Eris higher expression people are sweet, heart-felt, caring, hopeful, optimistic and kind, and they live close to their divinity because they have endured, overcome and alchemised a lot to be where they’re at, and this is often becomes a huge problem at the start of Eris transits. At the heart of the problem is the Eris lower expression, that turns antagonistic enemy and wants to turn a mature, wise, intelligent person upside down with illusions, in shocking and upsetting ways. It’s the Eris polarity of vice versus virtue; getting satisfaction from causing a perceived loss or suffering for another, with illusions. Inverting another person to confine them; for a selfish gain, to win, often out of jealousy or envy, due to denial of emotional truth, obsessed with feeling superior. This is important information to understand, because although Eris square Pluto’s direct five squares are over, they will be in orb until 2024. Then Eris will conjunct Chiron, Jupiter and Saturn in the next few years with direct hits up to 2028… This energy isn’t leaving soon… and with Eris conjunct Chiron commencing in 2024, this information is vital…
As previously described, hubris (an Eris trait) is a personality quality of extreme or foolish pride, or dangerous overconfidence that can lead to bullying, hating, alienating, and malice. It happens in all arenas, like the workplace, the school yard and in the intimacy of the family home. It happens right under people’s noses, victims freeze up in fear, and perpetrators have gotten away with it many times. It’s not pleasant to talk about these matters, because it is both abusive and heartbreaking, but little information is available on the internet about Eris transits in particular and understanding its dynamics.
It would be beneficial for investigators, detectives, law enforcers, legal experts, etc. to learn about these, for they are the adjudicators when these dramatic domestic abuse disputes, hate crimes, and violent events between people arise. To decide what is acceptable social behaviour when the human ego flares up, and who is the real villain. Eris energy often entail crimes of passion against the innocent; who may have done nothing wrong other than be true authentic Self, and that stirring the devilish in another…

This article in the series is about valuing people only by what they have, or what can be extracted from them. It’s being corrupt and materialistic, instead of being solid and steady. It’s making money and the superficial the primary focus.
It’s discarding deep heart-felt relationship, in exchange for victory, success, appearances, or clout. It is ignoring deep friendship and connection, to throw a good person under the bus to sabotage them. It’s closing the eyes to the truth, and allowing self induced illusion, yet it is perfectly disguised denial under pretence of attainment. Vanity is the excessive pride in one’s appearance, achievements or abilities, perhaps to the point of narcissism. There is no faithfulness in relationship when the heart is this closed off. The misalignment of values too irreconcilable.
There are consequences when choosing the superficial over the real, and having to live with the dysfunction and stark realities of bad choices. There may be an apathy and sense of hopelessness towards the future, because there is only so much satisfaction that can be extracted from the wealth of superficial things to satisfy, when the law of diminishing returns is also involved. It’s prioritising being a player who indulge in fantasy, instead of being authentic and in clarity.
Many people cannot see their wrongs or bad choices until they have experienced harsh consequences, and unfortunately, this is the case with Eris in astrology.

With Eris, it is the ego and pride that has false foundations that is problematic.
With Eris, it is the being in relation to others, and them holding up a mirror to you: to see where you lack in comparison, that may initially trigger you in feeling intimidated, insecure, defensive, and guarded. This prevents people from seeing the truth about a situation, and about how another person may stir in you discord of the heart, that generates irrational behaviour. perhaps to make yourself feel better.
It is the feelings that are triggered, that causes people to cross a line of no return. Therefore, if you can understand the dynamics sooner… the better… Some people carry a strong Eris in their make-up that trigger others, and others are just triggered by it at the start of an Eris transit, so take it as it applies. Dangerous Liaisons, False Partnerships, Sabotage, Loss of Fortune, and the Dysfunction of Staging Defeat in Karmic Cycles
Gaslighting is psychological manipulation. It’s when one person tries to gain control over another person by distorting reality, and forcing the other person to question their own judgement and intuition.
Karmic cycles entail going around in loops in relationships, without learning lessons, nor elevating. Eris higher and lower expression people thrown together are a recipe for disaster. It’s the Eris polarity of self honesty versus duplicity. These individuals don’t mix well because the polarities between the qualities each possess, are too great.
They are not equally yoked, and may involve one person who is willing to do the honest work, while the cloaked player seeks to secretly sabotage them. When a good person doesn’t take the time to patiently discern the connection with who or what they are engaged with, it can lead to sorrows. Sharing good energy, with those of ill intent, doesn’t produce good outcomes… no matter the good intentions. Picking one’s life partner, business partner or any other kind of association, is serious business…
Think of the massive differences in integrity between the mature and the immature, the righteous and the immoral, the honourable and the dishonourable, the friend and the enemy, virtue and vice etc.. These extreme relationships entail those of opposing character and moral fibre, where upon seeing the blessings of high frequency living, the low vibrational emotions stir the temptations for vice… to make an innocent, graceful person the scapegoat for the anger problems, instability and imbalance stirred in the antagonist; who may live by the mind over the heart.
Getting involved in committed energetic exchanges with the wrong people, troublesome counterfeits, or false partnerships, can be devastating… because the low vibrational INVEST in taking from and hindering those with great potential and purpose, from self-actualisation… Jealousy, envy and other morally wrong ills spring up all too easily, due to nurturing bad habits and toxicities, to prevent another from aligning. Eris lower expression people are overly focussed on other’s life paths.
This deliberate choice to INVEST in this activity - to throw prosperous people off course - needs to be understood, for they get immense satisfaction from being a misguided blockage in another’s life, causing them to loose out on the happiness they deserve; as a major, deliberate obsession or life priority (more examples of this follows in part 4). There is sometimes little remorse for their calculated, vile creations.
Being energetically bound or contracted to people, places or things that doesn’t respect accordingly or prove equally rewarding for both parties, may alter the course of one’s life. Just because a deal sounds good, that doesn’t exclude innocent people potentially being exploited or contractually confined to a shameful traitor or thief.
Through the ages, Eris in astrology have always made great entertaining stories and movie box office hits with its protagonist / antagonist dynamics.
It’s the scheming of the obsessive, ambiguous antagonist, and the protagonist learning from the horrifying experience, rising to find their own triumph. The reality of Eris transits in astrology is a little bit different, as it relates to timeframe; Eris can stay around one degree of the zodiac
for about 10 years depending, unlike Pluto which is around 4 years. Pluto has an orbit around the sun of 248 years, where for Eris it is 558 years. These are both long transits. We have all been in a mental prison before, feeling like we're a prisoner of our “monkey mind”—feeling unsettled, restless or easily distracted by thoughts that bounce around like agitated apes. But what about the experience where someone deliberately spread lies, rumours, slander or defamation of character about a person, to entrap them mentally, to ruin their good reputation, to stop them from having healthy relationships or collaborations? To end their career, or outcast them from a group? Antagonists tend to lack conscience while in the act of wrongdoing, with the dire consequences not immediately apparent…

The 1988 movie Dangerous Liaisons is an excellent example of the emotionally manipulative behaviour that Eris lower expression people sometimes choose to engage themselves with, like devising an evil masterplan for self-gratification.
It is the malevolence and wrath that comes from wounded pride or jealousy, that turns into the hubris to find leverage to scheme and plot on another who is hopeful, optimistic and innocent, using allure or enticement.
Perhaps to use to power of romantic attraction for private agendas, like a Don Juan love-bomber that uses self-destructive behaviour to undermine others; to destroy their life. To retaliate with revenge as the virtuoso of deceit. Pretending to have another’s best interest at heart, while making advances to set them up, discredit, or weaken them - with depredations - perhaps on some seemingly justified pretext.
It’s the unprincipled playboys, and players intent on intrigue, romantic affairs, seduction, coaxing, dirty offers, blackmailing, competition, etc. with ulterior motives, to disgrace and ruin another under a guise. It is creating intimidation, shame, or guilt for an innocent person who they believe is deserving of their revenge, when they are not. It is the energy of convention in society that the intelligent but low vibrational mix in, that puts them in a wrong impressions fog, viewing situations, things and people from a skewed perspective. It entails in them NOT choosing their battles wisely, with conmen/conwomen choosing the wrong side as they focus on cruelty (as discussed in part 4 as well).

Many Eris examples show, that the fabrications, chaos and social intrigue that short-sighted lower expression Eris people weave for a person in one season, often become their own entrapment in the next season.
With them weighed down regarding the consequences of turning another upside down…
The 1988 American film Dangerous Liaisons starts and ends with actor Glenn Close in pre-Revolution Paris, as the Marquise de Merteuil in front of a mirror; she is very self-aware. It’s the Eris polarity of self honesty and duplicity. It’s a story set in a time where women were pawns in power and political dynamics, and were married for money, promise of clout, perks, and social connections. Yet, in as much as women were pawns, they gained a certain amount of power themselves, in the context that they were allowed to operate in, which was social intrigue… It’s the expression of vitality and personal power - but no heart due to marrying for money - and then expressing through ‘things’ as a choice of expression. It results in clout hunger to be seen in the world, instead of being original; escaping into the ego to live out a fantasy based on how things appears.
This is Eris lower expression dog eats dog, in the form of socialite thieves… that perceive themselves to rule and perpetuate a dystopian society, accumulating karma without care… with the appearance of being upstanding in society… Only caring about public image and reputation and how the ego mind can be propped up with the benefits of being false. It’s being part of elitist groups of people, where everyone is fake, yet wanting to be seen as a pillar of society.
It’s the obsessive and scandalous antagonism to turn an innocent person’s life upside down, alienating them with social ills we know today as gaslighting, win at all cost ego battles, trickery, and defamation.
It’s lying, cheating, bullying and all sorts of toxic tactics that put another’s mental health under a strain, so they become dispirited and disconnected, and relationships go awry. It’s actively being another’s enemy to take a gain, due to selfishness and entitlement.
It’s zero faithfulness due to operating in the shadow side, despite faking it with appearance of virtue. Parading in ostentation, but shifty, cold and calculated. Driven by addiction to self-indulgence in lower vibrational energy - to incarcerate others - yet deeply steeped in lack of foresight.
Motives behind Unfair Power Balance: Winning and Losing
Eris higher expression people create their own opportunities from divine spark for the benefit of all with good intentions, but the lower expression is the opportunist who tend to capitalise off of another’s energy.
Eris higher expression wants for everyone to benefit from their benevolent light that they had found within, but Eris lower expression may want to be the victor of their mean game to profit from another’s ruin and disgrace, should they not cooperate with domination.
Both are diligent, self-aware, and operating from the “heart”, however, one party’s heart is wide open to enjoying the benefits from that state. The other’s heart is closed off from the wisdom of an open heart, due to other strong desires of the “heart” for the superficial things that give temporary satisfaction, that results in losses…
It’s the challenge of mastery of emotions, and learning to not block off senses and feelings; which results in cold calculation, being cutting, biting, bitter, and mean.
If you Google “Why are people jealous” the common answer is that jealousy may be driven by low self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy, or a poor self-image. It’s when they lack confidence or feel unhappy with themselves, feel anxious, or insecure, that this can lead to feelings of jealousy, or perceiving themselves as out of control. It’s not hard to see how these psychological issues, can morph into a huge problem in the heart, especially when the heart is so closed off, that the person cannot access the wisdom in there for self-healing… When in this state, people may become misguided in the most cruel ways; getting more hurt, perpetuating the cycles of pain, which causes more shutdown of the heart, due to making bad choices, with very far-reaching consequences. This can result in a more cold, calculated person who may “hate” themselves, operating without a “heart-compass”. The desire for control may be a misguided attempt at obtaining security or stability, due to spiralling out of control, but this can also cause immense suffering for those around them… as the ego takes control…
Dangerous Liaisons, Players, Third Parties, Lies, Scandals, Social Ruin, Fake Flexing, Glass Ceilings, and Failed Collaborations
The cold, calculated and immature doesn’t want the prolific-with-good-intentions to grow and exceed in excellence beyond them, which is why they want to diplomatically, but stealthily keep them connected to them, for self-gratification. Making deals with the devil, due to not trusting unconditional love.
Defeating good people in devious ways, to steal their life’s work, pathway, position etc. with playing dirty, with malicious intent. To steal all the fruits of someone else’s labour from their vineyard just before harvest time, and then pretend that they did all the work.
Perhaps providing the illusion of mutual support with the successful person, when it’s a duplicitous one way avenue only… so that the cloaked villain can steal and enjoy the other’s acclaim, glory and praises, at their expense, and cause them immense sorrow. It’s being reckless and careless, without consideration.
They are jealous of the empath’s heart, emotional balance, and maturity, which are qualities that heartless players don’t have.
Why? There is a grand canyon difference in terms of level of achievement and being gifted in life with exceptional talent, between the mature and the immature; who has ingenuity, and who does not have “je ne sais quoi” alignment with the mature attributes of a healthy loving heart.
Being able to manifest blessings from authentic Self is truely unique, to the point where the jealous turn greedy criminal; to block, dominate, or trap the star’s gift, vision, or passion for life, and turn them upside down to be hopeless.
Human decency becomes overtaken by greed at the start of Eris transits, as those ruthless opportunists desperate for prestige, position themselves to profit like hungry wolves. Those unique visionaries who are destined
to shine are hindered… to stop their evolution. Some who are insecure actually feel attacked by the confidence of the confident tally poppy, perhaps mistaking it for arrogance, when there is a wounded pride or jealousy element. The insecure may be worried about what they cannot control; desperate to control the reputation, friends, abundance, growth, or how a gifted person is perceived socially. It’s also the greedy trying to take ownership of the blessed with ulterior motives, and putting glass ceilings above their head, so they have leverage over them, to stay small. Some strive to get to the top, but at the expense of another being sabotaged. It is important to know that in being around the wrong kind of people - with low vibes - blessings cannot find fertile ground, and collaborations fail… Some love to feast off of the downfall of those with great potential, grabbing whatever they can, as if the other is not a human being; using the empathy of a kind person to take advantage of them.
It is attempting to prevent another from living life to the fullest, to be in doubt or unfulfillment instead, through bullying, obsessively wanting to keep this corrupt lifestyle going.
It’s expecting a balanced, unconditionally loving person to NOT be determined to excel in life… and not have their place in the sun, from clipping their wings.
These unstable players with a game plan to cut the tally poppy down, need healing the most, yet it is the empaths - who do have healthy feeling and sensing - who they target… and are in danger of being injured the most. The lower expression may turn sweet and deceitful on them, love bomb them, and pretend to have their best interest at heart, which is why this is so insidious… because in truth, two-faced players tend to be unstable, plotting, non-committal and fake flexing, with not so noble intentions…
Eris lower expression people deliberately trigger another’s trauma, to make others feel what they feel. Also, as a method of keeping others from moving on when they flee from them; to be stuck in a state of chaos and mental turmoil about a loss, with their mind going into overdrive, moving into the low vibrational as well. The lower expression may attempt to get another NOT TO HEAL, so that they cannot get out of the storm that they had tossed them into, after having gained their trust, and after fooling them into thinking they are a sweet or trustworthy friend. This is how the antagonist ruin good relationships and loyalties, by playing the role of influencer, with third party scenarios, love triangles, lies, scandals and gossip gang-ups a few favourites. Perhaps triggering each person into their own trauma, and betraying them into committing the crimes of a player as well, so that what used to be constructive partnerships, turn into hate over time. To trigger each to be confused, and then hate on a lover, or a long term commitment in their life, who had been nothing but kind to them in relation. Think of the film Dangerous Liaisons. The prejudice and purpose is to manipulate everyone into confusion with intrigue, keeping them stagnant in inner discord, so they feel poison in the veins, unknowingly taking revenge on behalf of the original
hater’s hate campaign. To deliberately put others in a dark night of the soul experience, to take everything they love to ruin them, because they are in competition with them. Retaliating revenge because they feel a certain dark and nasty way, to get schadenfreude satisfaction from it. To conjure up hideous evil, but perhaps doing it very sweetly with ambiguity, so they are not suspected as the enemy that they are. It can also be violently out in the open slut-shaming behind a person’s back so that others will readily not respond to, or dismiss the target.
Perhaps thinking that destroying every facet of a person’s resources of connections with their grudge, would get them socially rejected by everyone. Thinking that whatever they can ruin, will be such a torture and get the target to fall into permanent despair… It’s taking away someone’s options or free will, to the point where they collapse into themselves, or have to leave all that is important to them behind. With the stress causing physical illness - weakening them - and them disappearing from all social circles so the evil minded can take their calculated gain.
The Eris blog on this website is packed to the rafters with detailed examples of this dynamic. Think the Evil Queen of Snow White, Cinderella, Jesus Christ, Selena, etc. Each and every example had to learn their own true worth, and to protect themselves against the vitriol aimed at them, due to their Eris higher expression light that shone bright. The injustices created against them were deliberate, to disrupt their life paths, their service to others, and them following their own bliss. It’s like trying to permanently damage another’s psyche, by attacking them fiercely with negativity, blocking them, stealing their opportunities, autonomy or ideas, etc. The determination to disadvantage or harm is very, very strong… see the Evil Queen’s offer of a poisoned apple disguised as a benevolent gift to the right…
To affect another’s lives in a negative way.
To disturb their inalienable rights.
To destroy a person’s life that is not deserving of it… to see them take a loss, and not move forward in their life successfully. It’s deliberately hateful to torture another like this.
It’s about what is in the heart; kindness, faithfulness and love, or closed-heartedness.
A narcissist is someone who uses others to prop up their own self-importance.
The Backfire of Psychological Warfare, Discriminatory Expectations, and Hate Crimes to Kill another’s Dreams or Investments, Who has Good Intentions
The creation of a power imbalance, and need for domination and control, have calculated motives behind them; to make another a cog in the wheel for selfish gain.
In other words, delegating a person who may be in service to humanity, to play a small mundane (perhaps vital but generally unacknowledged or unappreciated) role in some kind of situation, so that the coaxer can take the benefits in vanity.
Eris lower expression want the authentic - who has nobility - to suffer, to collapse into themselves, be a beggar, or have an unbalanced sense of worth. Ensuring that they NOT get what they deserve, or be rewarded for their hard work, perhaps by attacking, belittling and bullying them, or turning people against them, so that nobody loves or appreciates them… Bringing them a nightmare and backing them into a corner to feel victimised, powerless or in despair (the Venus/Mercury/Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius, 9th house); to make them think that their ideals, hopes and dreams had gone down the drain (the mutual reception of Neptune in Aquarius in the 11th house and Uranus in Pisces in the 12th house in Eris’s discovery chart.)
Cinderella endured this abuse, torture and pillage in her toxic household with an obstinate stepmother and two stepsisters who wanted to constantly steal her essence, put her at the losing end, missing out on every opportunity that might come her way.
The stepmother and stepsisters were obsessed to control her light, emotions and destiny, and wanted her to be a distorted version of herself; not the clear-minded, purposeful and soul emerging as light.
The jealous, competitive stepmother wanted to take over her manifestations, seeing that she had an inner radiance. She wanted Cinderella’s true potential to be not realised, and for her to have no love, no support, nor victory. To drown out her unique and eccentric voice with manipulation, so that Cinderella could not be seen, nor discovered. Where the heart is shut down, the human ego that dwells in the low vibrations seeks to prop itself up, and loves discrimination and the satisfaction that can be derived from it, as the image below shows.
Why block a soul with beautiful QUALITIES from shining?
Cinderella’s very existence challenged a belief system, or illusion that they as a family had built for themselves, regarding certain qualities. Cinderella’s presence was threatening to shatter and cut through their ILLUSIONS. Cinderella had a lot of empathy, was able to truely see others, and was able to connect deeply. By blocking her, this behaviour reinforced for the household a code of conduct about who BELONGED in the family, and who didn’t, based on qualities; implying that a good natured person doesn’t belong and doesn’t get to be included. They didn’t want her to be part of the family, feel sheltered, nor accepted in the family as a group, because the members would not have the same harmony that they have, when she is included. The few friendships and kindness that Cinderella were able to find, were with the birds and other animals that were her friends, as the image below shows…
Cinderella’s presence in the family threatened to reveal something (shameful?) in comparison, about the other family members.
Cinderella had the qualities of kindness, empathy, inspiration, and big ideas, and instead, they were malicious, greedy and mean by nature.
Cinderella’s nature gave her the ability to see right through them, and although she had been conditioned by the family to have a blindspot for certain taboos, it was only a matter of time, until her own illusions about the family “way” would shatter, and she would see the truth about who she is, in comparison to the accepted family qualities, values and worth.
Cinderella’s presence and participation in the family dynamic threatened their collective way of being, their position in society, and their investment in vanity.
In the traditional story it is quite apparent how Cinderella’s kindness and her speaking of big utopian ideas in life threatened the family (it’s the mutual reception of Neptune in Aquarius in the 11th house, and Uranus in Pisces in the 12th house in Eris’s discovery chart.)
The family clearly saw Cinderella as having qualities that they did not. They saw that she had a pathway and destiny that shined golden and otherworldly, which is why they had been trying to block it since she was a small child; gaslighting her into a certain reality and attacking her with their malicious nature. They felt exposed being too close to her, which is why they wanted to control the way she participated in the family, in preemptive manoeuvres to block, thwart, or stall her. They were mad that they didn’t have those qualities, and felt that she wasn’t deserving because she didn’t have their ego-focussed prowess, yet she was indeed so very deserving of love, respect, honour etc.…
Later in the story (depending on which version) the stepmother also got wind that there was some gifted, blessed, or fortunate destiny connected to Cinderella’s future; that her empathic nature will take her far in life… and that the family might be able to profit - from her big heart in caring for others - in social standing or materialistic gain…
Cinderella is one of the best Eris stories, with empathic, nurturing, devoted Ella always hopeful for a better future, with her healthy sensing and feeling, not participating in the toxicity… Idealistic, sweet, and dreamy Ella sat in the ashes of the fire place every night, perhaps crying and exhausted, but she also sat by the warm fires of soul connection; satisfied by going within where there is a warm heart. She had a great love, that even if unrequited or thwarted still bestowed creative and transformative power, heights, and knowledge that otherwise would remain unknown. She had good intentions towards everyone and was a force for good, despite her dire home circumstances with merciless competitive, crafty and jealous family members, who had her on her toes, guessing about what ambiguity they would participate in next. Her high frequency, optimism, sunny disposition, authenticity, being unconditionally loving and forgiving, and making right choices, are what led to her elevation. She was filled with hope, vision, intelligence, inspiration, and potential, not the ego mind… Cinderella had a gift for creating beauty, charity, inspiring others, and for goodness to flow. Lighting up the room with her presence, and her “every day is a new day” versatile optimism, that some cannot fathom.
Cinderella shows that it is wholesome to be a sensitive, emotional, compassionate person and to allow for the soul to soar in expression through the human (Eris higher expression) but we must know how to discern people accurately, else be manipulated or controlled by their ego.
Cinderella didn’t want to fit into another’s false version of reality, where they are superior, and she is made small and insignificant. The stepmother and stepsisters were known for coming up with all sorts of wrong conclusions, suspicions, assumptions, obsessions and over-exaggerated but false pessimisms due to soul disconnect and envy. The misalignment of values too irreconcilable.
Eris Consciousness, Awareness, Clarity, Truth, Judgement, Revelations, and Evolution
Ella allowed herself to see the painful truth regarding the closed-minded, awaken to truth, surrendering to it, and accepted it… not being in denial.
Not suppressing her spirit, who was giving her important information about the ill intentions of those fakers who were pretending, like the stepmother who was gaslighting her; that she cared for her, and nurtured her, when she was envious and hated her. Ella learned to trust herself and her intuition, more than what outside forces presented to her. Graceful Ella was an overcomer, a warrior of sorts, and had great strength, enthusiasm, and willpower. Also, spiritual blessings, and attributes that were immensely valuable, but there were hungry thieves and cunning robbers around her.
Ella’s stepmother and stepsisters were energetically dependent on her being alone, trapped, stuck, in sorrow, suffering; uninspired.
They were in leech energy, and Cinderella eventually recognised the corrupt dynamics of it; to hold onto someone, to hold them back, keep them down, take from them, etc. They were a bunch of vampires who wanted to live a “high life” from defeating her every day with endless chores, getting her to run after their selfish desires, while humiliating her as those with narcissistic traits do. Cinderella chose to shake off disbelief in Self, and this dynamic of continually taking a loss, to feed the energy hungry, who cannot be happy by themselves, nor produce their own outcomes, because they are in lack. She recognised the spiritual battle for her energy, and stopped the energy drain. For her inner glow, inspiration, vibrance, and radiance to return, after setting healthy boundaries.
Cinderella took the harsh lessons and turned the experience of psychological warfare and discrimination to work to her advantage, like a good alchemist.
Her utopian dreams for a better life came true after a period of having faith during isolation, because she allowed for her growth and total transformation, gracefully breaking the glass ceilings of her life.
Investing in self-love and self-respect, she made room for healthier connections, new potentials, and any possiblity… Cinderella became a Queen of a Kingdom after marrying a prince, taking her lessons, good intentions, hope, inspiration, spontaneity, and pure heart to the next level. Cinderella built environments that were nurturing for others, not caring about standing on other’s necks, or HIERARCHY so she can knock another off their throne, nor manufactured position of power over others.
Eris energy and it’s bold polarities can be experienced by some as brutal, however when you study the bigger picture, Eris energy is to reconnect the human to the divine… to live a “heaven on earth” or “Eden on earth” life… and this is achieved by getting out of denial, healing, maturing, and elevating… Cinderella style…
It is curious that Cinderella’s glass slipper refused to fit the foot of everone in the land, except when it came to the rigthful person...

Eris Virtue versus Eris Vice
“Virtue lies in our power and similarly so does vice; because where it is in our power to act, it is also in our power not to act.”
Eris virtue and vice is quite evident in the Christian faith as well. There are seven heavenly virtues, and seven deadly sins and the similarities with Eris energy is astonishing. This will only be mentioned briefly, as this has been described in other articles on this website.
The virtues as the qualities of people living “Eden on Earth”, are self-explanatory, but the vices or sins describe the transgressions that one party makes towards the other with free will… being blinded by the ego, acting from indulgence in lower vibration, and not respecting or appreciating the fine qualities of the other. Making an onslaught of attacks against an innocent, “righteous” person, due to chaos within. The two lists below, are excellent examples of the extreme low vibrational human states that clogs up COMMON SENSE. Common sense may be defined as the healthy sensing and feeling state of Eris higher expression, where the human is connected with their deeper “angelic senses”; that provides them vital information regarding making good choices in everyday matters, and the vital ones.
When someone decides to indulge in low vibration vice, the COMMON SENSE becomes blocked; in effect blocking access to those vital inner communications of information.
This is at the heart of the bad choices that vain Eris low vibrational people make, that have such extreme far reaching consequences… that results in entire empires falling, as become evident in part 4 and 5… This is why angelic-looking Paris of Troy in Eris’s mythology was described as hapless/unfortunate, thinking that he is so smart being false, when he is really in a fog of illusion (delusion) in his own mind, in relationship (Venus, Mercury, Pluto in Sagittarius in 9th house conjunction in Eris discovery chart). Paris was full of blind faith in his bad, half-baked ideas/concepts to hold successful people back with obsessive control; fully invested in the low vibrational and ego, yet throwing pity parties and playing damsel to make others feel bad for him as well. His false perennial optimism gave rise to delusion and a serious case of overpromising and underdelivering. Self-promoting Paris knew that clever-thinking conmen like him get dishonourably discharged for treating innocent people badly, which is why he utilised reverse psychology, and flipped the script on them, and this is how he lost respect, despite the social graces.
It’s refusing to listen to better judgement, or refusing to SEE an inner reckoning, as a result of self-inflicted cause and effect, that a person had brought upon themselves.
It is a good natured person’s good sense that helps them see through the webs being spun in the dark, and abuse of power. Not letting this oppress, consume, or have power over the inner spirit and emergence of the soul. Another word for common sense, is SOUND JUDGEMENT… More descriptions include having EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, INTUITION and EMOTIONAL HEALTH… Also, being CLEAR MINDED… Ignore it at your peril.

Conscience is that still small inner voice that the vain don’t want to listen to.
It’s that Jiminy cricket (from the movie Pinocchio) famously known for being level-headed, wise, and capable of keeping a person on the right path.
It’s that sense of knowing right from wrong, being awake and aware, that gets blocked when the one chooses to indulge in the low vibrational and vice.

There is an obsessive addiction to get low vibrational supply in the form of attention, being admired, and put on a pedestal (undeservedly). Like the co-dependent Evil Queen in Snow White who was desperate for the validation of the mirror, as the most beautiful, even willing to kill for it…
Eris lower expression wants to knock a magical person who had found their own light within - who may just be minding their own business - of their square, into a constant state of strife or anxiety, so they lack creative spark or passion. To have them isolated, alienated, and withdrawn with their ill will and intentions rooted in malice. It’s a fight or competition with drama to destroy peace of mind, to overwhelm, so the lower expression get their selfish way.
To the right and bottom are two lists from Wikipedia about the seven deadly sins as opposed to seven virtues, that shows just how vast the chasm between the two parties can be (especially at the start of Eris transits). It shows why the lower expression is all bothered about good people potentially getting more goodness, with a hate campaign.
This shows why the insecure and jealous are in competition and rebellion with the natural evolution and justice of life. There is a low vibrational intoxication, addiction to low vibrational emotions, and giving in to them.
The hubristic may want to keep stealing from another’s good energy, and for it not to end. They may be resentful, entitled, and determined, because they don’t want the situation to stop; the unfair power balance must remain; to suck up all the satisfaction that can be derived from it. The heart is closed off, thus this evil minded deceitful ambiguity may be perceived as the way to operate.
This contributes to the bad karma, burdens, feeling blocked, unable to speak, stagnancy, haze, confusion, mental imbalance, illusion, and sloth, for depredations and bad choices, that tend to have a backfire effect for the lower expression, that is explored in this article and part 4 and 5…

As an astrological researcher, I still get pleasantly surprised by the synchronicities that can be found in the discovery charts of the trans-Neptunian objects, and how they reveal the planetary energies so super eloquently. Kudos to those astronomers who named these objects! Eris’s discovery chart shows it so eloquently too. There is an impressive body of psychological research on materialism available online. Extreme love of materialism is an Eris in astrology issue. It’s a trait that can affect both rich and poor, which researchers define as “a value system that is preoccupied with possessions and the social image they project”, yet is both socially destructive and self-destructive.
A series of studies shows that as materialism increase, people’s wellbeing (relationships, autonomy, sense of purpose etc.) diminishes. Also, as they become less preoccupied with it, their wellbeing rises.
The polarity between lower and higher expression Eris is also based on this axis, as was described in the previous article on Hubris and how that relates to self-esteem and fake self-esteem in the form of pride and arrogance. A published paper on consumer research, found a a two-way relationship between materialism and loneliness: materialism fosters social isolation, isolation fosters materialism.
In the tarot, The Devil card is scary, yet it represents a person's shadow (or darker) side and the negative forces that constrain and hold them back from being the best version of themselves. It represents allowing being seduced, put in bondage and enslavement by materialism and superficial pleasures. The devil card also represents lust and temptation to indulge, resulting in obsessive, secretive and impulsive behaviour. It represents vice and excess.
The pursuit of self-esteem via phoney appearances, materialistic possessions, clout, admiration, superficial values, or seeking approval, actually reduces self-esteem.
These attachments crowd out authenticity, and a focus on unique eccentricity that makes a person get their accolades in an organic and natural way, and being able to appreciate themselves, without outside stimuli.
Eris higher expression entails being independent, trusting Self, and loving Self, it doesn’t entail looking for approval, acceptance or outside validation. Chasing fame and other phoney things may actually dull creativity, thereby making excellence harder to attain. Fame is hollow, and many say it is a lonely place. Why not sit by the warm fires of your own divine energy and creativity instead? It is being one’s own true authentic Self (Eris higher expression) that brings the experience of being secure and serene. This entails being open hearted to benevolent ideas, and being in awe, enthusiasm, expansive thinking, and wonder at the world. This inspiration and satisfaction drives their spirit and the success of their creations. It’s the gratitude that brings the cornucopia. They find sustenance in every moment. This reliance on Self, love of self, and independence of Self for that shining abundance, brings the goodies, but it also bothers the cruel, greedy lower expression…
Which is why it is important to learn certain lessons, regarding those who present themselves to be like-minded, but who are wolves in sheep’s clothing playing victim; robbers and predators who zone in on those with blessings for a selfish gain… It’s those players who want good people left out in the cold, by stealing their joy with their false narrative, to take precedence over them.
Cinderella had ample preparation for what awaited her as she became the wife of a prince, and Queen of a Kingdom; in effect joining a court full of ruthless, envious, materialistic courtiers, just like what she encountered at home, but worse…
Robbing Other’s Great Fortune, and the Mean Intention to Pillage another’s Efforts via Bullying, Rivalry, Discrimination, or Appearances
The ruthless actions of lower expression Eris to obtain their desires, shows a particular meanness, and god-complex. They are in competition with evolution and fairness, which is why they create chaos, rivalry, and stalemates for satisfaction. They are in competition with the evolution of others, wanting to control or take away. They don’t want do the work to evolve themselves… yet want all the benefits that is rightfully another’s… who did work for it… The robbers get gratification from their stolen items, thinking that they are better than the person whom they stole from, and having caused another to miss out on recognition for their work, their pat on the back, or their inheritance.
In this greedy, envious, competitive world, nobody becomes the higher expression of Eris energy, without having gone through tremendous trails, tribulations… and having grown and matured from it, attaining those envied qualities, accolades and praise on their own merit.
Being mean is often the hidden intention and ulterior motivation for lower expression Eris people when they are not satisfied, nor fulfilled inside themselves. They feel melancholy and sorry for themselves in their situation. They tend to see the soft hearted Eris higher expression individual - living a prosperous life, who may be having a great time being their authentic self, and being appreciated and admired for it - as an easy target to take from. They often underestimate them, and see their kindness as weakness.
Eris higher expression people enjoy the happiness with who and what they are, which is their good fortune. Their cup runs over with the joy they feel with themselves, their unique talents and divine being. Their cornucopia, and their divine abundance may manifest in ideas or innovative creations that benefit humanity. But due to the mean, underhanded manoeuvrings of those who get obsessive over, or jealous of their innovations, the innovative may get shut down, by the lower expression’s arrogance and hubris.
Lower expression Eris people can birth ugly creations, due to the low vibrational energy, qualities, or mind game playing that went into the mix.
This is why Eris lower expression people (think bullies, enviers and haters) are often seen trying to trap and encage a beautiful bird who have a beautiful song to sing, that benefits everyone with ears to listen.
To get them to submit to their will, to be in a cage, perhaps with some deception or psychological warfare, to be controlled by the lower expression. To have their independence curtailed with ambiguity. Why? They want that control over the outcome… dammit… demanding for people to admire the inauthentic, via taking from, or hiding the authentic. It’s the vain wanting something REAL, without having worked for it. Feeling entitled to another’s energy, blessings or inheritance, without labouring for their own. Counting the pockets of the fortunate and being mad, as they have little to offer. And if the antagonistic lower expression cannot have what they want, they may try to block it for everyone else… Playing god, manipulator, energy harvester, and juvenile saboteur over everyone’s life, stealing jackpots so that nobody is happy.
Mean, meaning to be mean.
Malice. Intentional.
To break someone’s spirit.
Poverty all around.
Due to an inner corruption.
Cathartic Eris Truth is Meant to Redeem
As explained in part 1 and 2, this information may be challenging for some people, yet the idea with Eris energy, is for the truth to redeem you, regarding people’s true character, and hidden intentions and motivations. Eris energy also provides the opportunity for those who had intentionally been vindictive, cruel and chose the wrong path, to reflect deeply upon their life; what they value, find worth in etc. Perhaps now seeing the dynamics of Eris energy, and how making the wrong choices have very far-reaching consequences indeed… Some may have refused to listen to understand, instead listening to argue or cause chaos in the past. They may now find themselves
on the other side wanting to take a softer approach or be understanding, nurturing, calm, or empathetic, but now the cycle had closed. Relationships or projects are over, or had been demolished. The past lies in ruins on the battlefield in ruin and disgrace. The very fact that those who chose the wrong path now want to take a different approach, shows that they had the option - and were perfectly capable of doing so - in the first place. In some cases, there were genuine misunderstandings, but in others not. Abusers may have tried to make the target seem crazy or unreasonable, because what they had been communicated didn’t fit what they desired… Perhaps having said someone is too hard to work with, simply because they can take a benefit from that false accusation. Intentionally choosing to misunderstand others, because there were ulterior motivations to subdue and control another; to be submissive and go along with the selfish agenda… These are manipulative tactics, to make another passive, so they can be controlled, and their accolades stolen.
Striving to do what is right - after the damage had been done - is tricky. The truth, hidden intentions, and people’s true motivations, comes out and are assessed. Eris is all about character and people’s true colours being seen. Also, for the targeted to realise their worth…
Eris energy entails those who initially wanted another to have a mental imbalance or shame, perhaps having an increase of it for themselves… It is the nature of Eris energy that has to be understood, else you dig a very deep grave for yourself indeed.
