Selfishness, greed for ‘appearances’ or a luxurious lifestyle at another’s expense and materialism have been around for thousands of years.
This is about the careless, seedy actions of players, gold diggers and fortune hunters to be at the top for spotlight, the fall from grace from wanting rewards without effort, and the backdraft of evil behaviour. And how the Wheel of Fortune creates a fated healing, outcome or destiny that
ends up fair for all involved, with a demotion, and an elevation where it is due. The Wheel of Fate changes people’s destiny after they had made a series of choices. This is about goddesses and players and how neither truly believes in the visions, dreams or ideals of the other, because the misalignment between qualities and value are too huge. The Root Cause and Trigger: Another’s Fortune in the Eris Juxtaposition Starts the Strife and Discord
It is an emotional reaction due to another’s beauty and fortune that becomes the problem for the antagonist in the Eris juxtaposition, that is revealed at the start of Eris transits. Eris higher expression people hold value, worth, strength, love and divinity, and with this comes the rewards that the Eris lower expression are bothered by.
They want to (Pluto) CORRUPT THE LOVE, BEAUTY and VALUES (Venus) and create DISTORTED THINKING and FAULTY PERCEPTION (Mercury) by zeroing in on someone very bright who has massive potential (galactic centre), for self-satisfaction frivolity and superficiality (Sagittarius 9th house). This competition, desire for achievement, bigotry, and MISSING LOGIC is what causes the discord and strife in the heart of honourable people, that Eris transits are so famous for. It is hard for empathic, hopeful, loving people to fathom how someone can become so disloyal and obsessed to destroy their life and their very essence. It’s hard for them to understand how the conceited can allow themselves to sink so deep into evil influence… that they want to turn others to be ugly on the inside, like they are.

Why? The undeserving and corrupting, doesn’t have the MERIT for what their cognitive dissonance tell them they ‘deserve’. This is about those who want to get a JACKPOT off of the downfall of another for a benefit and ‘appearance’, by creating burdens, suspension or decay for them. It’s the smugness of seeing another lose due to their actions, that ends up cause and effect for them as well in the form of thick, low vibrational stagnancy, like trying to walk in thick, sticky molasses. In being unwilling to budge from the dark, manipulative devil energy, due to being too invested in it: wanting to hang another, they create that for themselves. It’s being stuck in a karmic situation that they had created for themselves, due to putting the materialistic, selfish pursuits and piracy, before integrity.

Foolishness, Recklessness, Betrayal and Injustice as Major Features of Eris Energy, and Falling form Grace:
This article is mainly about Ixion, Paris and Odysseus in Greek mythology, and as the image below illustrates. It also looks at Eris’ discovery chart, particularly the cluster around Mars in the 8th house. Varda, Ixion and Quaoar are trans-Neptunian objects, where Ulysses, Odysseus and Paris are asteroids. Paris is at 11 degrees Leo, which is trine to this cluster.
This cluster of planets/TNOs/asteroids are overwhelmingly in the 8th house, which is the house of greedily forcing (Mars) the inheritance of another’s gifts and blessings as their wealth, and the vanity of feeling entitled to take it, as theirs. It’s the conceited riding on the back of another’s hard work and labour (2nd house), and the audacity of taking actions to force it as their own (8th house).
It’s the oxymoron of being so arrogant, prideful and sure in forcefully taking ownership of another’s riches or assets, and then be confused as to why karma has to play out afterwards…
It’s the entitlement, and expectation that there will be no consequences for stealing, wrongdoing or INVERSION OF REALITY. It’s believing that they deserve what is rightfully another’s and being genuinely shocked or confused about having to take losses, after having made another to forcefully take a loss.
Troy for example, was on one of the most important ancient trading routes and was the ENVY of ancient civilisation; their location enabled them to build massive abundance that was theirs. In mythology, Ixion’s new father-in-law was an intelligent man and withheld some of Ixion’s most prized horses as collateral, knowing of his new son-in-law’s weak character, and that he might not honour his promises to pay the dowry he had pledged. (Ixion didn’t intend to honour the lavish assurances he had made, as he was stingy and materialistic.)

Mars in Sagittarius in the 8th house conjunct Kuiper belt objects Ixion, Quaoar and Varda. All three these objects carry major themes around betrayal, albeit in different ways, and conjunct Mars this colours and influences the actions that Mars represents in the chart. In this article, the focus will be put on Ixion. In brief, Ixion in Greek mythology was the privileged King of Thessaly turned disgraced murderer of his father-in-law - who upon given a second chance for redemption that he did not deserve - abused the generosity of his benefactor. The nature of Ixion was reckless, immature, entitled, and bratish. He was a Peter Pan player who thought himself entitled to selfish behaviour, getting away with it, and being above the law of what is socially acceptable behaviour. Ixion thought it was funny to control situations and do these crazy, socially unacceptable things to people, and laughed about it. Ixion didn’t expect for him to be evil and not win. He did not expect to be seen, shamed and humiliated, that’s how arrogant and sure he had been in getting a personal victory. Ixion didn’t think through all the steps, and never looked at the man in the mirror… Ixion was being full of disregard for others, thinking that he’d get away with it.
Ixion had acquired a new father in law, which should be an asset to any king, but he was so arrogant, entitled and had the audacity to abuse this valuable relationship, going out of his way, with a narcissistic discard.
One-upping people made smug Ixion feel on a high, because he wanted everyone smaller than him, actively doing f*****d up shit behind their back. It was all for superficial appearances in the eyes of others. Ixion biggest mistake of all was not to REFLECT on his choices and behaviour and how much of a petty tyrant power, mental imbalance, and being out of control made him…
Ixion didn’t want to take RESPONSIBILITY, he didn’t want to put the work in, thus stayed in low vibrational energy. The power monger just wanted to enjoy himself, explore his options, wearing a blindfold, while being in denial by choice; a player. Indulging in foolish, reckless and pointless exercises, refusing to take RESPONSIBILITY… nor see the bitter truth about his love of MONEY.
Conceited Ixion had his head in the clouds, ‘TRIPPIN’ ON A HIGH’ and in INVERSION OF REALITY by choice instead. Ixion wasn’t entitled to keep the dowry he had promised to give his father-in-law in exchange for his new bride… yet he was all about self-enrichment.
After he killed his father in law, he lost his privileged position and kingly life, and were left for dead to wander the wilderness. It was King of the gods Zeus who pitied him and gave him a chance at redemption. However, the player in Ixion chose to bite the hand that extended him kindness, when he made inappropriate advances towards his benefactor’s wife Hera. Upon discovery of yet another betrayal, it became clear to all that Ixion was incapable of learning life lessons, voluntarily going around the same karmic cycles, with similar karmic situations and people, never learning from the experience. Ixion just wanted to keep perpetuating his fakery and game playing.
For Ixion, the shits and giggles he got at another’s expense was a fun pastime, and it felt good to screw others over. Unfortunate for Ixion, he tried the wrong person…
As PUNISHMENT, Zeus ordered that Ixion be tied to a FLAMING WHEEL that slowly turned for eternity, having to repeat the phrase: “you shall not disrespect your benefactor”. Like an eternal groundhog day. Ixion was offered a second chance, only to squander it by attempting to humiliate the man who offered him a chance to redeem himself. This is a great metaphor for the cause and effect that do find the player, at some stage in their life, when they choose to stay the immature player, that never learns his lessons from life experience. Those who refuse to learn from their mistakes, are a fool indeed…

In Eris’s chart, it is quite obvious how Ixion conjunct Mars (and Varda) is the slippery slope energy that is behind the intense win at all cost energy of Eris. Mars is in the 8th house in fire sign Sagittarius. The eight house is about shared resources, joint financial matters, legacies and inheritances, and with Mars/Ixion here, it entails those threatening secret dark desires to stalk, acquire, win and cause a “death”, significant cut, or loss for another through playing games. To have dominion over others from that control and power-hungry 8th house.
OBSESSED to block another’s great fortune, legacy or vibrational match to their pathway to it. It’s the obsession with the good things that may be happening in another’s life; to stop it from happening. By causing another to NOT be a vibrational match for their own blessings, or not having connections to make shared resources, investments, commitments, or inheritances with. It is the element of reckless BETRAYAL due to being immature, spoilt, having a history of not taking accountability and feeling entitled, that Ixion brings to Mars. Ixion entails harming someone who is INNOCENT due to being a juvenile, poor character bully, and in a position of authority over another, that can be abused. Mars also squares Uranus which entails more reckless and dangerous energy (both in water houses entailing secrets and secret enemies), that entails the shock factor that is employed to ambush and shock to the core the emotions of another to disable them. This energy from the super-controlling, betraying grudge-holder is directed intentionally, to make another bitter and angry at the losses that they have taken, which is why the Wheel of Fortune must come in to give to all the rewards of “what you sow, you shall reap”.
Ixion was committed to living in an ALTERNATE REALITY, and with Ixion conjunct Mars, this is about the actions to selfish take, having invested in LIES and FALSE REALITIES.
Ixion built a faulty foundation on his own lies to himself. It is being the very worst kind of martyr; to suffer by your own dedication to poor investments rooted in untruth.
Ixion is about resisting CHANGE. It’s about the preference of FALSE REALITIES regarding a WORTHY relationship that is in truth VALUABLE. Ixion preferred to see his father-in-law in the light of not having value; worthy of a narcissistic discard, for narcissistic delight. Ixion created an inversion of reality in his head that was rooted in a faulty foundation. This is the self-deception that Ixion used to hurt himself with. Ixion wanted TO LIVE A LIE, consequences be damned. The villian wanted to bully the situation to his advantage, and overwhelm a worthy addition to his family, to take away his father-in-law’s autonomy. Ixion energy is a situation where there is no room for everybody winning, because someone won’t let go of their investment in their la-la land. They want to be IRRESPONSIBLE and out of touch with reality. Ignorance is bliss.
Kingly Privileges, Golden Ticket and Special Pass versus the Beauty of Inner Qualities that bestow Honour and Merit
Ixion used his mass generational wealth as king, as a form of self-worth and waved it around to others to signal his SUPERIORITY IN STATUS; he wasn’t planning on parting with what he considered his wealth, and primal to stroking his ego for psychic survival, to give his father-in-law what he
deserved in relation. The previous article detailed Eris narcissistic delight, but this article takes this ‘wanting reward without having worked for it’ desire and forced action further, with a concept called the SPECIAL PASS or GOLDEN TICKET, that explores the entitlement further.
It’s a metaphorical pass or ticket, that ENTITLED a SPOILT BRAT to stomp their feet and make demands, because they felt threatened or jealous of what another had and wanted it for themselves, so that they can feel SATISFIED by another’s jackpot.
It’s a hypothetical situation where everyone in their life habitually stepped in, to cater to, and to make things happen when tantrums were thrown, threats or accusations made, to give to the spoilt brat; so they can celebrate their victory over an innocent person they felt THREATENED and BOTHERED by. Yet the accomplices were placating, obliging and providing to the spoilt brat what was not theirs, and what they did not energetically deserve. There were no ETHICS involved on anybody’s part, perhaps because they got bribed, paid or given perks for their service. Why? Because the pass or ticket entitled the spoilt and demanding to obtain, and be given on a silver platter whatever they lusted or obsessed after. It’s COGNITIVE DISSONANCE. This adds another dimension to the strong drive regarding entitlement to having anything, and entrapping innocent people for satisfaction, in Eris energy.
Ixion and Odysseus were both kings, and Paris a prince, and this POSITION OF POWER over others god-complex were their PERMISSION SLIP for self-enrichment: to justify wrongdoing, injustice, or committing crimes to satisfy their greed for luxury lifestyle.

The Yin/Yang symbol shows the interplay of opposites which creates our world, and how that relates to karma playing out between people, also those who put up the false appearance to be ON TOP. It entails the process of balancing what we call karma, which broadly entails the INTENT and ACTIONS of an individual, that influence their future. What comes around goes around as it pertains to Eris energy entails the false projections of the player, coming around to bite them in the ass.
It’s the deliberate drama starting of chaos intended to harm another, manifesting in the life of the player as a beam of spotlight. What they put out, is what they get back. It’s the poetic justice for mirroring and false projections, for making bad low vibrational choices. There is a saying: “live by the sword, die by the sword” that also means “what goes around comes around”.
If a power monger treats other people badly they will eventually be treated badly by someone else. You should not mistreat others.
This is Eris energy, and those who refuse to learn their lessons, nor take RESPONSIBILITY, need to open their eyes to the psychopathic self-harm and repercussions of their actions.
It’s the reality created for another, becoming their own. It’s the false projections on another person, resulting in the same hall of mirrors horror results. They are creating their own reality, and they are turning themselves into whatever vile smear campaign they were projecting. It cannot be otherwise… When vanity-driven traitors send another chaos or hopelessness, expect to receive some of the same. Whatever you are creating, you are creating for yourself. Eris higher expression deals with truth, is highly intelligent and are just. Eris higher expression believes in the art of learning and teaching. They wield their sword to cut free, cut loose, and to CORRECT. This cutting is not to watch another person bleed, it is more so to teach a lesson of value. Eris higher expression is nurturing as well, but the truth needs to be known. Eris higher expression will stand on their truth no matter what. They will call out the jealousy and greed of other people, who want to cut them down from being great, because their excellence is making the other parties look a certain way in comparison. As Eris transits progress, no amount of gaslighting can hide the truth in the house of public image, as it rises to the surface. During Eris transits, being in competition with and digging a grave for another person is really not smart, as it entails illumination of the whole scheme eventually. Eris transits can initially make karmic power mongers feel invincible as if they got away with the hubris of dastardly deeds, yet it gives them time to come to their senses, repent and change. Eris energy allows free will. And when people make the choices to indulge in the low vibrational, they may think they got away with it for quite some time (even years), yet this may be giving them time to hang themselves properly, and then be seen for the whole plot eventually.

Varuna brings an emphasis on karmic responsibility in relationship, societal affairs and what is valued, and the importance of emotion. It is the principle of natural order which regulates and coordinates the operation of everything in the universe; revealing itself as a moral law governing and regulating human conduct. Violating this results in destruction or chaos.
Sirius is the brightest star and signifies the BEAUTY, allure, jackpot and shining brightly that bothers the jealous and turns them into a scorching antagonistic hater.
Sirius at the apex of this Yod makes for fame, renown and inspirational leaders that are so innate in Eris energy. This happens in the fourth house of home and solid foundation. Destruction, disregard for others, and inversion is so prominent in Eris energy, and this is better understood by studying the Hammer of Thor aspect pattern and apex in Eris’ discovery chart. Malefic fixed star Algol at 26 degrees Taurus squares trans-Neptunian object Orcus, and this feeds into the Boomerang Yod, in an inverted manner. This makes the Sun in the 10th house the Hammer of Thor apex, and this dynamic explains why Eris energy entails this hammering of annihilation, mental imbalance and disregard on the Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house.
Algol squares Orcus creating hellish tension and destruction for the Sun in the house of public attention. It’s someone in relation’s BRIGHT LIGHT that irritates another’s DEMONS that causes them to be DISLOYAL, to cut them. To destroy another’s life for personal benefit.

It is in the nature of a Hammer of Thor aspect pattern to wreak absolute obliteration on its apex, which is partly why rulers, leaders and empires fall during Eris transits. Ixion, Paris and Odysseus were all TRIPPING ON A HIGH, swollen in pride and fame, and in INVERSION OF REALITY about what they felt they ‘deserved’.
Ixion felt entitled to his generational wealth and to act however he pleased due to kingly privilege and ownership of inheritance. Paris felt entitled to the status symbol of the most beautiful woman - even though she was another man’s wife - but due to having obtained her with goddess Aphrodite’s bribe to make her fall in love with him, he felt justified. Odysseus felt entitled to the pride of taking Troy down and its wealth, and the hubris of this fame as a cunning man made him felt entitled to raiding other Greek islands as well. None of these greedy men WORKED for, or EARNED ON MERIT what they were indulging in, in the 10th house of public eye. There was also a FAULTY FOUNDATION as there wasn’t an authentic reason to be shining brightly for one’s appearance of beauty in
foundation or home (4th house) for it was based off the wealth of another, someone’s loss of fortune and honour, and an injustice of some sort to top it off. It’s unsavoury and lacking in integrity…
The Hammer of Thor apex is where the destruction takes place, for a levelling to ground zero for all (Sun in Capricorn 10th house). The Sun shines the brightest during the day, where at night it is planet Sirius’ luminosity. Both rule the vibrancy that an ENVIED person carries that the ENVIER wants to demolish so they can take pride having taken another down. There is also a Yod with powerful energy directed at Sirius and Varuna which entails social justice for a person shining brightly for their light and beauty. The justice for this cockamamie comes in the form of a growth opportunity for those who carry great fortitude. This is after someone tried to crush them by anchoring in an ending for them, and didn’t want them seen in the LIGHT of who they really are, as the Wheel of Fortune dynamic show…
In the modern day tarot, the opposite of THE DEVIL card… is STRENGTH. The Devil card represents the shadow (or darker) side and the negative forces that constrain a player and hold them back from being the best version of themself, like the limiting beliefs and unhealthy behaviours. The Strength is the image of THE EMPRESS and her achievement of having tamed the inner beast; its inner strength, feminine grace and fortitude. It is the power of true compassion, the kind of inner strength that we aspire to, that can be so hard to embody in challenging circumstances. It is forgiving someone who has caused you harm. It is overcoming lust when you know that it is the right path for you to resist the low vibrational madness.
Cosmic Composition: Who is on Top of the Wheel of Fortune and The Fall from it
The Wheel of Fortune is about experiencing a chain of events that may feel like bad luck or karma, based on a series of choices, having created ripple effects. Perhaps they made a series of choices when they were feeling INVINCIBLE ON TOP of the Wheel, or when they were not seeing how everything ties together, and then the energy they put out, the choices that they made, or the action they took, are all unfolding, along with what was destined anyway. It’s the series of events that keep rippling into larger circles of events, that stem from an original seed of INTENTION.
In terms of Homer’s Iliad it was the allegiance to THE SACRED OATH OF TYNDAREUS that brought the coalition of Greeks to retrieve Helen from Troy. These men were bound to this oath in the public eye (10th house) out of principle and honour, yet in the pursuit to win at all cost, they could not hide their true colours. The Achaeans went to war with A CAUSE but with ulterior motives, to pillage the empire’s riches for themselves. Many eventually died in ruin like Agamemnon and Paris, but not Achilles who was seen as the only epic hero of the Trojan War.
The Iliad and Odyssey puts a massive spotlight on CHARACTER, VIRTUE and INTEGRITY in the harsh social setting of power mongers who want to be seen for public acclaim.
Paris and Ixion met their doom, but Odysseus experienced many trials that led to him eventually being forced to SELF-REFLECT and make different choices, that led to his GROWTH and STRENGTH…
Eris in astrology demands that we consider, grow, evolve, learn, and elevate with the Wheel of Fortune that moves the righteous forward, but some will NOT do what is required to grow, evolve or change, preferring the comfort zone of a superficial, materialistic value system that leads to competition and disaster.
Eris energy is all about consideration vs disaster, and ultimately, each person for them self.

According to Wikipedia, at the top of the wheel is a SLAVE standing on the head of a KING with a crown and sceptre, and at the bottom is the head and shoulders of a POET with laurel wreath, looking towards goddess Fortune's feet.
This painting is said to have been originally conceived as part of the predella for an unrealised triptych on the FALL OF TROY.
It reminds of the biblical reference of “the last shall be first, and the first shall be last”, and how that wheel can put the most unexpected person at the top, at a “Judgement day”, when there is a reckoning of sorts.
It’s also the tyrants, liars and thieves being burdened at the potential of good people getting what they deserve, or things being made fair, as the Wheel of Fortune turns, because they WANT TO HOLD ON TO what they unrighteously took. There are many examples of this, like Zeus who wanted allay his insecurities thus scheming the Trojan war, and Paris who stole the most beautiful woman in the world Helen for self-aggrandisement. Also Agamemnon who wanted to keep status symbol Briseis from Achilles to puff his ego. Also Ixion wanted to keep the fortune for himself, that he had pledged as dowry to his new father-in-law. None of these men wanted to lose what they had obtained UNRIGHTEOUSLY, nor the skewed perception and feeling of thrill ‘being on top of the world’, as they perpetuated INJUSTICES.
Thieving, lying, manipulating and creating unfairness are their golden ticket to feel good… They don’t want the defeat and humiliation that the Wheel brings… nor the emotional distress that they caused others.
The Wheel turning is about the righteous that have to be patient and wait for their time, allow for their healing and breakthrough, and the light at the end of the tunnel. Why? It’s the shadowy, jealous energy that is challenged by the light. It’s the anthesis of goodness, that wants to squash what is good. Why? Good people have goodness due to them; they bring the divinity and love energy onto this physical plane, and that is the opposite of lack, greed, suffering etc… It’s divinity expressing through individuals that allow their divinity in the physical body, who are showing another way and destiny towards blessings and wild abundance, and this is making the thieves, liars and tyrants feel discombobulated…
It may take some time for good fortune, spiritual legacy, and a blessing of a new beginning to manifest in the physical world as something tangible; like perhaps money, inheritance, property, career, role, title, relationship etc. The Wheel of Fortune is the practising of strength, and looking at the patterns that need to be recognised, to conquer the illusions, else it’s a repeat of the same result.
In an Eris karmic cycle, one party eventually gets to elevate into new energy, and the other may stay in karmic cycles at the bottom of the wheel. Why? One party learns valuable lessons and grows strength from it into wisdom, in order to BREAK GLASS CEILINGS, and the other may prefer to stay in the toxic fray. It’s living the unaware life, and the lower vibrational energies, that lead people down the wrong path… acting without caution, punishing innocent people, and rushing headfirst into bad situations without thinking, getting themselves stuck in corrupting energy… eventually hitting rock bottom in the throws of game playing. The tables turn and this makes those who prefer the low vibrational mad… for they have been around the KARMIC WHEEL many times… they know how it eventually works in wondrous ways to restore cosmic order… They fear it, for they don’t want to lose the spoils of warring against others and taking what is rightfully another’s. They may prefer SPIRITUAL BANKRUPTCY for it helps them win over others, squash their own INSECURITIES, and get that feel good ego inflation, yet at the same time they fear the PHYSICAL BANKRUPTCY that the Wheel quite often bring… It’s an oxymoron no matter how you look at it…
The Wheel of Fortune brings a cycling out of old energies of decay, suspension and being hanged, to make room for the new… The wheel brings the removal of obstacles and enemies, to clear the pathway to abundance…
What goes around comes around, you can’t just go blocking people from what they rightfully deserve, which is why obstacles are often removed by divine intervention. There is a due date on everything…
Goddess Fortune and Spinning The Wheel of Fortune

The earliest reference to the Wheel of Fortune, emblematic of the endless changes in life between prosperity and disaster, is from 55 BC. Even though classically the Wheel of Fortune can be favourable and disadvantageous, medieval writers preferred to concentrate on the tragic aspect, dwelling on downfall of the mighty (10th house) – serving to remind people of the temporality of EARTHLY THINGS.
In Roman mythology, Fortuna was the goddess of Luck, Fate, Prosperity, Success, and Fortune, and Tyche/Tykhe was the Greek equivalent. Ancient statues show Fortuna holding a cornucopia, a symbol of nurturing and all good things flowing in ABUNDANCE, and in the other hand, a ship’s rudder, which implied her power to steer the delicate lives of mortals. By using both objects, she was able to either bring happiness to the person’s life, or completely destroy the individual’s life instead.
At the top of the wheel, a person’s lifestyle was full of happiness and leisure. An individual at this level would live like a king. However, the wheel would eventually rotate and the person would begin to endure a miserable existence. Someone at the bottom hoped that Fortuna would eventually spin the wheel for them to come back on top, both metaphorically and financially.
This medieval wheel has four ‘stages’ represented by figures clinging to a wheel going in one direction. The figure rising is usually labeled regnabo (I shall reign), the one at the top is marked regno (I reign) and is often crowned, that descending is regnavi (I have reigned), and the writhing figure at the lowest point is sum sine regno (I have no kingdom). The victim is sometimes depicted as thrown from the wheel by gravity and centrifugal force, and sometimes as crushed under a wheel fit for a heavy cart. Medieval representations of Fortune emphasise her duality and instability.
Fortuna's identity as personification of CHANCE events regarding those who reigned was closely tied to STRENGTH OF CHARACTER, another Sun 10th house Capricorn association.
The Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house in the Boomerang Yod is one of multiple signatures of the Wheel of Fortune / jackpot / pinnacle of success / reign dynamic in Eris energy. In astrology, the Part of Fortune is associated with goddess Fortuna, and is at 6 degrees Aquarius in Eris’ discovery chart. Fortuna is also one of the largest asteroids in the main-belt asteroids (minor planet designation 19), similar to Ceres, and is at 28 degrees Capricorn conjunct Chiron in Eris’ chart; which is an excellent signature embodying changeable luck and fortune in life path, as was explored in the story of Homer’s Achilles in the Iliad. The Rock Bottom, Judgement, Ego Flare Up, and Fall of the Empire of the Gaslighting Player
Everything happens energetically before it manifests physically. When Eris transits start, they tend to reveal what had been obfuscated (often for a long time). People’s true colours and inner workings become apparent, and it can be frightening, because they don’t want to answer to what they did, that had set the Wheel in motion.
The vibrational difference between two polarities (players and goddesses) become immense and irreconcilable, to the point that it makes people’s chests tight; they’re bothered.
Vibrational difference entails friction and incompatibility. If forced together, an injustice or betrayal due to jealousy, envy or greed, in some form, is inevitable… and this atrocity is what leads to The Wheel of Fortune that has to turn, and also the fall of the conniving player in devil energy.
The heated and feeling distraught player doesn’t want to look like the bothered person who has a problem with another’s success or beauty that grabs and thrusts at their heart (jealousy, envy, rivalry), which is why they deflect, shoot, and steamroller the energy off onto the envied, to be slick instead.
They often want to appear to have control over another’s destiny, with falseness, half-truths and lies. Or worst case; gaslighting or a gang stalking witch hunt delirium rooted in revenge. These are the mask-wearing tricksters who are desperate to interject themselves into another’s business and exert their negative influence; to have power, authority and victory over them.
This evil eye is their reaction in habitual pain/fear response and mentality due to how they feel in response.
When they feel this way, they don’t go within to think about their bad reaction or study the PSYCHOLOGY behind their bad behaviour, they just want to act out and hurt somebody. They feel so much pain and anguish, and don’t know how to separate all these discombobulated emotions that feels like living a nightmare, which leads to falsification of “evidence” and other bullshit, to justify to themselves the instability and the anger. This gives temporary relief and satisfaction, that doesn’t last long…
It is this entanglement with their own pain and darkness, that ends up revealing the ruthless love of, and seduction of what is superficial, false, low vibrational, and all the frivolity that comes with it, that makes players choose clout, greed, money, status, admiration, ego, jealousy, fake friendships, playing people, bigotry, etc. over GENUINE INTEGRITY in relationship. Players look out for themselves. FRAGMENTED SHAPESHIFTERS cannot be in goddess energy in that moment, and cannot adjudicate fairly, nor faithfully within a group of people due to their prejudices (think Paris). Self-interest laced with the intent to confuse, create illusion and deception is their bias. It’s having gambled and being a saboteur, while dealing with power and security. It’s realising that using power for self-aggrandisement entails being easily manipulated; it’s an achilles heel.
Blasphemous Jekyll and Hyde Meddling with the Darker Side but being Two-Faced for Social Acceptance
In the 1886 Gothic novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Dr Jekyll is a kind, well-respected and intelligent scientist who meddles with the darker side of science, as he wants to bring out his 'second' nature.
He does this double personality through transforming himself into Mr Hyde - his evil alter ego who doesn't repent or accept responsibility for his evil crimes and ways.
This is a person with two very different sides to their personality, one good and the other evil. The professor was a real Jekyll and Hyde, sometimes kind and charming, and at other times rude and obnoxious. The names Jekyll and Hyde have become synonymous with multiple personality disorder, and a metaphorical personification of Freud's theory of the id, ego, and superego. The story has also had a sizable impact on popular culture, with the phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" being used in vernacular to refer to people with an outwardly good, but sometimes shockingly evil nature.
Jekyll’s fiancée was good natured Miss Carew, who was said to be a graceful, elegant young woman with spirit and a joy of life, who he murdered.
These boastful ‘TRIPPING ON A HIGH’ people want to be upstanding in society, desires to have the appearance of warmth, being inviting, having intelligence and goodness, but they are often co-dependent to drain other’s good energy, due to that investment in the bondage of low vibes.
It’s an inauthentic theatrical because the energy behind it is not authentic, nor trustworthy; it’s needy, greedy, co-dependent, obsessive, unsavoury, and addicted to obtaining and having something superficial or evil. They may be stuffing their feelings down, closed off, and be emotionally off balance, sinking deeper into a delirious mental state. It’s an acting out a role hoping for a self-satisfying gain, but this toxicity can become systematic; resulting in a deeply envious, wrathful person becoming enveloped in low vibrational devil energy.
It’s a trick that may lead to more jealous emotional meltdowns and vanity…
It’s like sinking into a tar pit, and then becoming the tar pit, becoming bogged in the bondage. To become the embodiment of the inauthenticity, insincerity or worst case, lies, and delusions in relationship, in the house of searching for meaning and moral values (Venus, Mercury, Pluto in Sagittarius in 9th house conjunction in Eris’s discovery chart). It’s becoming LUCID on the lies and illusions.
Like a fallen angel that fall from grace, asleep and not seeing that they are falling. It’s the corrupting influence of Pluto on trickery Mercury (perception) and Venus (love, empathy and relationship)… It’s destruction of BEAUTY, PASSION, VALUE and HARMONY in the house of vision for the future; to make a person think that their ideals and vision had gone down the drain (also see the mutual reception of Neptune in Aquarius in the 11th house and Uranus in Pisces in the 12th house which is also highly idealistic, but with shocking surprises in the house of secret enemies, and illusions in the house of hopes and dreams.)
Can you see how the faustian power-monger who causes wounding or suffering, may have initially found temporary satisfaction in disadvantaging another, to have DOMINION over them in vanity? Then realising too late that they have disadvantaged them self… with mental imbalance, hands stained in wrongdoing, and obsession.
These obsessions can take a person down a slippery slope, becoming that which they chose; more distorted and deeper into their shadow side. More into self-deception. Ruin. Losing the link to reality, and perhaps becoming irrational. This is how people eventually realise that they had sold their soul to superficial values, mental imbalance; the devil. Feeling empty, lacking meaning, drifting. What you subscribe to, is who you become. When you overly obsess or focus on others, instead of finding your own unique spark, it can lead to great dissatisfaction when you see that you cannot compare with other’s unique authenticity and greatness. Becoming dark and filled with malice brings more of the devil energy that stops people from being the authentic star of their own life.
When you allow the conceit and corruptive influences to keep you in stagnancy or toxicity this brings great sorrow.
When you are not authentic, truthful and honest with yourself and others, the goodness may not come to your door, as it cannot find an authentic address. Devilish behaviour may temporarily deliver a superficial, materialistic lifestyle to gain some temporary satisfaction from, but it doesn’t really deliver the other goodies in life worth having… And at what cost?
The wheel of fortune steps in and turns, and those who positioned themselves on pedestals may get exposed, knocked down and even knocked out completely as there is a Boomerang Yod reaction point on the Sun in the house of public standing...

Players who had been in competition coveting other’s blessings may to find themselves at the bottom of the Wheel of Fortune towards the end of Eris transits, looking up at the renewed fortune and rewards that others may be enjoying.
This is why Eris low vibrational player’s jealousy, wrath, anger, and instability are triggered by seeing a hint of another’s beauty or good energy, and why the seething want to create burdens or a downplay of the envied’s value.
It’s like an unhealed troll goblin creature hiding in the dark watching, and if it sees the glowing essence of love or joy, it will pounce, because it feeds on this cup of love. The beast gets mad at the sight of it too, so it must grab, steal or destroy the honourable, loveble and upstanding. Becoming more obsessed that someone might get a blessing, grow or self-actualise…
Yet in the vindictive cutting down and digging of a grave for another person, they did not realise that they might fall into the despair meant for another, themselves… bringing about the collapse of their own empire, fortune, or legacy, by violating natural law that govern what is fair energy exchange between life forms.
This is why police officers and investigators have their hands full, and prisons are filled to the brim. It’s Eris Vice and Virtue… and the lunacy that stems from jealousy after drawing comparison.
Some will not make those good choices, to look within at their own broken hearts… to heal and find their own pot of gold inside, nor make a series of healthy choices to find prominence in their own eyes. It’s spiritually bankrupt to prefer the vice of superficial values and low vibrational enjoyments… but we are all RESPONSIBLE for our own choices, and we shall live by them.
Eris energy entails those who initially wanted another to have a mental imbalance, perhaps having an increase of it for themselves… It is the nature of Eris energy that has to be understood, else you dig a very deep grave for yourself indeed.
Inversion of Reality: Player Pity Party, Martyr, Victimhood and Poor Me
In the Eris juxtaposition there is no middle road regarding ideals, motivations, and genuine qualities.
It is the bad seeds sown and bad choices that people had made that brings them the bad outcomes. The energy of Eris square Pluto will still be in effect until 2024, which entails the abuse of power being seen. Then Eris conjuncts Chiron, Jupiter and later Saturn.
Masks that secretly disloyal masqueraders used to hide behind come off during Eris transits, for true colours and intentions to be seen, and there is a sense of HOPELESSNESS as the conflict of interest is seen, between those who want to continue to take a gain from abusing power in relationship or taking another down… As the wheel brings in bad luck for playerish, clever antagonists, some turn to bemoaning their fate in victimhood, pity party and poor me, after not getting the anticipated jackpot. Those ‘TRIPPIN’ ON A HIGH’ players who had violated natural law, without taking responsibility, may eventually be in despair due to their INVERSION OF REALITY. He had become ADDICTED to what he was getting from keeping Helen trapped, and in ‘withdrawal’ from what he had been extracting from her for his own psychic survival.
Helen didn’t belong to Paris, and after the Trojan War, Menelaus took his stolen wife back.
Look at the deep emptiness, melancholy haze, and resentful, disillusioned face of the villain Paris of Troy to the left. Clearly he is feeling victimised that the truth is out, and karma is hitting him hard. He certainly doesn’t look pleased with the outcome of his malice; based on his grandiose persona that hid a secretly fragile self-image… It is said that individuals with narcissistic personality disorder can experience a serious depression when their perfect facade cracks. Failure and criticism brings Paris in touch with vulnerable feelings he preferred to disown. Often feeling intense shame or public humiliation at being ‘called out’ and forced by brother Hector to REFLECT on these energetic crimes in relationship. Why?
There is not enough compatibility in the Eris JUXTAPOSITION - between lower and higher Eris expression - because somebody seeks goodness, while the other seeks to ruin it for them.
Somebody is sweet, of light, and sincere, and the other is sweet to fool.
Someone wants harmony, and the other imbalance to spoil it for them.
Someone seeks true life purpose, and the other purpose in mind games to control.
Someone wants justice, and the other to create that injustice, and perpetuate it as long as possible.
The barge of opposition and resistance is overwhelming, that’s why there is often no middle ground, and no reconciliation worth having between the two parties. The ruin and disgrace is total.
Eris higher expression people - who love themselves - are typically not willing to go along with this kind of abusive behaviour, that mocks divine order.
It is often towards the end of Eris transits, that low vibrational players recognise that those who they targeted, may have been a gift in their life, and now they have lost their blessing through a narcissistic discard, due to their own folly…
Self-satisfying power seeks dominion over others, but in the action of sucking in, and indulging in, all that energy - like a vampire - and violating other’s energy, that too collapses… eventually…
Ego death.
Narcissistic collapse.
Gaslighting exposed.
Inverted ruin and disgrace.
Dark night of the soul.
Eris is about goddesses and players, and how neither believes in the dreams or ideals of the other, because the gap is just too wide; one always pulls the other down. The Judgement of Paris as part of Eris’s mythology, is about the exploitation of the feminine nature and female form. Note that this is not a battle between males and females, because a male for example, can carry either player or goddess energy, and visa versa.
Apocalypse: A Principle Brings down the House of Cards, and the Collapse of Narcissistic Empires
A principle is a fundamental truth, and this is revealed, perhaps towards the end of Eris transits.
When Eris cycles and Eris lower vibrational energy is studied in great detail, it becomes obvious that it is veraciously power hungry. It wants to suck everything and anything up that looks like power, for satisfaction. It’s self-serving. However, towards the end it can cause increased tremendous suffering, because a principle is a moral rule or standard of honourable behaviour or fair dealing, but the Eris juxtaposition reveals the falsehood.
This is a signal that the end may be near, for a complete collapse of the corruptive energy. Remember that in Eris’s mythology it talks about Paris (and inadvertently Zeus) creating the dominoes that led to the collapse of an empire with their bad choices involving abuse of power…
Total collapse of the old, and a fall from grace, is what often happen towards the end of Eris transits. Eris energy demands total change and a reckoning; a return to ground zero.
What was built on a faulty foundation of hidden ill intentions, lies, greed, manipulation, psychological entrapment, etc. has to be exposed. The infatuation with destruction is not sustainable. The veil needs to be lifted for all to be revealed on the things that people refuse to REFLECT on.
We are all divine beings who came here for the human experience, not to fall from grace, and then stay disconnected forever… Somewhere along the line, someone needs to be put in a massive time out; forced to come out of denial, and have to opportunity to grow and connect with the
honest truth within… An apocalypse a prophetic revelation, especially concerning a cataclysm in which the forces of good triumph over the forces of evil, where the heavens open up for an opportunity to reconnect human with the divine. It’s a potential to change the narrative and start a new life.
We all have free choice, but when people do something bad or negative in one way shape of form, there has to be a balancing out. This is done by getting the experience in time-out, to feel what the other party felt when they were screwed over, as a choice.

3. saying what one genuinely feel or believe, not being dishonest or hypocritical;
4. showing you really mean what you say.”

It’s about understanding the relationship between consciousness and energy. Karma is like a magnetic force, and this was described in the previous article, where the continual indulgence in the low vibrational, becomes a pattern and a way of life, that leads to unconscious behaviours that are so egregious, that one has to be forced to sit and think about it (sometimes from within a jail cell). This is the unfinished business that keeps drawing a person back in, to commit the same crimes in relationship, never learning one’s lessons, nor coming to wisdom about the cause and effect of it. What needs to happen, is to have closure on one cycle of life, so that one can start afresh anew being SINCERE and the story of Greek poet Homer’s Odysseus is the perfect example…
Odysseus: Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey as Eris Energy in Astrology Lessons and Experiences

Part 7 in the Eris Vanity and Clout Chasing Series details the story of Achilles in Homer’s Illiad, and the story ends with Achilles dying from a poisoned arrow to the achilles heel, shortly after the death of Prince Hector and Paris of Troy.
The Iliad is the story that includes Eris throwing an apple into the wedding crowd, and getting blamed for starting the Trojan War.
But Eris’ apple was just one of the many dominoes that led to the Trojan War planned by Zeus, foresaw by Themis and executed by many accomplices. The followup poem from Homer’s Iliad is called Odyssey, and it centres around Odysseus who was a highly intelligent man, but who used his intelligence to harm and be cunning, in one of the most devious plans ever, to deceive the Trojans… Ulysses was the latin/roman variant of his name.
Odysseus was also renowned for his intellectual brilliance, guile, and versatility, and is thus known by the epithet ‘Odysseus the Cunning’ who had the ability to think himself out of tough situations.
According to Wikipedia, in the Iliad and Odyssey Homer uses several epithets to describe Odysseus, starting with the opening, where he is described as "the man of many devices". It literally means the man of many turns, and other translators have suggested alternate English translations, including "man of twists and turns" and "a complicated man".
In the Iliad, King Menelaos tells that "no one of the Achaians labored as much as Odysseus labored and achieved" (4.106); his friend Eurylochos says "You are a hard, man, Odysseus. Your force is greater, your limbs never wear out. You must be made all of iron" (12.279-80). His hardworking quality made him a good leader. Odysseus’ greatest strength was probably his bravery and wisdom, as he would take on Achilles in practice combat, and even inherited his sacred armour in competition after his death.
Odysseus’ character was deeply contradictory as he was both a cunning champion and a vainglorious braggart. He was a TRICKSTER par excellence, and one of the earliest and most successfully deceitful engines of war, attacking the empire of Troy to completely destroy everything, after having devised great stealth. After the death of Achilles, Odysseus seemed to have grown sick obsession with Troy’s ruin, with deliberate pre-meditated targeting.
The Achaeans formed this coalition to retrieve Helen (Menelaus’ stolen wife), and for that he might have been recognised, but just like the other kings he had ulterior motives and ill intentions in the form of plundering the riches of the empire of Troy (2nd house), to forcefully ‘inherit’ wealth for himself (8th house).
After ten years attempting to win the Trojan war by eating away at the Trojan army was fruitless, he schemed an unholy devious win at all cost plan…
Odysseys was the most trusted advisor and counsellor of king Agamemnon, who was the leader of the Greek coalition against Troy. With the installation of the Trojan Horse, he wanted to make them believe that the Greeks had lost their nerve, and had returned back to Greece. But it was only a RUSE to gain entrance into Troy, via the deceptive-looking horse… After the retreat of the Achaean fleet the Trojans accepted the seemingly ‘gifted’ horse into the walls of Troy, leading to its demise. After the retrieval of Helen, the sacking of the Empire of Troy and its total devastation, every king and army who came to fight, returned to their home country with the spoils of war.
However, swollen with pride and fame for his artifice, crafty Odysseus would not see his home country for another 10 years, as his journey home brought him much defeat and humiliation as punishment for foolish and reckless behaviour.
Odysseus and his crew were TRIPPIN’ ON A HIGH and in INVERSION OF REALITY from the deceptive scheme that demolished Troy and made the Achaeans the victors, as the video below details. The Achaeans and Odysseus didn’t deserve what they had stolen from Troy either… despite the justifications made to create burdens for others.
The writer of this article, doesn’t mean to say that battle-wounded ‘soldiers’ need to suffer in penance for all that they had done wrong. Rather, that the journey from lower expression to higher expression Eris entails becoming a healthy, feeling and sensing human being.
It entails becoming empathic, sympathetic and compassionate, which entails feeling what others feel, and ‘coming to one’s senses’…. having a heart…
Also feeling what it would feel like to have injustices be perpetrated on, or have dark manipulative energy like witchcraft be projected on, perhaps when one is innocent, hungry, in need, or not necessarily deserving of the heartless, forceful, merciless attacks.
This process entails growing from life experience and experiencing an increase, by building towards becoming someone with very different values and moral character… This often happens only after an Eris dark night of the soul experience which is what became Odysseus’ reality…
Forceful Theft at Cicone Backfiring
Odysseus’ ships needed restocking of supplies before they returned to homeland Ithaca, a Greek island, and the many challenges the men faced, led to hunger, feeling entitled to plundering other Greek island’s abundance as well. However, during this time Odysseus and his men would have all manner of life experiences… having to learn life lessons. Homer impresses that the intention of these trials were the learning experience behind it; they were not random occurrences.
During conceited Odysseus’ first huge trial on the way home, he and his men made the mistake out of SWOLLEN PRIDE, GREED, ARROGANCE and OVER-ESTIMATING themselves during a raid the town of Cicone for supplies. They tried to take everything they could lay their hands on, which led to reinforcements arriving who would attack Odysseus’ warriors unexpectedly, with a hasty retreat back to their twelve ships. They had to leave without their ILL-GOTTEN GAINS. Odysseus likely learnt that the villagers might have shared with them, had they not been so keen on raiding everything from them. Bad energy doesn’t bring good outcomes.
After this they were driven off course severely by an ocean storm, which was just the start of the misfortune, chaos and loss…
Odysseus visited the lotus-eaters who gave his men their fruit which caused them to forget their homecoming. Odysseus had to drag them back to the ship and leave, else succumb to the islander’s deceptive drug.
The Giant and the Arrogance that got Odysseus Punished with Misfortune for 10 Years
One of Odysseus’ biggest trials would be the encounter with giant Polyphemus on the island of the Cyclops, who tried to trap the man who had ensnared Troy in a trap.
Odysseus and his men landed on a lush island and unbeknownst to them, entered the cave of Polyphemus, where they found all the cheeses and meat they desired and they indulged. Upon returning to his cave, Polyphemus sealed the entrance with a massive boulder and proceeded to eat Odysseus' men. Odysseus devised an escape plan in which he, identifying himself as "Nobody," plied Polyphemus with wine and blinded him with a wooden stake. When Polyphemus cried out, his neighbors left after Polyphemus claimed that "Nobody" had attacked him. Odysseus and his men finally escaped the cave by hiding on the underbellies of the sheep as they were let out of the cave.
PRIDE was Odysseus’ greatest character flaw, which morphed into hubris, and arrogance.
Odysseus had managed to outsmart the giant’s trap and made the mistake to brag about his ingenuity and taunt the giant as they slipped away. He was conveying how PRIDEFUL he was about being so sneaky and brave to be cunning, however, by revealing his true identity in arrogance, it would cause sea god Poseidon (Neptune) to ensure that he wandered the seas for 10 years in punishment. Odysseus had to learn to NOT TAKE REWARD WITHOUT EFFORT in relationship exchange. Also, he had to learn the lessons of indulging in HUBRIS, and how important HUMILITY was. Evading Circe’s Magic and Negative Persuasive Power
The journey of Odysseus talks of him being trapped where he didn’t want to be, encountering thieves, bandits, schemers, fraudsters, killers etc. and having multiple women fall over their feet to keep him seduced, or BOXED into isolating situations that didn’t suit him. In Eris’ discovery chart the asteroid Circe at 12 degrees Scorpio is conjunct the Moon and Ceres in Scorpio in the 7th house of partnerships. The deep Scorpio themes highlight issues around LOYALTY.
The witch-goddess / sorceress / enchantress Circe from the island of Aeaea pictured below, tried to entrap and manipulate his free will with her CHARMS, DRUGS, MAGIC POTIONS and SPELLS, and turned his men into pigs. Circe did spell work, and was skilled in magic of illusion and transmutation. When Odysseus enters Circe’s palace for the first time to seek the release of his men, he immediately feels “anguish”. This again shows the power that Circe has over the men who enter her palace. Depicting that aside from the drug, the goddess seems to have a NEGATIVE, PERSUASIVE POWER over their spirits. Circe is portrayed as a goddess using
manipulative powers beyond that of just her magic wand. However, Circe’s power is kept in check by the moly plant… It was Hermes that had previously warned Odysseus about Circe, given him multiple instructions, and a drug called moly, which resists Circe's magic. Circe, being attracted to Odysseus' resistance, fell in love with him and released his men. It was by following Hermes’ good advice, that Odysseus managed to save the day, however, life on the island with Circe enchanted him and his men to the point that they were detained there for a full year. Circe was a selfish female who wanted to seduce and TRICK Odysseus to keep him to herself despite him being a married man, and committed elsewhere. She was actively ignoring his desires and keep him as her lover. With this experience, Odysseus learnt what TRUE STRENGTH meant. Anyone could become a schemer that disadvantages others by trying to bend their free will, but few learn that true strength lies in being able to calm yourself, be in INTEGRITY and not try to dominate other people; to master your own fears and anxieties instead, in order to overcome challenges. (Trying to control other people is Eris lower expression, there is nothing good in controlling others, only in controlling the Self.)
Circe’s attempt at corrupting Odysseus’ will wasn’t going to yield her joy or happiness. Circe didn’t anticipate that Odysseus would grow INNER STRENGTH, or RESILIENCE and that Odysseus would manage to be released from her grasp - with her help and blessing to see him leave - having learnt to tame the inner beast first.
As they first left Circe’s island, they made a visit to the Underworld to obtain valuable advice on how to return home safely and recover his kingdom. Many others would also try to trap, trick, manipulate or kill Odysseus thereafter.
The Distractions and Misfortunes of the Sirens
The most famous of his trials, was the encounter with the Sirens where he pushed himself to the limit by ordering his crew to tie him up on the mast of the ship as the lure of the songs of the Sirens nearly drove him mad. He had his men put wax in their ears so they would not hear the seduction of the Sirens, and everyone be lured to their doom. Here he learns that he must not indulge in DISTRACTIONS, else he strays from his intended path and yearning to be home. It is important to be FAITHFUL and LOYAL to one’s goals above the temptations.
After getting through the Sirens, the crew had to get by the monsters, called Scylla and Charybdis. Odysseus had to sacrifice six of his men by going past Scylla as opposed to losing the whole ship if they were to go by Charybdis. Here he learnt the lesson of having to SACRIFICE FOR THE GOOD OF THE WHOLE.
Offending Sun god Helios
In the encounter of Odysseus’ men with the sacred cattle of sun god Helios, he suffered the repercussions of his men’s transgressions as they slaughtered the sacred livestock. Odysseus expressly told his men not to touch the sacred cattle, but as he fell asleep, the hungry men ignored the warnings given by Circe and from the Underworld by Tiresias; they hunt them down for a feast. Helios demanded punishment, which came in the form of a thunderstorm that caused the ship to go down drowning all but Odysseus. The loss of his entire crew saddened him immensely but this taught Odysseus to learn the lessons that his comrades deaths taught; HEED GOOD ADVICE when it is given and DON’T MESS WITH PEOPLE’S FREE WILL.
Calypso’s Jealous One-sided Love Affair, and Narcissistic Grasp Trap
When Odysseus first appears in the epic Odyssey, it is ten years after the Trojan war and he is restless and weeping on the shore of an isolated island called Ogygia, watched over by the goddess Calypso, whose name, meaning “one who hides” further emphasises his isolation and separation. Calypso was one of the earliest known feminists in Greek mythology. She complained about inequalities, and being looked down on for her multiple partner sexual preferences, but complained about other Greek gods abducting goddesses to serve their own temptations, read about it here. The very issues that Calypso had, compelled her to treat Odysseus in the same unfair manner. Some accounts say that Odysseus got to enjoy the seductresses sensual pleasures as her prisoner every night. Others say Calypso compelled him to remain as her lover for seven years, during which she raped him. The point is that she kept him there against his will and under her thumb; she was extremely CLEVER and MANIPULATIVE. Calypso was extremely jealous of his wife Penelope, and RESENTED every single mention of her. Calypso promised Odysseus immortality if he would stay with her, but Odysseus preferred to return home. He was crying many days in despair - in a dark night of the soul experience - because he wanted desperately to be with his wife Penelope and son in Ithaca. The memory kept him longing for them. Instead, he was literally ‘lost in the wilderness’ unable to find his way home; being intimate with and being disloyal to both women in partnership because one would not set him free to follow his heart’s desire…
Calypso cast a SPELL over Odysseus, and detained him from following his heart’s desire. Odysseus had fell into great despair and pent up misery, because of her control of him; thwarting his return to Ithaca. It was only after goddess Athena intervened after seven years, that selfish Calypso was compelled to release him from her grasp, unrequited love and all.
Inverted Disgrace and Reversal of Fortune - You Get what you Give
What happened to Odysseus on his voyage home is uncanny and surreal… What actions the cunning took and projected onto others, came back in his own experience… because he created that energy dynamic with his intentions for others. He found himself amongst many like-minded two-faced people, zoned in on him, to put him in a cruel hostage situation, to drain him with snake behaviour, spells, mind control and psychological manipulation.
Odysseus wanted Troy with all its wealth destabilised, devalued, and fortune reversed, through his bold sneakiness and this is what came back to him… which is why he was feeling victimised and in need of rescue. He used his magic for another’s downfall, and then another used their advantage of physical strength, sexual allure, spiritual practice or WITCHCRAFT to keep him homesick and stuck. Odysseus was experiencing what intentions he had sent out for others. The crafty man who ensnared Troy, experienced many attempts of the same unethical cruel behaviour. Some wanted for his doom, for him to be striped of all stability, or to box him up in situations that was not in his best interest. Others were being forceful to keep the king as a PET - as if he was their object that they were entitled to - to do with as they
pleased for their entertainment. In a sense, these were similar phenomena based on the intentions and actions he had towards others, during his time as advisor to Agamemnon during the Trojan War. Eris energy is known to have ‘what you sow you reap’ energy dynamics. Odysseus wanted for Troy to be bottomed out with his cunning scheme to infiltrate using the Trojan Horse, and desire to win at all cost. Likewise, this is what many of the antagonists he encountered did to him, even when not knowing his true identity. They wanted power over him, unable to dodge their bullets. They were petty, cold and cruel to his feelings… to see Odysseus bottom out… They wanted to feed off of his energy like an energy vampire.
Ultimately, it was Poseidon’s anger with Odysseus and UNFORGIVENESS for injuring his son the giant Polyphemus by poking his eye out, that made Poseidon sink his ships, and made him wash up on dangerous islands. It appears that what goes around comes around… Odysseus’ HELLISH trials and near catastrophes were not those of fire and brimstone - although it certainly might have felt so - it was leading to a returning to ground zero, to become a grounded human being again.
Odysseus was learning that the same wickedness and ill intentions that he had wished on another’s life, was destroying his own. The energetic entanglement is an abomination.
For 10 - 20 years Odysseus longed to be home, but instead he was on an outer and inner journey where he cried many times from deep unhappiness…
Learning not to FORCE HIS WAY, NOR UTILISE STRATEGEM, as he did in the past.
He was learning that creating more karma, while trying to avoid karma, wasn’t working, and finally releasing what had become old and stagnant, by realising that it was not working in his favour.
Odysseus was eventually able to make genuine allies who had his best interest at heart, that would help him get back home, starting with his encounter with Nausicaa.
Shipwrecked he washed up NAKED and STRIPPED OF HIS OLD SELF on her island, he had no fight, nor artifice left in him… He knew he could no longer live a life of bad habits, disturbing other’s free will, tampering with their lives, or forcefully making things happen. He could no longer take other’s dignity, or dictate other’s choices, where he should heed wisdom and lessons learnt instead. As he landed on that island, he had cut ties to a past self, having taken accountability for his choices and behaviours that were crooked. His many challenges finally made him learn the worth of valuable INNER QUALITIES, which become visible in him taking different actions than he previously would have.
Odysseus / Ulysses was starting to heed his better judgement… at last…
Liminal Space and Reflection are Integral in Eris Energy
In the bigger picture, Odysseus had been in a liminal space, which is a transition between two states of being.
It’s the transformative period between what was, and what is to come. It comes from the Latin word that means ‘THRESHOLD’; to be on the precipice of something new, but not quite there yet…
Liminal spaces happen multiple times during a person’s life, especially during Eris transits.
A liminal space can be physically, emotionally, or metaphorically. Being in a liminal space can be incredibly uncomfortable for most people. It’s a rite of passage, and can even be
seen as a rite of separation, and a rite of incorporation. It’s the changes in people’s lives that follow this initiation pattern, that this astrologer know as Eris in astrology energy. Limited spaces can have massive effects on mental health, and Odysseus was certainly challenged greatly in this regard, as he was eventually forced to REFLECT on his choices and behaviour, and the results that it got him. Odysseus’ physical difficulties can be viewed as a metaphor for what is described as The Hero Journey by Joseph Campbell; as Odysseus matures he achieves a more complete understanding of himself and his place in the world on a psychological and spiritual level. At the conclusion of his journey, Odysseus is a better person, having conquered his own psychological restraints, and he returned home to use his new-found self-understanding to be a better, fairer king, husband, father, and son. Campbell’s Hero Journey consists of three stages: separation or departure; the trials and victories of initiation; and the return and reintegration with society.
Odysseus had to learn and grow as a human being to finally appreciate what being truely human meant in a spiritual awakening.
What felt like a downgrade as he was unable to make his way home, continually thwarted, and losing all his assets, in the end revealed itself to be a massive potential to upgrade himself instead… The Odyssey is a metaphor for a
journey full of uncertainty and adversities that are often outside of our control. But also, a journey with the potential for joy, love, and self-actualisation. Odysseus overcame his obstacles (e.g., including wrathful gods, chaotic storms, giant man-eating cyclopes, and a lustful witch, to name a few) by having a strong commitment to his goal of returning home. His mighty perseverance and hope, and the personal change and transformation he undergone, eventually got him the help from others he needed.
Odysseus was able to experience a spectacular HOMECOMING, when he finally was able to return to his like-minded wife Penelope and son Telemachus, after being away for 20 years in total. Watch the story below:

The lesson from Odysseus’ story is that you don’t have to plot, scheme and manipulate to the top with GREED, ARTIFICE and god-complex.
Also, that you don’t have to seek other people for opportunities, or use others to get what you desire by being corrupt. Goodness comes from the divinity within, by having integrity, by doing things righteously, and when the time is right… getting what one rightfully deserves as the Wheel of Fortune spins and changes.
In the end, it was Odysseus’ authenticity, truth, and his GENUINE, HEART-FELT tears, that got the Phaeacian court, King Alcinous, and princess Nausicaa on the island to find resonance with him in their hearts, and his situation, and help him get home to Ithaca. It took a haughty, stubborn man 10 long years to learn from his mistakes, grow in character, and start taking the RIGHT kind of ACTIONS based in consideration and wisdom.
In the stages of his integration back into Iife as the King of Ithaca, Athena goddess of Battle Strategy and Wisdom turned Odysseus into the appearance of an old man and beggar, in order to learn how things stand in his household.
The only one who recognised him was his dog and he found his property overrun with unruly suiters who wanted to marry his wife and become king. He was given refuge by his unknowing servant Eumaios. The two spoke at length, with his servant saying: “Let us take pleasure in our terrible pains: for after time a person finds joy even in pain, after they have wandered and suffered much.” In the SHARING OF THEIR STORIES they found power, knowing that the pain is in the past, and they each got a new understanding. Eris in astrology is the antagonist/protagonist dynamic, it’s the magic found in cinemas, open theatres etc.
With this disguise, Odysseus was challenged for the final time to apply all that he had learnt to rid Ithaca court of the chaos, rivals, backstabbers and enemies that had tried to take over in his absence, and prove himself worthy as the master of his world.
An odyssey has a purpose and is goal directed, even if the goal is to find one’s purpose. An odyssey demonstrates the strength of human spirit and the ability to push through the greatest adversity for an ideal or value beyond oneself. This idea is summarised in the famous quote by the philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche (later popularised by the psychiatrist, Viktor Frankel) – “those who have a why to live for can bear almost any how”. In other words, purpose builds RESILIENCE. An odyssey also gives meaning to suffering and hardship, which some view as being a requirement for human flourishing (e.g., development of personality, character, morality, and purpose).
Odysseus became an evolved personality due to a more honourable approach to life, having gained control over the inner conflicts, by being more centred and secure in moral, ethical process and conduct.
He found inner equilibrium by reconciling the opposing forces inside of himself, finally enjoying life at an accelerated pace, and being able to bring success to a multifaceted endeavour. Curiously, Odysseus got to spend many years in the company of reclusive goddess Circe and nymph Calypso, which suggests that he had plenty of opportunity to dwell in a receptive state of mind. Like the REFLECTIVE women, he perhaps came to enjoy living a life close to inspirational sources and perhaps the prolonged seclusion from society caused him to discover inside of himself the rich inner life of a fertile intuition. Perhaps this time led to a balancing between the inner masculine and feminine energies, which is what brought forth a more high-minded and honourable approach to life. Ultimately his TRIUMPH and VICTORY PARADE was well earned, for he had become a man of great leadership, competence and maturity (10th house) in his own household (4th house), than he could ever wish for otherwise. His homecoming, kingdom and affairs of the house was his home.
Odysseus returned to his homeland of Ithaca with the INNER QUALITIES of a powerful and fair king (Book 22, ll. 393- 399); a proud father of his son (Book 23, ll. 133-138; and truly loving husband to his wife (Book 23, ll. 259-261).
When does the Wheel of Fortune Change in one’s Favour?
The stories of Ixion, Paris, and Odysseus all entail the initial thinking of the Wheel of Fortune in terms of: when one party is up another should be down. It’s about not knowing or considering that there is abundance for everyone, which is balanced, graceful, emotionally intelligent Eris higher expression. As long as one person is on a ‘lack trip with insecurities’ due to envious gluttony, then they make others lose.
The 10th house Capricorn is the astrological domain of reputation, status, positions of power, respect, and one’s influence on others (like being an inspiration). It’s also the house of one’s contribution to society, humanity, ambition, wealth, and achievements in a particular field.
The tenth house is where YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW and everything having LONG TERM consequences of actions and repercussions. It comes back to a person, in one way or another. It’s the total effect of a person's actions, talents and conduct that creates a destiny or fate during the successive phases and cycles of one’s life. Venus Conjunct the Galactic Centre and Quantum Potentials
Venus and its cluster with Mercury and Pluto in Eris’ discovery chart is directly conjunct the galactic centre at 26 Sagittarius 54’. Planets in close orb to this highly significant sensitised degree in the zodiac points to the middle of our galaxy, the Milky Way, and entails access to our own subconscious and the higher spheres of consciousness. It’s not necessarily that the galactic centre is the source of this high energy, rather that it seems to having an activating influence on what is already innate within each human being, because as above so below.

Venus is beauty, harmony, love, purity, self-worth and connection to divine self (Venus conjunct GC). This is the healthy sensing and feeling, empathy and being a sweet person enjoying a sweet life, that is Eris higher expression. Gaslighting and distorted thinking for example, is the corrupted form of Mercury’s perception. These are all the good things that can go awry by getting caught up in superficial corruptive power dynamics instead, like the petty playground or the judgemental jungle (Venus conjunction with Pluto and Mercury).
Mercury isn’t within 2 degree orb to the galactic centre but due to the Venus conjunction, it’s not hard to see how this may entail the potential for major breakthroughs in thought, unexpected revelations, clarity and illumination.
Eris’ discovery chart shows two extremes in the Eris juxtaposition regarding lower expression Eris and higher expression Eris. The choice is very clear, it’s either to one extreme or the other, there is no fence sitting in between. Eris lower expression is invested in living in lies to self, where Eris higher expression is committed to truth to self.
Despite lovely Venus’s proximity to the potentially corruptive influences of both Mercury and Pluto in conjunction, she is also conjunct massive POTENTIAL to the other side… and that is the moral of the story…
It’s a visual representation of the choice to become either embittered and vengeful after being done dirty or corrupted by influence, or to forgive and become a loving, empathic person, to find new potentials as a divine being having a human experience.
It’s about transforming the pain and suffering of being energy harvested for one’s value and worth, into a greater capacity to love, be compassionate and abundant in one’s own quantum energy.
