan to depopulate the earth via the Trojan War, by making sure he was overwhelmed with DISCORD in his heart. Zeus believed that the results of all the DIVISIONS caused from the DISCONTENT would cause him AN ADVANTAGE. Many times that advantage resulted from divisions caused by the discontent. All forms of spreading discontent for personal advantage are PERNICIOUS, however, the worst is when a person sows a seed of discontent between a couple because the sower is jealous of their relationship or wants one of the partners for themselves. Stealthy Zeus sowed seeds of discontent in a great number of people while disguising himself as someone he is not, to innocent young ladies, seasoned warriors, those who should have known better, and even his own daughter Eris.
