Monkey Pox Global Health Emergency, Global Food Crisis, and Sedna in Astrology

The Global Health Emergencies that the World Health Organisation declares, is their highest alarm. Before April 2022, monkeypox virus infection in humans was seldom reported outside African regions where it is endemic. Currently, cases are occurring worldwide. What is the potential astrological expression behind this?

When the World Health Organisation announced a global health emergency on 31 January 2020 for Coronavirus, Haumea in Libra was sextile to Ixion in Sagittarius making a Yod apex on Sedna and malefic fixed star Algol. The Sedna Yod is about the respect for people, animals and the natural world being violated and betrayed, and how the natural world can come back to bite. Haumea, Ixion and later Varda are very interesting characters to have as Yod legs for this Yod, as Sedna, Ixion and Varda all carry signatures of betrayal, ingratitude, and treating benefactors unfairly… with a punishment as a result…

When World Health Organisation announced a global health emergency for Monkey Pox on 24 July 2022, the Sedna Yod was again active with apex on Sedna at 29 degrees Taurus; the crisis degree.

According to this report, WHO said the expanding monkeypox outbreak in more than 75 countries is an "extraordinary" situation that now qualifies as a global emergency. With 16,500 cases around the world, and Europe the hardest hit, cause need to be taken. It is reportedly a lesser version of smallpox.

According to this article, it was first discovered in 1958 in colonies of monkeys. The virus mostly occurs in western and central Africa and the first case in a human was recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1970. The symptoms usually last for two to four weeks and can include fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, back and muscle pain, lack of energy, and the lesions for which it is named. The disease causes a rash that turns to lesions filled with fluid or pus. Like other members of the pock family, think chickenpox and cowpox, it can leave permanent scars. Exploring the Astrological Symbology

To reiterate, the first support system drivers for the Sedna Yod, Haumea and Ixion, are strange bedfellows, especially with Ixion bringing its reckless, no-regard for others betrayal energy; not heeding the wheel of karma, as it relates to repeating the same karmic situations over and over again, not learning the lesson, eventually having to be punished with consequences. Varda later becomes a leg in the Yod, and betrayal is a major issue as well.

Sedna energy relates to unequal energy exchange between humans, and how some who are very greedy and materialistic force others to take a loss in relation, perhaps disregarding them as not having value. The strong Sedna themes around not ruining nature, and not taking more from nature’s animal populations than what we need, is another interesting aspect. In Sedna’s Inuit mythology, she was said to become very angry with hunters who took more food than they needed, or who would hoard, or desecrate nature. Sedna energy is also very much about the energy exchange between animals and humans, and when humans encroach too much on the natural lifestyle of animals, it is an abuse of their right to have a good life. In Sedna’s tale, eating meat and sustainably sourced animal products is acceptable, as long as the consumer is grateful and conscious of that animal having laid down its life, to nourish the human eater. In Sedna’s tale, being mistreated, thrown under the bus and being betrayed in the most brutal ways, had led to Sedna’s own strength of character, becoming the no-nonsense caretaker and symbol of mother nature’s renewal and generosity, yet with a catch. If rules are not adhered to, it was believed this angered Inuit deity Sedna greatly, for it was through the actions of humans that her animal populations dwindled, and are endangered.

It is humans who sinned against nature. Who committed offences against living beings and the natural world.

Some of her rules entailed respect for the life and spirit of the animals that hunters and eaters took for sustenance. Her dictates invariably also taught people to be in gratitude for what they do receive, and not take for granted those who give freely. Sedna reminds that consciousness and the law of reciprocity operates at all times amongst interconnected ecosystems. Also of the moral decay of those who stopped having reverence for all of life, perhaps wanting to make obscene profits off of others in unfair energy exchange.

There is a difference between the kind of sustainable livestock farming of the not-so-distant past, in which animals are raised on pasture, in the sunshine, having access to insects, and the social lifestyle that is natural to them.

Being able to raise their own young, and live in their own, natural communities. With humans as eaters and drinkers of their milk - in a sustainable, respecting manner - in what is part of the circle of life. Yet today’s corporate, profit-driven farming and food production methods are very different, and the energy exchange between the eater and the animal, have gone out of whack…

In late 2024, Ixion in Capricorn ceases being a leg / support system driver for the energy infused in the Sedna Yod. Another Kuiper belt object Varda takes over as support system driver, along with Haumea, taking the Sedna Yod beyond 2030.

The energy of Sedna manifesting represents the no–nonsense caretaker of humanity. Compassion with a hard edge, if you will, but a hard edge for good reason. For we cannot continue to abuse the source of our abundance and providence, without there being consequences…

Sustainable Food Systems and Industry-Led Government Red Tape that Disadvantage Consumer Choice

Sedna energy involves cold hard truths… that may be hard to hear for a society that have progressed so very far into uncaring and unjust relation with themselves, others, animals and the natural world…

Many consumers want to participate in more humane localised food systems, buying direct from the farmer, so they can pay them more to produce the food in a certain way that honours the animals, yet industry has other ideas, which government favour… for profit…

Threats to Large-Scale Industry-Led Food Systems

As this global health emergency is made, it is curious that Kuiper belt objects MakeMake in Libra squares Quaoar in Capricorn, and makes a Hammer of Thor aspect pattern on the North Node of Fate in Taurus conjunct Uranus.

Animals perhaps being in ecosystems where they are denied their natural way of life. Perhaps due to encroachment on their natural habitat, which increases the risk of these diseases transferring, as CoVid has shown after reportedly being studied in a laboratory, jumping ship…. Or animals

being deprived of their natural multi-species pastures, being fed copious amounts of monoculture ryegrass and grain instead. Or the distress they clearly suffer at never being able to raise their own young snatched from them.

And consumers perhaps not being able to access high amounts of nutrient-dense food, that they might have been able to obtain from the relationship with the small-scale farmer, in local food systems that are more viable, wholesome and reciprocal. There is a lot of scientific evidence that shows that many modern day food production systems, produce less nutritious foods. In the United Kingdom for example, more small-scale farmers are able to set aside land for wildlife, because they are part of niche, direct-farmer-to-consumer food systems, where they are paid fairly for products like raw drinking milk, raw milk cheese, and truly pasture-raised meat. These small-scale farmers are also able to implement the bio-security measures to protect their livelihoods, with a variety of risk-reduction strategies, that many farmers are already aware of.

Perhaps large scale food processors won’t suffer too many losses, as some have already diversified and invested in meat and dairy grown in a laboratory, should agriculture as we know it completely collapse… With floods, diseases, and unfair financial reciprocation to farmers for their products, there is potential for these challenges to take farmers out of their livelihoods for good…

Sedna’s discovery chart reveals the real evil in all of this; systems of greed driving all the profit towards the most self-serving, who disadvantage others at massive proportions, with government support.

Is it then any wonder that we are having so many troubles during this time of massive change?

Together they are creating massive upset and change in agriculture, the natural world, earth matters, and with cattle; with the recent threat of foot and mouth disease in Australia a great example of the potential manifestation of this energy. This Hammer apex will also be on malefic fixed star Algol, Uranus and eventually Sedna.
