The LGBT, Trans and Gay Community and The Eris Marginalised and Disenfranchised in Astrology

Eris is the goddess of discord and strife in Greek mythology and western astrology.

Greek mythology is known to be the very bedrock of modern civilisation, and it is only fitting then, that many answers about our currently problems, can be found there…

We need mythology, story and legend, in order to live our lives coherently.

Eris in astrology demands growth, expansion, total change, unburdening of shame and blockage. Instigating evolution; seeing the truth and coming out of denial… elevating. Eris higher expression is about those of beauty, merit, high honour and character, shining brightly, after having experienced a massive trial, having true empathy for the human experience, especially INSECURITY.

The uninitiated in Eris energy may wonder what a trans-Neptunian object called Eris, has to do with the LGBT community and gender fluidity, but this is a loooonnng story… not easily expressed succinctly…

Greek poet Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey are poems written 2800 years ago.

The ancient Greeks used SATIRE, which is humour, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticise people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

Gay or gender fluid are not directly named as such in the Iliad and Odyssey, but many scholars on the works of the time can agree that both works include multiple characters, that may have been gender fluid (or something of that nature). Achilles for example, had a childhood friend/cousin called Patroclus whom he loved dearly, and grieved for immensely. It was Patroclus’ death in war and the abuse of power meddling with Achilles’ relationship with slave girl Briseis (by commander of war Agamemnon) that stirred great discord in the heart of Achilles in the last few weeks of the 10 year long Trojan War. Another was Paris of Troy who was an exceptionally beautiful man, who accepted a bribe from Aphrodite via The Judgement of Paris, to obtain the most beautiful woman in the world Helen of Sparta. Multiple articles on this website talks about how Paris never fit into the Trojan court and its overly masculine decorated lords and war heroes. In fact, Paris is one of the most INSECURE characters of the Iliad, who ruled and ruined ten years of Helen’s life... and made a mockery of the Trojan court’s unbalanced social dynamics and social expectations, causing the downfall of the most successful, affluent and envied EMPIRE in the ancient world; Troy (see the image below).

Greek mythology also contain overly masculine characters like Athena goddess of battle strategy and wisdom, who was also the goddess of virgins. It would seem that despite society dictating that men be masculine and females only feminine, the works of the time would still reflect the realities, that are reality… like Calypso who lived isolated on her island, and had extreme socially unacceptable sexual preferences. Yet the power of insecurities that are left to rule a person’s life, can cause them to bring ruin and EXTREME destruction in the lives of those around them, and is well documented and evidenced on the Eris blog…

Antagonist Zeus deliberately started the original snub, that Eris not be invited to a prominent wedding. Excluded. Outcasted. Ghosted. Left out.

Zeus believed that Eris was a troublemaker that made people uncomfortable, so he did not invite her to Peleus and Thetis's wedding (Thetis with a T). Having been snubbed, Eris created a golden apple with the word kallisti (Ancient Greek “for the prettiest”) inscribed in it, and came to the illustrious wedding anyway. Eris was the goddess blamed for having started a massive war by throwing an apple into the wedding crowd, however, things were not what they appeared… Zeus’s premeditated plan drawn up with clairvoyant Themis (with an M) would end up subduing and blaming an innocent person

on pretence of mass calamity, and ending her honour with immense shame through peer-pressure, ruin and disgrace. The discord of the heart is the immense disharmony, strife, dissonance, and distrust that arise in the heart, at being made the unfair recipient of immense injustice, betrayal, disrespect and slander.

Zeus’ insecurities caused EPIC destruction in other’s lives… keep reading…

The Eris Vanity and Clout Chasing series in particular look at what exactly started all the discord and strife cockamamie in the first place? The truth is that Zeus didn’t want to take blame nor accountability for creating the chaos of the Trojan War with accomplice Themis, due to his massive INSECURITIES and desire for SOCIAL CLOUT and POSITION OF POWER. Due to the discrimination and a hate campaign that he had started, that had massive far-reaching consequences… Helen of Troy/Sparta (Zeus’ daughter) was supposedly the reason for the Trojan War (to retrieve King Menelaus’ stolen wife), and Eris was blamed for supposedly the start and the seed of the Trojan War with her apple throwing, yet Zeus was the first HIDDEN PLANNER AND INSTIGATOR… due to INSECURITY… It’s a tangled mess… yet the bigger picture reveals TRUTH… It’s the scapegoating, smear-campaign, blame and shame, needing to get out of delusion, and accepting accountability to detoxify and live in truth.

Eris Heart of the Matter and Inner Balance

The heart of matter regarding Eris energy, is that all human beings have both a feminine and masculine side, and that when both are in balance in one person, and the insecurities are addressed, this makes for a healthy, balanced human being. It is a fact of human nature, that some men are more feminine, and some women are innately more masculine, but that does not automatically entail that these individuals are drawn to the same sex, or that they are gender fluid.

The magic of Eris higher expression, is to let go of insecurities, self-doubts and embrace being a divine being having a human experience, and that all of life is sacred, even if it has preferences that stir the insecurities of society… As long as you are not harming another human being, why not allow people to have their desired way of life, or be who they feel they truely are… It is so much better than people allowing their insecurities, to destroy lives with it…

A Time of Great Change

THE STIRRING OF INSECURITIES is a MASSIVE ISSUE since 2020 and it still is as Eris widely square Pluto. Jupiter also made its once every 12 years conjunction with Eris recently. The pot is stirred and there will be triggering, prejudice and people feeling threatened and bothered from many years to come.

Most are easily TRIGGERED, because people are experiencing SEISMIC self-doubt, mental health challenges, some brainwashing due to going down rabbit hole thinking, and difficulty attaining their own personal equilibrium (all Eris in astrology issues). It’s real tough, and this website has information about this all over…

Some people carry insecurities because they don’t fit into the status quo of society, and this was Eris. Some also carry insecurities because these people who have felt marginalised and disenfranchised, tend to have a unique perspective BIGGER PICTURE on the hidden but dysfunctional drivers behind society, that may threaten the systems in society that had been in place for millenia. These people are often underestimated and overlooked for the significant contribution that they bring to society, because they think outside the box, and carry solutions to societal problems that others don’t want to give them credit for, often because those in power enjoy the status quo of the situations around them, staying as it is, to benefit them and a select few around them. Greek mythology, for example, is known to be the very bedrock of modern civilisation, and it is only fitting then, that many answers about our currently problems, can be found there… We need mythology, story and legend in order to live our lives coherently.

Astrologers understand that since the start of 2020, Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter made a highly significant conjunction in Capricorn at around 23 -25 Capricorn (which was squared by Eris), and this entailed massive changes and collapse of traditional society as we knew it. It’s the changes to systems of government, institutions, education, religion etc. Pluto will still be hovering around the 29th degree of Capricorn for quite some time, before finally settling in Aquarius on 19 November 2024. The 29th degree of Capricorn is the crisis degree, and much of this INSECURITY that this massive change is bringing, are also behind the controversies we are seeing in the news, related to Pluto in the anarectic degree, making aspects to many other trans-Neptunian objects like Haumea, Sedna etc.

The chart to the right indicates the time (2021 - 2026) that outer planets and trans-Neptunian objects traverse the 29th degree of their respective zodiac signs, which entails them aspecting each other POWERFULLY and ushering in change. As they aspect, this also influences the creation of a five pointed star in the astrological sky, making the Sedna Yod, Haumea Yod, Varuna Yod and Gonggong Yod.

Society STATUS QUO is changing at a massive pace… and that is just GRANDE DESIGN perfection, however, those who don’t understand the nature of INSECURITY, self doubt, and the soul purpose energy of the trans-Neptunian objects, may find this time and the next decade challenging…

Increased Hate Campaign towards those who are Different and Stir Other’s Insecurities

The video below, shows a collection of recent events as it pertains to targeting those of the LGBT community. In Australia, freedom, free speech and a variety of beliefs are important for egalitarian Australians, however, this extreme polarisation is increasingly becoming a problem, because Eris in the second decan of Aries is receiving massive triggering in the collective consciousness from 2020 to 2028+. Eris will start to conjunct transit Chiron in 2024, and this is likely to escalate severely into painful situations, unless this information reaches conscious people, who can work on compassion and understanding in the heart space… FOR THE BIGGER PICTURE.

In the video, professor Josh Roose from Deakin university provides his insights. As it pertains to Eris energy, the writer of this article interprets and finds this as a great explanation that are at the HEART of this phenomenon. It’s about the human behaviour of attempting to polarise, and an attempt to find an enemy within. It’s easy to turn on those members of society who might have less of a voice, than those of opposing views who can assert themselves stronger.

Eris Energy in Astrology and the Massive Cost of Unhealed Insecurity

In Homer’s poems from 2800 years ago, called the Iliad and Odyssey, there were several characters with MASSIVE INSECURITIES, and with these insecurities running their lives, they caused MASSIVE PAIN and SUFFERING to innocent people around them.

This is what stirs discord of the heart, which is innate in Eris energy, because these injustices… are not fair…

Think Zeus, Agamemnon, Paris of Troy, the three goddesses who faught over Eris’ apple Hera, Aphrodite and Athena, and some other minor characters from Greek mythology, like Ixion, Odysseus, etc. Zeus was the main antagonist in Eris’ sphere of existence. This article details why Zeus had planned the Trojan War with Goddess Themis. Another article detail why his faustian bargain for social prominance was based on his massive insecurity, and another how he likely caused Eris immense emotional turmoil. Finally, this article describes in great detail how Zeus’ massive insecurity drove him to stage a defeat for war hero Achilles, and silence potential whistleblower and truthseer Eris. Agamemnon’s insecurity is detailed in this article, as it relates to taking out the competition, and Paris of Troy’s arrogance and hubris are encapsulated on multiple articles, especially this one. The reader will find many other detailed examples on the Eris blog, or by using the search function.

Eris in Greek mythology got stalked, influenced, attacked, cut off painfully from society, had false statements made on her name, got gossiped and slandered about. Greek god Zeus wanted her cut off from society quickly, to isolate her, and cause her fall from grace. Why? Eris was conveniently scapegoated for having started the Trojan War (because Zeus was power-hungry and greedy) which had very far-reaching consequences of loss and suffering.

Eris symbolises bias and strife born of ego conflicts, injured pride and the school of the hard knocks of life. Eris energy looks at the projections of the bothered, to blame and shame another for the emotional reaction that they stir in them.

It is in Eris’s nature to make people uncomfortable, especially in the higher expression, where she is an agent of change, and will name the elephant in the room, because she has clarity, discernment, and inner empowerment.

This article is not going to dive into the long story about what a trans-Neptunian object called Eris, has to do with the LGBT community… and give everything to the reader on the sliver platter. No… if you really wish to really understand, you’ll have to do some digging on this website as well, on what has already been written… to truely understand and comprehend… Eris has a long history of being associated with the LGBT community, just like other minority groups, especially since the dwarf planet first traversed into Aries in the 1920s.

Eris first moved into Aries 1920’s

Eris first moved into Aries on 5 June 1922 as it opposed Saturn, more than three years after World War 1 ended.

The spirit of the roaring twenties was marked by a feeling of novelty associated with modernity and a break with tradition through modern technology such as telephones, automobiles, moving pictures, and radio, bringing "modernity" to a large part of the population. It was the break from prohibition, flappers, art deco and the Jazz age.

To the left is the cover of Life magazine “The Flapper”. A flapper was theatrical slang for acrobatic young female stage performers in the 1910s, and became known for a liberated young woman a a decade later. The flapper was also known as a dancer, who danced like a bird—flapping her arms while doing the Charleston move. This move became quite a competitive dance during this era.

The 1920s was a dynamic decade, characterised by prosperity, leisure, technological advances, consumerism and major shifts toward modern values.

The roaring twenties saw the birth of a new woman, coming out of her domestic ‘shell’, with glamorous fashion. Along came the ability for women to vote, buy property, get a job, get out of their ‘boxes’, earn equal pay, divorce a husband, etc. Women started fun and frivolous activities like the flappers, jazz music, cocktails, etc. and flaunted their disdain for what was then considered acceptable behaviour. It was a time of learning and exploring. The flapper dress was functional and flattened the bust line rather than accentuating it (see the images below). With her short hair, figure-skimming dresses and ever-present cigarette and cocktail, the flapper would become the most recognisable symbol of the time.

As can be expected, the gay community blossomed during the roaring twenties.

There was the gay nightlife, masquerade balls (also called drag balls), wigs, powered faces and culture reaching new heights. By the mid-1920s, at the height of the Prohibition era, these balls were attracting as many as 7,000 people of various races and social classes—gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight alike.

Companies launched brand-new, cutting-edge products, like radios and washing machines. Exuberant Americans kicked up their heels to jazz music, tried crazy stunts, and supported a black market in liquor after Prohibition.

Common themes of 1920s literature included sexuality, pleasure, materialism, and happiness, as well as horror and war following WWI. Popular 1920s writer F. Scott Fitzgerald authored "The Great Gatsby" in 1925. The aforementioned novel was a love story and cautionary tale about excess, decadence, and wealth, and his romance and life-long obsession with socialite Ginevra King informed the plot of the novel. King was fêted in the press as among Chicago's most desirable debutantes and inspired the character of Daisy Buchanan. Fitzgerald conveys the hedonism of Jazz Age society by placing a relatable plotline within the historical context of the most raucous and flashiest era in American history. In his eyes, the era represented a morally permissive time when Americans of all ages became disillusioned with prevailing social norms and obsessed with pleasure-seeking. The American Dream, often represented by the Statue of Liberty signifying new opportunities in life, is a central theme underlying the novel.

Many Americans spent the 1920s in a great mood indulging and being frivolous, with consumer culture flourishing and investors flocking to a rising stock market.

Investing in the speculative market in the 1920s resulted in a great deal of OVER-CONFIDENCE, and led to the stock market crash in 1929, which wiped out a great deal of nominal wealth, and was a factor in the Great Depression of 1929–1941.

There was also women’s suffrage movements, civil rights movements, prominent black leaders working against race discrimination, and indigenous activism. Gender inequality boundaries fell at a fast rate, and the strict cultural and religious themes of the previous era was abandoned by many.

The 1920s was also an era of GROUPIES and HOMEWREAKING as what seemed like harmless fun had serious, far-reaching consequences, that where causing mass breakups in the family unit. Marriages dissolved on the grounds of ADULTERY and the frivolity led to pregnancies out of wedlock, but the ability for a family patriarch to force an arranged marriage, instead of a love marriage, was also diminishing. In the bigger picture, the 1920s was a time of the great IMMATURITY OF ERIS IN ARIES when individuals were, for the first time, experiencing a lifting of barriers regarding freedoms, but not yet experienced or MATURE enough for the long term consequences though… Eris is now in the last decan of Aries, hovering around 24/25 degrees Aries, and it is time for individuality, maturity, sovereignty and allowing the mastery of one’s own energy.

The point is that every human being has the right to social equity, but where does one person’s rights, freedoms and privileges get infringed by another?

The Eris blog has many stories that explores this quite elequently from different points of view. From Snow White, Cinderella, Jesus Christ/Yeshua Ben Joseph, to more contemporary people like Selena Quintanilla, Angelina Jolie, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein.

Today Australia are having serious discussions to allow Aboriginal voice in parliament, and the potential of Australia becoming a republic (free from British influence). Change is here to stay. According to this website, Eris is the warrior goddess of chaos and spiritual growth. Leading astrologers in Eris’ planetary research reportedly claim that she represents our essential will-to-live, and the innate, burning fire of existence. It's the right to live and live in wellness.

A Time of Massive Change for Sexual and Gender Minorities, including Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender

According to this news report, there was a time when being in a gay relationship in Australia meant you could be sent to prison, or even sentenced to death.

For decades Australian laws criminalised homosexuality until social movements, dedicated law reform activists, and some key events changed everything. See the events unfolding in the video below.

This video details the first public Mardi Gras in Sydney, that happened in 1978 after a parade calling for gay rights. It explains that today, the fight for queer families for equality is still far from over. Consensual gay sex is still against the law in more than 60 countries.

In February 2023, the World's Biggest LGBTQIA+ Festival, WorldPride, kicked off in Sydney.

It is the first ever event in the southern hemisphere that brings more self-love, acceptance and inclusion of people who are different and want to be accepted for their uniqueness and their preferences in the public eye.

Cancel Culture is Eris in Astrology

A recent Q&A Australia episode discussed Cancel Culture and Political Correctness, and made some profound statements. Playwright and author Irvine Welsh who is one of the most revered writers of his generation and is globally renowned for his debut novel Trainspotting (1993) and the film adaptation that followed. The entire dialogue was decidedly Eris energy, which is a war with no ending. Assistant Minister for Competition, Charities and Treasury Andrew Leigh spoke of 2006-2008 when the smart phone and social media platforms emerged, and stress for young people suddenly emerged. These are Eris issues.(Eris was discovered in January 2005, YouTube was founded on 14 February 2005, and Facebook launched February 2004). This is included here because according to Wikipedia:

“Cancel culture is a phrase contemporary to the late 2010s and early 2020s used to refer to a culture in which those who are deemed to have acted or spoken in an unacceptable manner are ostracized, boycotted or shunned. This shunning may extend to social or professional circles—whether on social media or in person—with most high-profile incidents involving celebrities.”

“Those subject to this ostracism are said to have been "cancelled".

“The expression "cancel culture" came in circulation in the late 2010s and early 2020s and has mostly negative connotations, often used polemically by self-described advocates for free speech and against censorship. The term "call-out culture" is generally understood to be a more positive framing of the same concept.

Some critics argue that cancel culture has a chilling effect on public discourse, is unproductive, does not bring real social change, causes intolerance, and amounts to cyberbullying. Others argue that calls for "cancellation" are themselves a form of free speech, and that they promote accountability, and give disenfranchised people a voice. Still others question whether cancel culture is an actual phenomenon, arguing that similar forms of boycotting have long existed. While the careers of some public figures have been impacted by boycotts that have been widely described as "cancellation", others have complained of cancellation while continuing their careers as before.”

Eris is about being the sacrificial lamb so that a narcissist can claim a good reputation…

No matter how much individuals in the LGBT community feel marginalised or disenfranchised, the lesson of Eris in astrology is to rise above the experience and letting it be your stepping stool, into Eris higher expression.

To love thy Self.

There are many examples of people who suffered horrendously at the hands of those who are unaware of their projections about themselves, or how their fears, need for superiority, and insecurities affect those around them, but many autobiographies have been written, about the underdog’s rising from the ashes of ruin, into grandness indeed.

In the light of this self-love, and the preservation of self, it is perhaps best that one accept that some groups of people don’t want to be confronted, or have their children confronted, with these realities that doesn’t fit into their beliefs and way of life. When one claims a life of sovereignty that entails having the right to make right choices for the self, as one pleases, does that not extend to others living their life as they please, and raising their children as they please?

In the light of self-love, it is perhaps best to seek supportive, loving environment, and to not dwell on the hatred or the problems of others. Why?

Eris energy teaches that we cannot change other people, only the self.

Advice as it Pertains to Eris Energy:

The following story reminded me very much of how important knowing one’s worth is:

A father told his daughter, "Congrats on your graduation. I bought you a car a while back. I want you to have it now."

Before I give it to you, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it. See how much they offer.”

The girl came back to her father & said: "They offered me $10,000 dollars because it looks very old"

Father said: "Ok, now take it to the pawn shop".

The girl returns to her father & said: "The pawn shop offered $1,000 dollars because it's a very old car & a lot of work done".

The father told her to join a passionate car club with experts & show them the car.

The girl drove to the passionate car club.

She returned to her father after a few hours & told him, “Some people in the club offered me $100k because its a rare car that's in good condition.”

Then the father said, "I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, that means you are in the wrong place. Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value ."

The moral of the story : Know your worth and know where you are valued. A diamond doesn't shine on the bottom of a cave.

It’s important to be in a loving situation with warmth and a sense of safety, where one can put their feet up and relax, where there is great potential for growth and happiness, than to deal with false people who cannot embrace nor love you. Find where you can belong, be happy and flourish and don’t worry about or focus on haters.
