Achilles’ Personal Growth and Honour despite Discord of the Heart Ending the Only Epic Hero
This is part 7 of a series of articles about Eris Greek Goddess of Discord and Strife, and it looks at the story about Achilles in Homer’s Illiad, and the astrology around his life as it pertains to dwarf planet Eris in astrology. In practical terms it’s about one VIRTUOUS party who did the work for merit, and another who want to ruin their reputation or take their identity, so that they can stand in the light of those accolades instead. reward without effort gained from inverting another person. It’s the attempts to dim another’s light, by turning those who are loved, admired and respected upside down, because they have talents or skills that are envied, that bring the rewards for merit that make people shine brightly, get attention, admiration, and high praise. This article explores the astrological signatures in Eris’ discovery chart, of why one party is in happiness with qualities, skills or manifestations of beauty, and the other the happiness-hater who wants that for themselves, with a mean dark edge that borders on envy.
This article is about those who think that the rules don’t apply to them, especially when it comes to abuse of power, building towards another’s downfall or heartbreak, or living the high life off of another’s abundant energy.
This is about the Eris in astrology juxtaposition (lower and higher expression) and how the differences in qualities, intentions for others, values, level of integrity are far apart. There is a massive misalignment in values between the two parties. The value clash makes healthy relationship between them impossible because of honour, and lack of honour. When one envious party lives from insecurity, staging hopelessness defeats for others, this just isn’t a match for benevolence and good fortune that can be had when there is an investment in an honourable, healthy heart lifestyle, that is in harmony with natural law and order. When not operating from the leadership and wisdom of the heart, there is potential for corruption and distortion, that create great ripple effects of misfortune, that can destroy empires. A common example of this are those who pretend to be a supportive friend of a successful person with public status, only to learn from them so they can steal from them and backstab them. This article is about those who are put through a massive trial due to being singled out by greedy, entitled players
who wanted to finesse them. It looks at the mythological story of Eris, who was scapegoated for starting the Trojan War, when it was the brainchild of an insecure player, who wanted to get rid of the competition to his ego superiority. Zeus didn’t want oracle Themis’ prophecy to come true, that Thetis’s son would become more accomplished, powerful, influential etc. than this father. Achilles had an amazing education, a wholesome childhood, and by the time he became famous, he was mild mannered, kind, wise, honourable, and shined brightly as a celebrated warrior. He was a product of the Heroic age; brave and fierce, yet he had a compassionate heart for the disenfranchised and marginalised. People loved and were drawn to Achilles, and this made some jealous; to have what he had, or energy harvest off him for his vitality and energy, for their own agenda to gain power over the Aegean sea and Troy. Eris higher expression people are compassionate, pure of heart, wise, loving and caring, abundant, and stable, and they live close to their divinity because they have endured, overcome and alchemised a lot to be where they’re at, and this is often becomes a huge problem at the start of Eris transits. At the heart of the problem is the Eris lower expression, that turns antagonistic enemy and wants to degrade this magical,
wise, intelligent person with illusions or trickery, in shocking and upsetting ways; like losing their spiritual quest. It’s the Eris polarity of vice versus virtue; getting satisfaction from causing suffering or loss for another. Inverting a confident, self-sufficient person; for a selfish gain, to win a competition for excellence, often out of jealousy or envy, due to denial of emotional truth, and wanting to feel superior. Why? Because one party feels empty on the inside.
This is important information to understand, because although Eris square Pluto’s direct five squares are over, they will be in orb until 2024. Eris will also conjunct Chiron, Jupiter and Saturn in the next few years until 2028… The energy of Uranus square Saturn’s old versus new battle will be rapping it up in coming months, but Eris transits will be prominent from 2020 - 2028+. The following entails two extremes as it relates to a somewhat different astrological polarity regarding old and the new. Eris energy isn’t leaving soon…
It would be beneficial for investigators, detectives, law enforcers, law experts, etc. to learn about these dynamics, for they are the people who will have to be the adjudicators when these dramatic events, hate crimes, and disputes between people arise, around what is acceptable social behaviour, and who is the real villain.
Eris energy often entail abuse or crimes of passion against the innocent; who did nothing wrong other than be true authentic Self, and that stirring the evil minded devilish in another to put them in bondage…

Children are a Fine Example of Eris higher expression.
Kids come into the world INNOCENT, PURE and with NAIVETE but DIVINELY CONNECTED, and then they run into all sorts of people, starting with individuals in the family, who want to intimidate and diminish their shine, lead them astray, persuade them to stop pursuing their dreams and goals, or grow up with poverty / lack mindset etc. Many adults can recall someone in the larger family who was secretly jealous of them when they were a child, and was causing them all sorts of heartache due to being a secret enemy that plotted on them. HAPPINESS HATERS come in all forms and they hate that others have potentials for their lives, which is why they may target those who
has their whole life ahead of them; to trip them up. Many adults can also recall being made the scapegoat for the family, or the political pawn in some family dynamic, so that someone can take a gain for the ego. This hopelessness at being SABOTAGED can follow children into adulthood, and it can be very challenging to heal from. Even in adulthood, one’s partner may appear to be supportive, when ultimately this support may be based on ulterior motives that means some kind of a gain for them. It’s about keeping people small and stuck, and claiming to love them and have their best interest at heart; guiding them in a particular direction with this negative influence… into ruin…
In Eris’s Greek mythology and more modern Eris in astrology examples, it become glaringly obvious how gaslighting, ego, and foul intentions are used to turn an inspirational, kind, successful person upside down, perhaps corrupting them with shame, dishonour, or making them defensive and combative due to gang stalking attacks launched on them.
It’s the dark impetus behind the blocking behaviour, that is disturbing. To cause another self-doubt, so they lose faith.
It is the participation in this energy, that brings the ruin and disgrace that is the long journey of hardship… that leads to an Eris choice, to either become bitter and vengeful, or to forgive, heal and become a loving being again. Whatever choice is made, they both ultimately lead to the need to balance out the toxicity and realise truth. Towards the end of Eris transits, what was once fought is realised; that leading from empathy, compassion and an open healed loving heart, is the fairest way to operate in Eris energy. It’s about leadership and independence in balanced energy, where the emotions, feeling and senses are not shut off, where one person is balanced in both their feminine and masculine energies. It’s the healthy, healed heart.
It’s a long term commitment to truth and clarity. It’s also about people having different values, that will never line up, making the chasm between them irreconcilable, due to polar-opposite intentions, integrity, morality, and character.
Lionhearted Warrior Achilles and the Onslaught on his Career and Public Acclaim for Another’s Self-Aggrandisement
The previous article looked at the events that led to the Trojan War, as was prescribed by Themis Goddess of Justice and Fairness, planned by King of Olympus Zeus to allay his insecurities, and executed by multiple accomplices, many of whom had no idea that they were part of a faustian scheme to get rid of two people (as is discussed in this article) whom Zeus thought of as enemies to his agenda. When Zeus worked with oracle and clairvoyant Themis, it was with the intention to thwart the fulfilment of a prediction that she had made. That goddess Thetis (with a T) would bear a son stronger than his father. Both Zeus and his brother Poseidon (Neptune) was in love with Thetis, but the prediction put both off. Zeus did not want to risk following in the footsteps of both his father (Cronus) and grandfather (Uranus) by being violently overthrown. To maintain his power, he abandoned Thetis and married Hera instead.
Zeus determined that the prophecy surrounding Thetis was TOO DANGEROUS for any of the gods to risk marrying her.
This is why Zeus forced goddess Thetis to marry a mortal called Peleus instead, thinking that her having a child with a mortal would be a great disadvantage to the prediction made around the child. It was at this wedding reception that Eris was influenced by Themis (with a M) to throw the golden apple into the wedding crowd that drove a wedge between everyone. This led to the Judgement of Paris, that was a key prerequisite to the outbreak of the Trojan War. Book 24 of the Iliad lines 30-33 explains that unfortunate Paris were CONTEMPTUOUS of the goddesses, and it states that he had chosen “the one who volunteered to serve his dangerous lust”. It was Paris’ weakness and folly that made him support Aphrodite and make the hasty, greedy choice, which created such DISCORD IN THE HEART in goddesses Hera and Athena, that it fuelled the bloody Trojan War.

From a certain point of view, Paris’ SCORN, disrespect, and insult was a form of bullying. The meaning of CONTEMPTUOUS is manifesting, feeling, or expressing deep hatred or disapproval, and another article describes why Paris had a chip on his shoulder regarding successful people who were worthy of their merit, that turned into CONDESCENSION.
Hera was goddess of Political power and represented morality and devotion as the good woman archetype. Athena was goddess of War, Battle Strategy and Wisdom. It is clear that being HAUGHTY and making an enemy out of these powerful goddesses would come at a massive price for Paris. This was all planned by Zeus, foresaw by Themis, and executed by multiple accomplishes.
Achilles turned out to be goddess Thetis and king of Myrmidons Peleus’ son. As a demi-god his heritage made him incredibly powerful, and his mother tried to make him invincible. He was described as having a large chest, fine mouth and powerfully formed arms and legs. He was mild in manner, but very fierce in battle. His face showed the joy of a man richly endowed.
Achilles had exceptional talents, abilities and gifts, and became a famous, highly accomplished warrior and leader by occupation.
Thetis foretold that her son's fate was either to gain glory and die young and be immortalized as the greatest hero ever, or to live a long, happy but uneventful life in obscurity. Achilles chose the former, and decided to take part in the Trojan War leading the Myrmidions to battle, where he really shined. Achilles was extraordinarily strong, honourable, courageous and loyal, with a strong sense of fairness. He was freakishly fearless, highly intelligent, and an absolute master of combat. Greek poet Homer had given him an epithet ‘Lion-hearted’. He was a product of the heroic age; brave, passionate, hospitable, generous, respectful of self, and had a fine taste in music and the arts. He had a fierce love and loyalty for his brother-in-arms Patroclus, with whom he grew up with. In the Iliad, it appears to be the model of a deep and loyal friendship. In no other epic does a passion figure so prominently as in The Iliad.
However, Achilles’ fine qualities were turned upside down due to DISCORD IN THE HEART, at the death in battle of Patroclus towards the end of the Trojan War. The death of his beloved friend turned his proud, noble, but deeply grieving heart towards the PASSION OF WRATH, that would lead to his own undoing. This devastation of the heart is exactly what Zeus wanted for him and all the other heroes that might be competition for Zeus’ ego mind superiority.
Political Assassination: A One Sided Deal, Confusion and Conflict Magic
The Iliad is set towards the end of the Trojan War, and the poem depicts significant events in the final weeks of a ten year siege of the city of Troy by a coalition of Mycenean Greek states. The critical themes in the poem include GLORY, PRIDE, FATE and WRATH, and others like HEROISM, HONOUR, RESPECT and HUBRIS. These are all Eris in astrology issues.
In some versions of the tale of the Trojan War, it was Zeus and Themis who planned the whole war to bring an end to the Age of Heroes, a plan that included influencing Eris to throw a Golden Apple into the wedding banquet, to the Sacking of the Empire of Troy. Troy was on one of the most important routes of sea-trade in the ancient world, and Zeus was highly invested in a particular outcome.
This is a deliberate political assassination of disarray.
Stirring discord and strife amongst the players that would rage the war, was key. It’s acting all ‘not involved’ so as to NOT BE SEEN, yet contrarian because it’s actually rooted in a projection distraction to throw other’s off balance.
Eris’ apple was a major tool to start drama and conflict. As a direct result of The Judgement of Paris, Hera Goddess of Political Power and Athena Goddess of Battle Strategy naturally took sides against Troy (Paris and Aphrodite) and were heavily involved in the Trojan War. Athena was known to never lose a battle… and she assisted Achilles multiple times as his ally… winning. In astrology Eris lower expression steals other people’s time, money and essences, and get too involved in their business to influence their lives; Greek mythology shows that Zeus certainly qualify for this role. Zeus was trading ethical principles for victory at any cost… There are many examples of goddesses who implored Zeus to intervene in the Trojan War to change a particular outcome or cause some disruption, yet the heart of the matter was that Zeus WAS THE CHAOS and DISRUPTION and had been playing a POLITICAL GAME; he wanted the Trojan War to lead to the destruction of the Empire of Troy and the end of the Age of Heroes. Zeus didn’t want his true intentions to be known either, which is why truth speaking Eris was intimidated and silenced. All the suffering caused and stealing of people’s lives, seem exclusively for a NARCISSISTIC benefit for Zeus…It’s a situation with false foundations, a false sense of security, false impressions and a false player.
Zeus wanted to take a selfish gain from creating scarcity tactics and toxicity that lead to other’s demise.
It’s the obsession over abundance (of another) and those who are enjoying the fruits of their labour. This greed and selfishness are at the heart of the matter.
It’s the stalker being focussed and glued to what another person is doing, to take from them as opportunist, or block them. To control another’s happiness for self-satisfaction and feel on top of the world.
It’s the hasty actions to prevent another from being blessed with something good, and take it instead for self-glory, yet the definition of GLORY is the high renown or honour by notable achievements…
Zeus had a massive desire for power, and the insecurity around keeping hold of his ill-acquired fortune drove him. Zeus didn’t want to experience the feeling of LOSS of his wealth as King of Olympus (as he dethroned his own father Cronus), thus he staged a defeat of hopelessness for others who might be a threat to him. To squash other’s potentials before they squash him. Not caring about the abuse of power, nor the immense suffering created for everyone else… Reckless and obsessed. To throw everyone’s life into disarray, to deliberately make others experience the insecurity and lack of confidence that he really felt. Zeus had the appearance of high honour in society, but not the real deal… He was often trying to ‘one up’ good people, in not honourable ways. He wanted others disillusioned with their lives and feeling empty, and not good about themselves.
It’s projection, projection, projection… to turn worthy people with abundance of fine qualities and accolades into nobodies… Zeus thought that it was not fair that he loose the gifts and SPOILT life from the back of other’s misfortune, that was not his… This is an Eris issue called ENTITLEMENT. Zeus was likely in a mental and emotional nightmare with himself, because he was fearful of losing everything that he had taken away from his father when he dethroned Cronus, prevented others from having, and had been enjoying all that time… Zeus was in cognitive dissonance, feeling that all the riches and blessings of the world was his to take, while he was in disconnect from something bigger than himself. Zeus saw himself in comparison to everyone he was in competition with, as entitled to greed-filled ownership, to end their blessings, and take their fortunate destiny they were living, and the rewards of their hard work, as his own (mimicking and disguising himself as others or animals were some of Zeus’ qualities). In planning the Trojan War, Zeus wanted whatever mighty Troy had cultivated, built, and grown to be pillaged and burnt down to the ground… to embers.
He wanted to cultivate CONFLICT MAGIC for Achilles, so that everyone would mock him, discriminate against him, reject him, and not support him. Zeus was planning, first to turn Troy into Toxi-City (toxicity), then to make it IMPOSSIBLE TO REBUILD the empire of Troy, and the Age of Heroes in every way; relationships, loyalties, systems, infrastructure etc. For there to be no hope, resources, stability, nor belonging. Ground zero for his satisfaction.
Another Eris issue is called GREAT EXPECTATIONS and lessons can be taken from Charles Dickens’ novel in the moral theme that affection, loyalty and conscience, are more important than social advancement, wealth and class. People loved and admired Achilles for the skill that he had cultivated as a worthy warrior of The Age of Heroes…
In the Iliad, there are multiple occasions that Achilles’ mother Thetis would implore Zeus for help to protect or save her son, and at times he seems to grant her the request, yet this was GASLIGHTING and PLAYING GAMES, as Zeus had bigger plans for the Age of Heroes and Troy to fall… Clearly everyone was invested in their own AGENDA, an Eris in astrology issue. Zeus wanted to APPEAR indifferent and impartial at times, but it was a facade illusion… He was creation injustices by being clever, and he didn’t want his malice and unfairness to be seen.
Zeus wanted to manipulate REALITY and this is the very definition of darkness and devil energy.
There is a saying: “live by the sword, die by the sword” that also means “what comes around goes around”. Zeus wanted to discriminate against basically everyone, including the other Olympian gods who had mortal children; that’s the bigger picture. Zeus did not care that everyone’s lives got flipped and turned upside down, or destroyed completely. This is Eris energy.
Causation: Generational Trauma and Insecurity Manifested as Ego Battle Bullying and Immature Cost Benefit Analysis of Narcissistic Discard
Zeus’ insecurities dictated that no one should be considered stronger, greater, superior, more accomplished, or powerful than him, or oust him. This threatened him which is why he became the DRAMA STARTER.
This is why he was having mental health and emotional balance issues, and this vicious obsession to watch situations in which there may be a scheme to oust him, and stop the prediction from becoming true… As an Eris in astrology issue, it’s not healthy or normal to be so overly focussed on another person’s life, OBSESSING OVER THEIR BUSINESS to the point of mental instability. Or even trying to live as them, by taking what they have away from them, or to take their place. This is the mental imprisonment of the threatened and bothered hustler who try to put others into mental entrapment to hit ROCK BOTTOM for personal gain…
It is the Eris BAD INTENTIONS for others by being an antagonist in their life, that manifests as working against the self, and the dynamics in Zeus’ own family proves this to be an accurate assessment of the situation.
In legal terms, causation refers to the relationship of cause and effect between one event or action and the result. It is the act or process that produces an effect. In essence; the ROOT CAUSE. It’s somewhat like developing Depersonalisation / derealisation disorder after having been antagonised and traumatised, and the seemingly forgotten tape still running… It's a type of dissociative disorder that consists of persistent or recurrent feelings of being detached (dissociated) from one’s body or mental processes, usually with a feeling of being an outside observer of one’s life (depersonalisation), or of being detached from one's surroundings (derealisation). The disorder is reportedly often triggered by severe STRESS.
From a certain point of view, Zeus did experience severe life-threatening stress in his own family. His haughty father Cronus had lived in fear of his own children, due to a prophecy that his son would dethrone him. To avoid this fate from realising, Cronus literally swallowed all his children as they were born, however the last child (Zeus) got away because Cronus’s wife Rhea had him raised in secret. When Zeus became an adult, he confronted him, imprisoned him and had Cronus regurgitate all his siblings, whose lives were stolen from them. Zeus later castrated his own father so he would not perpetuate this evil, and was the hero of his freed siblings. Cronus (Saturn) is an anti-developmental,

RESTRICTIVE energy when it comes to those around it, and this story is a metaphor for an obsessive, severely controlling Saturnian authority figure who wanted to restrict all the offspring to the highest degree; in personal expression, expansion and very existence. This DESIRE FOR DOMINION OVER and for another to hit ROCK BOTTOM is the kind of family dynamic (Saturn in Cancer opposed to Chiron in Capricorn) that breeds anxiety and mental imbalance in children, and creates stressed adults that habitually feel threatened. It's the aftermath of a heavy realisation of someone's evil intentions, but still running the tape over and over, and perhaps having DISASSOCIATED from it... but the tape is still running...
As Eris energy in astrology, this entails an enemy in the intimate family unit - where it should be safe - and the feeling of claustrophobia or ‘out of body’ experience, because there is a person in authority, that in truth is out to threaten the child’s existence. It entails feeling VIOLATED, PLAYED and INFILTRATED in the mind and/or body, where one should otherwise be safe and nurtured. Why? Because someone cold who should be loving and caring (but who has ill intentions) is constantly in their space trying to trample and BULLY them. It’s a constant battle with a fake person, like a Trojan Horse, that doesn’t let up… It’s somewhat like the movie ‘Invasion of the Body snatchers’ where feeling humans are replaced with an alien copy devoid of human emotion. One party is stuck in the low vibrational life, which is why they want to steal from another who carry light. This can become a generational dynamic, as all children are born pure. It was from Zeus himself being turned into his opposite (called INVERSION), that led to him in the unhealed state inverting others, smiling in their faces, when he had ill intentions for them.
This is being a puppet to one’s own trauma, just like Zeus wanted everyone to be a puppet to him. He controlled people, just like he allowed his feelings and emotions to control him. This is about the SINISTER seizing everything that another has, so they would only depend on him and submit to him. This is about having issues, and not wanting to look at the man in the mirror. In order to change, he had to admit his issues and then look at solutions to change, but it seems he would rather suppress this; those who are always hiding, lying, sneaking, or in subterfuge are running away from the truth inside themselves. The closer Zeus came to those of light, the more he was faced with the DISCOMBOBULATED ISSUES that rose up inside him and truths that he had to see about himself that he needed to change.
‘Misery loves company’ means some who are suffering are comforted by the knowledge that another is also unhappy. It is a short phrase that addresses a universal truth or common sentiment as it relates to Eris energy.
Zeus wanted to take another’s life, sunlight or limelight, because he was stuck. This is the psychological reason why so much effort was put into creating a ‘death’ for other’s hopes and dreams; so there would be suffering and melancholy, so that another would feel empty, depressed, and disillusioned on the inside as well. It’s as if someone did something wrong to him, thus he had to have his revenge, yet he was living in a false reality, as nobody did anything wrong against him. The COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS was highly immature, and clearly fear-driven, thus the implementation of a power dynamic. Zeus was flipping the narrative, while squashing everyone at the same time.
This is Eris energy in astrology; about how some become devoid of humanity, and some SHINE through the ages despite the horror show of selfish self-enrichment.
It was a wooden Trojan Horse that finally ended the 10 year siege of Troy. Metaphorically, a "Trojan horse" has come to mean any TRICK or STRATAGEM that causes a target to invite a FOE into a securely protected place. Or to be deceived by appearance, hiding MALEVOLENT INTENT in an outwardly benign exterior. A malicious computer program (malware) that tricks users into willingly running it is also called a "Trojan horse" or simply a "Trojan". These are all Eris in astrology issues. These characteristics are also manifest in the character Odysseus, who was a cunning man “of manifold artifices”, “equal to Zeus in artifice”, who invented the Trojan Horse.
The irony in Zeus’ situation is that his father Cronus ascended the throne after defeating his grandfather Uranus and also had Uranus castrated. This 10th house pattern is a metaphor for deliberately preventing another person from self actualising with their skills and gifts in their career or public status.
This is a 10th house issue family dynamic, that leads to a man that is so insecure within himself, or even haunted or traumatised, that he needed to take other’s out to feel “better”. These are the psychological dramas of the ego and its defences to avoid being demolished in the house of public status. It’s using extreme control to create ‘order’ for himself. Behind this are Eris issues of wanting to be WORTHY, and GOOD ENOUGH, trying to find this through manipulation of others. Yet this is not healthy as will become apparent soon…
Zeus’ insecurity caused IMMENSE EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, SUFFERING and REPERCUSSIONS for everyone else, because he schemed the discord that would lead to the Trojan War, with immense suffering that would take Thetis’ son out… For his ego to hurt and be trapped in the strain of an unfair power dynamic. To be mentally and emotionally tortured, and disconnected from his divinity.
Zeus secretly wanted to annihilate the competition, in Achilles’ career and honour, in every way, by stirring discord, strife, trickery, and divide and conquer in the relationships around him, and against him, so Achilles would self-sabotage himself and go into a cage of dishonour…
In having Achilles lose faith and be disgraced, this would give Zeus the self-aggrandisement that he desired… but this scheme for Achilles to create his own self-fulling prophecy to become small, based on his stirred up emotions of loss, didn’t quite work… Zeus didn’t want Achilles to be loved, respected and privileged. Zeus didn’t want Achilles to shine, or outshine him in the 10th house of public status…
According to Greek poet Homer, the bloodiest battle in history, the Trojan War, went on for ten years. This is about the timeframe that Eris’s strife and conflict energy can stay active in one degree of the zodiac if you consider the following. Eris can stay in one degree of the zodiac around 8 years depending, unlike Pluto transits where the energy is active in one degree for up to 2-3 years depending. Pluto has an orbit around the sun of 248 years, where for Eris it is 558 years. When orbs around this one degree of the zodiac are added, one may be able to justify why Eris energy can stay active for up to 10 years… and when the Wheel of Fortune as it pertains to Eris energy is considered, this is quite plausible.
Eris lower expression energy has the potential to be extremely destructive and manic with the DOMINION OVER OTHERS dynamic. To cause immense suffering and hopelessness, and be a creativity muncher off of other people, with the egotistical thievery on display for those who take the blindfolds off. However the higher expression energy holds the potentials for alchemy and benevolent change that breaks that stalemate energy.
Finding the Achilles Heel, Fatal Weakness or Vulnerability to Cause a Fall from Grace, to Annihilate Public Standing
Homer's Iliad is the most famous narrative of Achilles' deeds in the Trojan War. Achilles' wrath is the central theme of the poem. The first two lines of the Iliad read: Sing, Goddess, of the rage of Peleus' son Achilles, the accursed rage that brought great suffering to the Achaeans (Greeks as a whole)...
Conquering Troy would give the Achaeans control of the Aegean sea with many benefits as war prizes, which is part of the reason why a coalition joined to get Helen back (who had been stolen from King Menelaus). See a map of Homeric Greece here. Briseis was a princess who was taken as captive after a city near Troy was invaded. Instead of being murdered like her family, her extreme beauty saved her. She became Achilles’ prize of war and slave girl, and he and Patroclus treated her well and offered her protection. Agamemnon’s captive TROPHY OF WAR was called Chryseis.
Two catalytic events stirred Achilles’ WRATH in succession that caused him self-doubt; the quarrel with Agamemnon who stole his woman Briseis, and later the death of his friend Patroclus.
Briseis’ role as a STATUS SYMBOL is at the heart of the dispute between Achilles and Agamemnon that initiated the plot of Homer's epic. Achilles was greatly challenged through the targeting of the people closest to him, that he loved most, resulting in DISCORD of the heart. For the taking of Briseis, wasn’t so different than the taking of Helen, which is the main reason why the Achaeans came to Troy, out of principle and in honour to the THE SACRED OATH OF TYNDAREUS.
The extremely important question of JUSTICE after an INJUSTICE was brought up through the quarrel.
Above is an image of the abduction of Briseis from Achilles’ tent in view of many warriors. Achilles started to DOUBT the Heroic Code that laid the basis of Greek society (the patriarchy) after the argument with commanding officer of the Greek coalition during the Trojan War Agamemnon, where ARROGANT Agamemnon’s level of SELF-ABSORPTION, CRUELTY and LACK OF COMPROMISE became evident.
Achilles realised that his winning contribution to the war, was making these kings feel so powerful, invincible and puffed up, that they were forgetting whose DIVINE ENERGY brought what to the table, and whose maverick leadership was responsible for the successes of the synergy of the Achaeans.
Honest and earnest Achilles was giving immensely of himself to the Trojan war, but Agamemnon ignored his importance to the collaboration, and then tried to turn on him by tearing him down, and then putting up the EGOTISTICAL DISPLAY OF THIEVERY for everyone to witness that was meant to humiliate.
Achilles realised that the problem was his CONSTANT UNCONDITIONAL GIVING to the situation by the battles won by his sword, that really energised these arrogant kings; it made the exchange of energy unbalanced and put some in illusions of grandeur about themselves. It’s as if some had become ADDICTED to feeding off the winning streak, as if it was done on their MERIT… He realised what FOOLS over-estimating themselves some had become.
The Greek Heroic Code of Excellence was strived for, to established fame, glory and positive reputation, yet why was Achilles giving to these people who allowed an emotional theft that affected his heart, and publicly dishonoured and devalued him? Agamemnon deeply desired for Achilles to lose… (just like Zeus) and this got Achilles thinking about people’s TRUE CHARACTERS, INTENTIONS and MOTIVATIONS... and the illusions they were in…
In the image above, Achilles was getting ready to strike a blow to arrogant Agamemnon, when goddess Athena intervened, to stop him from acting so rashly, telling him that he will have his moment. What was the original quarrel about? Achilles had insisted that Agamemnon restore Chryseis (his prize of war) to her father, a priest of Apollo, so as to appease the wrath of Apollo, who had decimated the camp with a pestilence. An irate Agamemnon felt ENTITLED to recoup his loss of Chryseis, by depriving Achilles of his Briseis in SPITE and MALICE. It’s a case of misery loves company, and depriving Achilles so that they are both equally depressed. Love triangles or triangulation in relationship in general is a famous tool to start conflict between people, another Eris issue. The reason for the RIFT between Achilles and Agamemnon is an Eris issue, called ENTITLEMENT; Agamemnon felt entitled to Achilles slave girl due to being deprived of his own. This was a PROVOCATION and INSULT, but Achilles was forced
to surrender Briseis, based on advice from Athena goddess of battle strategy and wisdom. However, this also caused Achilles to withdraw from service in the war all together, with disastrous consequences and losses for the Greeks. It was only after Agamemnon realised Achilles’ importance in winning the war, that he sent ambassadors offering him bribes in the form of riches, which Achilles refused. When Odysseus, Ajax, and Phoenix visit Achilles to negotiate her return in book 9 of the Iliad, Achilles referred to Briseis as his wife or his bride, and lamented his loss, as well as the INGRATITUDE for his highly valuable contribution to the war, and how servicing his own lust commander of war Agamemnon put the INJUSTICE on display like an immature child meaning to injure. This was much like the choice that Paris made in The Judgement of Paris, to service his own LUST, that started all the discord, instead of making a wise choice to service the task he had been given as adjudicator; it’s immature and completely out of place.
Jealous Agamemnon didn’t want this DEEP HAPPINESS and MUTUAL CHEMISTRY, for he had to give up his slave girl Chryseis. He wanted what Achilles had, and was willing to stuff it up for him for self-satisfaction; its the polarity between being satisfied by true love, or superficial acquision that gave that ‘feel good victory’ that is all too fleeting... The energetic entanglement was an abomination.
Achilles professed to have loved Briseis as much as any man loves his wife, at one point using Menelaus and Helen to complain about the INJUSTICE of his "wife" being taken from him.
Agamemnon had to forget his HUBRIS and reconcile with Achilles realising how his scheme BACKFIRED, but Achilles rejected the reconciliation with him, and thus the Heroic Code as well. Agamemnon returned stolen slave girl Briseis, and swore that he had never slept with her, but still received a rebuff. Achilles seemed to have experienced a massive internal PARADIGM SHIFT during this time of absence from the war. Achilles had started to wonder why he was fighting a war without purpose, and why humans and the gods were so violent. He was acutely aware that the result of the violence and anger in the world, caused immense suffering for all. He was questioning why he should feed into it, and saw how MANAGING EXPECTATIONS by his withdrawal, might help restore balance, else there be a bottomless pit of in-denial fools wearing blinders, in a fog of HUBRIS. Not long after, the Greeks were facing massive defeat and death in battle and it seemed they would lose the Trojan War…
Many tried to influence Achilles to return to battle, but he stubbornly refused. Eventually Achilles sent Patroclus as DECOY in his sacred armour to make everyone think that Achilles was back, however Patroclus was not Achilles. (The fake version was not the authentic energetic version, despite having the appearance of it.) Despite wearing Achilles’ armour, this did not protect Patroclus from death… With Briseis back, the feud with Agamemnon over, and Achilles now raging with severe anger and grief, he turned back to the war, with his inner turmoil now at the very maximum…
In the movie Troy with Brad Pitt, one of the Achaean warlords are seen expressing gratitude or relief for Patroclus dying, so that the stalemate be broken.
Everyone with a VESTED INTEREST in the war, wanted to USE Achilles’ abundant, fruitful energy, to fuel their own agendas, and this was a SLOW POISON for Achilles; knowing these cold, greed-filled, dishonourable warmongers did not have his best interest at heart, despite him helping them. This is Eris in astrology energy…
Wikipedia explains that after the death of Patroclus, Achilles was enraged with grief over the loss of his closest friend and brother in arms. He took to the field, killing so many that he was “choking up the rivers with all the men he had killed”.
Some tried to restrain him but Zeus himself only acted when he was getting too close to Troy, "so that he will not go on to sack Troy itself before the time allotted for its destruction". Why would the King of Olympus say that? Zeus had a political plan from the very beginning for all of this to happen… He was the artifice mastermind behind the Trojan war after all… Zeus was the wolf in sheep’s clothing with a hidden agenda… who didn’t want to be seen… nor have his energy read…
It seemed that the unhindered rage and fury of Achilles, left to go on and on, had the potential to defy fate itself.
He would keep fighting and killing until he found Hector Prince of Troy who was responsible for the death of his friend… By now Achilles had accepted the prospect of death, and the fate of death, as fair price for avenging Patroclus, and despite his paradigm shift, he could not rid himself of the DISCORD IN HIS HEART. This prolonging of the immense SUFFERING that everyone was going through in those last few weeks, as they watched the killings, is a metaphor for the massive collateral damage taken as Eris transits draw out, without conclusion, nor inner resolution reached, as the internal disaster of painful emotions and discord of the heart sows a path of destruction in lives.
Homer in the Iliad, describes the approach of Achilles toward Troy in these words:
Sirius rises late in the dark, liquid sky
On summer nights, star of stars,
Orion's Dog they call it, brightest
Of all, but an evil portent, bringing heat
And fevers to suffering humanity.
The ancient Greeks observed that the star Sirius heralded the hot and dry summer, and was knows as the brightest star seen from Earth. Owing to its brightness, Sirius would have been seen to twinkle more in the unsettled weather conditions of early summer. To Greek observers, this signified emanations that caused its malignant influence. Anyone suffering its effects was said to be "star-struck". It was described as "burning" or "flaming" in literature. Clearly Zeus deliberately wanted that influence and effect, to affect Achilles’ behaviour, and how he was SEEN by others… Confidence-theft is the goal for Eris lower expression.
Achilles was frantic and inconsolable about the death of his best friend, as some old painting show, and was determined that Hector must be taken out. Achilles eventually found Hector (Paris’ brother). Hector begged him not to disrespect his body after he had killed him, after which Achilles told Hector it was hopeless to expect that of him, declaring that "my rage, my fury would drive me now to hack your flesh away and eat you raw – such agonies you have caused me".
In the painting called The Triumph of Achilles by Franz von Matsch (1892), victorious Achilles is seen in his glory chariot, dragging the dead corpse of Hector towards the gates of Troy. He foully maltreated the body of Hector, who was a man of outstanding character, honour and worthy qualities (much like Achilles) but Achilles was BLINDED by his violent emotions, and did not care about the DISRESPECT or DESTRUCTION in the throws of wrath while still grieving the loss of Patroclus.
Clearly, Achilles’ ruthless slaughtering of Hector and the reckless PRE-MATURE CELEBRATION of his ‘victory’ over Hector - showing not the slightest bit of mercy - was fuelled by DISCORD IN THE HEART.
This is the wrath, anger and pain Achilles was feeling, that was turning an honourable man upside down…
These are Eris in astrology issues.
Soon thereafter, an arrow from hapless hitman Paris shot Achilles in the achilles heel. It was not an honourable win for Paris though. It was considered “unmanly” to use a bow and arrow in fighting, because a warrior did not have to be in close contact with the enemy. It was considered extremely dishonourable for a man to behave in this way, but Paris was known for not having an ounce of honour anyway.
Despite Paris’ smoke and mirrors and appearances, Paris was not a man to be proud of. Why? He wounded who was considered THE ONLY TRUE HERO in Greek society. Paris is a cheat, and so was Zeus for his manipulation, drama starting and stirring discord that would cause this wipeout. This is another metaphor for the divide and conquer energy of Eris lower expression; to take those out who are honourable, great, successful, famous and shining brightly, for a levelling down of all. Ruin and disgrace all around. The incident with the stealing of slave girl Briseis, and Agamemnon’s act of trying to prove himself superior, while dishonouring Achilles, are what
first led to Achilles’ alienation from the Greeks, and eventually human society. Then it was his paradigm shift about the true intentions of the gods and humanity being so violent, DISHONOURABLE, DEFAMING and PLAYING DIRTY, turning people against one another, that brought him conflict. Yet, in the end, in the assuaging of Achilles’ wrath, this led to his reconciliation with, and reintegration into the Greek community as a hero, and also with all of humanity, because this journey with anger against the MENTALLY IMBALANCED status quo THAT WANTS SUFFERING resonates deeply. It’s knowing what it feels like to experience what Achilles went through on some fundamental level… to be helpful to narcissistic users who care nothing for one’s wellbeing. The dynamics behind this energy harvesting become evident in part 9.
Ironically, Achilles is the only epic hero in the Iliad, which brought strange fulfilment to the prediction of oracle Themis, that Thetis would bear a son mightier than his father, or surpass his father in glory.
The irony…
Achilles was the greatest of all the Greek warriors, and clearly had the inner qualities and merit… A hero is a person who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. It was prophesied that the Greeks could not win the war against Troy without this decorated hero. Achilles was physically invulnerable, braver and stronger than everyone else. His glory is a high distinction for notable achievements that he rightfully took great pride and pleasure in. The Trojan War did end The Age of Heroes though, as all the heroes on both sides were taken out, just as Zeus wanted.
The mythology around Eris describes Eris energy well, but from multiple points of view.
Goddess Eris was the truth-seer, potential whistleblower and information leaker that Zeus wanted to silence, but she is just an aspect of the many complexities around the situation that involve ill-intentions to create certain consequences…
Achilles was the perfect example of an admired, honourable, accomplished and empathic person, shining in his career, and that authenticity bothering someone.
According to Wikipedia, Achilles' name can be analysed as a combination of "distress, pain, sorrow, grief" and "people, soldiers, nation", resulting in a proto-form "he who has the people distressed" or "he whose people have distress". The grief or distress of the people is a theme raised numerous times in the Iliad (and frequently by Achilles himself). Achilles' role as the hero of grief or distress forms an ironic double meaning: when the hero is functioning rightly, his men bring distress to the enemy, but when wrongly, his men get the grief of war. The poem is in part about the misdirection of anger on the part of leadership.
Eris and Achilles were both authentic social justice heroes.
This article and others shows just how much suffering Zeus put these two people through. King of Olympus Zeus wanted to be seen in the right way with ‘appearances’, but was self-serving in position of leadership that he abused.
Dwarf planet Eris energy in astrology isn’t just about goddess Eris, it’s about complex RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS.
It’s about the leader of the PATRIARCHY and several players invested in that unfair system to level everyone down, and the acquisitions they sought to acquire with the scheming, lying, cheating etc. regarding honourable, accomplished people with a strong spirit and heart, whom they see as a threat to their own faustian bargain lifestyle rooted in the lower vibrational.
This is the jealous dynamic of wanting what another had EARNED, and if they can’t get the rewards, making sure that the envied don’t get it either.
There is always going to be a disadvantaged party, because of the Eris juxtaposition… This is because of the power struggles, envy, deception, and feelings of malice in the
heart of a party with a big Eris problem. At this point it becomes clear that Zeus had been waiting for the activation of Achilles’ weak point.
The planning of the strife with clairvoyant Themis, that would end up in the Trojan War, had all been to see his achilles heel trip him and everyone else up. What would make the mighty hero, who have high standards and a vision for the future, who advocates for truth and social justice, fall and be disgraced?
Shining Brightly in One’s Own Authentic Light, not the Persona, Illusion or Appearance of Merit Snatched from Another
Cosmic law and order is actually really simple, and this features heavily in Eris energy.
Brightest start Sirius and social justice Varuna are at the apex of a Yod in Eris’ discovery chart, with the Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house at the reaction point. A yod is the finger of god, or the finger of fate; it’s potent energy in astrology, so potent that an entire online course was dedicated to this aspect pattern. The Sun is representative of illumination in the house of career and public standing. Illuminating the truth about true character, moral fibre, work ethic, and the inner qualities that come through trial and tribulation. Being tested by fire, and being found to have SUBSTANCE, WORTH and MERIT. The Sun represents deep, happy wish fulfilment from inner resources, and shining so brightly that it is seen. The Iliad was written in a time where SEXISM was a huge problem. Homosexual relations seems to have existed, but women in particular were discriminated against, especially when seen as a PRIZE OF WAR. This won’t be discussed in this article, but the mention of Varuna as it opposes the Sun in the Boomerang Yod, is certainly a massive signature for social justice and the rights of women who shine brightly based on true merit.
The Yod pictured above has another layer, that puts another interesting spin on this situation…. Clearly the Sun in Capricorn is a major focal point in Eris’ discovery chart. The Sun is at the apex of the reaction point in the Boomerang Yod, but the Sun is also part of a Grand Cross of tension, in opposition to Kuiper belt object Varuna. The Sun also squares Jupiter, as the challenge from the ego, and Eris as the challenge from jealousy, envy and insecurity (that Eris entails in general). The Sun here is also of illumination of one’s PERSONA. Why? According to this online dictionary, a persona is the image or personality that a person presents in public or in a specific setting—as opposed to their true self. In the psychology of C. G. Jung, the mask or façade is presented to satisfy the demands of the situation, or the environment, and not representing the inner personality of the individual. It's the public personality. In astrology, the Sun represents the Self, identity, one's way of being in the world. It can represent, on different levels, both the ego, the higher Self or soul purpose. It rules Leo and is exalted in Aries. It also rules the heart and matters of the heart. Eris energy is ALL ABOUT matters of the heart and following the wisdom of the open, healed heart.
Shining brightly in the house of triumph, achievement, and also wearing public persona masks, are clearly vital elements in Eris energy, as the Eris juxtaposition.
The problem with wearing masks constantly, is that the true Self get forgotten or buried as one has to deal with the powerful energy dynamic that flows in the Boomerang Yod (the online course explains this challenge in great detail) during Eris transits.
In the negative expression, this immense focus on the Sun can lead to the desire and temptation of an impersonator presenting the APPEARANCE in polite society, of being worthy of the accolades or jewels that another had worked for, that they had stolen from, defamed or blocked. Identity theft.
This is about highjacking the sunlight or limelight that is rightfully another’s and basking in its glory, while in the delusional bubble of being WORTHY of it.
However, when the light of truth of this Boomerang Yod is shone on this dishonesty and lack of integrity, it results in DISHONOUR and SHAME due to having tried to ‘live off’ another person’s hard work or blessings unrighteously. It’s having created an illusion regarding identity, to take a gain. Revelation of truth is an Eris issue, and everyone eventually sees the spoilt and entitled gold digger for who they really are… thanks to the powerful direction of energy in the Boomerang Yod.
Eris transits may be long, but it doesn’t allow a person to get away with falsehoods. Social justice will be served as the light of truth and clarity are illuminated.
This is how people dig their own graves during Eris transits; by just being inauthentic, lying or having bad intentions… Yods never fail to deliver consequences… especially with the Sun and Varuna bringing revelations that are meant to redeem.
A Boomerang Yod in Eris’ Discovery Chart with the Sun as Reaction Point
In the bigger picture, the 10th house is the focal point of great ATTENTION and BEING CELEBRATED, yet greatly challenged in Eris’ discovery chart, but the Sun here is the ultimate prize… The Sun is life-giving, creative, conscious energy. The Sun is light, consciousness, identity, will and expression. It represents the core essence of who a person is, their individuality, sense of self and also how a person can really shine, and be energised when they connect the human with the divine within. It’s being WORTHY of one’s own divine energy, and shining brightly in that self-perception of grand authenticity. This is not arrogance, or selfishness. This is jumping outside of the box to be true authentic Self. Achilles was a self-decorated hero. A Yod and a Boomerang Yod has a strong sense of fate connected to it, that a person having an Eris transit can access if they choose to work with the energy constructively.
The Yod reaction point receives strong directional energy on the Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house, to be blessed with personal power after having taking the long, challenging journey to reach for a summit, where one can be ambitious, but without compromising creativity, larger identity, and singularity. It entails being a unique individual with pride in a mature self-esteem that is grounded and unshakable, because you have your life together by your own effort. It entails having overcome fears, stumbling blocks related to just being authentic, and to articulate that with confidence. It means being the master of living in your own skin and the deserved satisfaction and self-fulfillment that can be had from it. Wisdom and wise council comes effortless, and there is plenty of patience to grow and endure through painful situations or trials. It’s looking within for authentic innovations and the solutions to life first and foremost. There is freedom, expansion, growth, prosperity, and independence.
The Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house is also representative of the qualities that the ENVIER wants, that brings fulfilment to the ENVIED. It’s their ideas, eccentricity, vision, originality, charisma and all the things that makes them AUTHENTIC SELF.
Moreover, it is their divine connectedness that the envier wants to steal or take away from them, by refusing to acknowledge them.
They want the envied’s rewards, but without having worked for it. They may feel entitled or spoilt to have it, and then sideswipe, battle, and elbow them out of the way to get, what is their life. But it doesn’t work that way. Just because the entitled envier say that they don’t want the deserving to have what they worked for, doesn’t make it so.
You can’t compete where you don’t compare entails that it is not possible to enjoy the rewards of another’s success, when you haven’t worked for the merit, and not having cultivated the authentic skills to maintain it. The proof is in the pudding, not in the bank robbery comedy.
VIRTUOUS Achilles' skill and accomplishments made him a hero to the Greeks. He was glowing with divine spark blueprint from within, not from what he had stolen from someone else.
Social Status: Pride and Prejudice (and Vanity), and Wisdom as a Valuable Quality
Recognising that during Eris transits the lines between PRIDE and VANITY were blurred, partly due to DRAMA STARTER Zeus who had social influence over society, and wanted to make everyone confused by instituting PREJUDICE against an innocent person with healthy heart goddess energy. So that everyone would PRE-JUDGE and publicly reject her goddess energy before getting to realise the truth. So that the fibbing players can continue to use all sorts of methods (like gaslighting, confusion, control, lies, manipulation devil energy) for self-aggrandisement to feel superior, and perpetuate the DYSFUNCTION and ILLUSION that the clout-hungry are HONOURABLE. This involves multiple misguided parties trying to injure, trap and alienate those with a strong spirit, into thinking they have no choices, no influence, and all their great fortune is lost to them; wanting to see them heartbroken for ego satisfaction.
Yet at the end of Eris transits there is clarity, regarding the difference between those who are truely
is a time of great energy and activity, where INDIVIDUALS are
vain, materialistic and ego-driven who want to ruin other’s blessings and solid foundational support systems, and those who have beautiful fair qualities, achievements, unique skill sets, and accolades worth priding themselves on. Those who may have been thrown off course by the players’s manipulation, do grow and find their renewed flow, alignment, blessings and new pathway as there are infinite divine potentials. Every human being has divinity, but some make those bad choices to stay disconnected in the illusion of separation, and have to live with the consequences of their choices to indulge in the low vibrations, by preference. How are you going to get true fulfilment from devil energy? That’s the misfortune and illusion of winning that false Eris victory, in the form of ego satisfaction that is all too short-lived indeed, as the Wheel of Fortune shows in part 9.
Eris higher expression people have the true self-love and self-trust ENDURANCE to create long, lasting satisfaction worth having, where some Eris lower expression people perhaps can only fake that inner fulfilment… for ego satisfaction towards the end of Eris transits dries up all too quickly indeed… as Eris truth and clarity demolishes lies.
Pride is a feeling of satisfaction derived from one's own goddess energy and the achievements derived from the good energy. It is a consciousness of one’s own dignity and valuable cultivated inner qualities, like having healthy self-esteem, self-respect, self-worth, self-identity, self-regard, self-love and self-trust, etc.
Vanity is an excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance of achievement, like; narcissism, self-admiration, self-obsession, etc. Eris lower expression people have a manufactured idea of themselves that is very easily threatened, which is why they then become judgemental. It entails having a self-image that is not rooted in healthy self-esteem, instead it is based in the smoke and mirrors of the ego and public image, which is very, very fragile and false indeed. This is a self-designed psychological trap that brings forth fear, desire for control and cowardice. It’s a mental imbalance and emotional entrapment as was described in part 3 and 4. Behind this is lack of self-love and plenty of self-doubt, which is why control is applied so much, and the outcome is weakness, instability and insecurity. It’s not real.
Star Status and Fame in the Social Status 10th House, in the Sign of Great Achievement
When we consider the bigger picture trajectory of the events, a grand design at work becomes clear, that does not centre around war, but on the GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT of an individual - Achilles. Despite all his imperfections, Achilles embodied Eris higher expression, thanks to the great education he had that brought his natural skills and talents into full bloom. From proper apprenticeship, he grew into his personal authority, having taken personal ownership into maturity, integrity and moral fibre.
Achilles leadership was visionary, original, authentic, divine blueprint and highly creative, thus the deserved fame.
Part 6 in this Eris Vanity Series have described in great detail the activity around the Sun in Capricorn in the 10th house in Eris’s discovery chart. The Sun is ruled by Leo, and Achilles were given the epitet “Lion-hearted”. The Sun is at the reaction point of a Boomerang Yod as illustrated, and also part of a grand cross aspect pattern. It is one of the signature of the potential to shine brightly. Healthy PRIDE is the accumulation of the Sun in the house of achievement, earnings and how one is viewed in the world, having overcome great obstacles and challenges (Saturnian hard work), to achieve great heights of glory. The Sun here is also representative of the natural talents, abilities and gifts that people have, that has the potential to make them well-known, upstanding, and famous. These are the self-appointed authority figures who rise as opposition with criticism, to deny the querent their deserved reward of honour, recognition and accolades. The reality around both Chiron and the Sun in the 10th house is that one person’s happiness, is creating a tense situation of emotional distress for another who wants them thwarted.
It’s sad, because it revolves around publicity in the community, and a smear campaign regarding more than one person’s image, that may turn into a public spectacle. The narcissist envies another’s mastery, which is why they don’t want them recognised or acknowledged by others, and why groups of them gang stalk as a form of psychological warfare and group gaslighting.
It’s the killjoy strategy around war, and creating plots and Trojans to take another out of the public scene.

This opposition demands that a line be drawn in the sand, because when these cold, shifty people that the Saturnian opposition represent can’t be supportive, they must be dealt with, or removed from one’s life in order to allow progress.
It is in Cronus/Kronus/Saturn’s nature to want the status quo to stay in place. To be restrictive of any offspring’s very existence, in case they oust him out of his position of leadership. The Benefit of Wisdom, Insight, Self-Understanding and Personal Growth in Socially Settings
Here it is also important to finally mention, that Peleus entrusted his son Achilles to be educated by Chiron the Centaur, to learn all manner of skills, like medicine, music, archery, hunting, and prophecy.
Achilles had shortcomings, like being stubborn, short-tempered and high-strung, thus the right influence and teacher (10th house) would guide the boy into responsible, honourable manhood. Having cultivated a STRONG SPIRIT TO SHINE BRIGHTLY.
Wise, patient and highly unique teacher Chiron would have shared all that he had learnt from his own inner wounding, like healing and alchemising the insecurities disadvantage, and the benefits of having a balanced, healthy ego.
Chiron’s wise education would help Achilles fulfil his own destiny, as Achilles did in his career, as a warrior with a noble, faithful, compassionate heart… known through the ages as the only epic hero of the Iliad. This is a metaphor for how important the energy of Chiron is in order to move from Eris lower to higher expression in psychological astrology.
These are the worthy inner qualities that provide genuine PRIDE and enjoyment of a life worth living. Achilles learnt from Chiron, to be able to go within for quiet contemplation and wisdom, and give wise council to others in turn, from a place of inner achievement, SHINING BRIGHTLY.

There is a fundamental difference between a contemporary hero, and an ancient Greek hero.
In literature, there are two types of heroes, epic and tragic. An epic hero reflects their society’s values, IMMORTALISED in the eyes of the people, and shows courage in the face of adverse situations. Achilles is an epic hero because he embodied the honor that was so highly regarded in Greek society, chose to die early in battle, and be remembered gloriously rather than living a long anonymous life in his homeland.
Honourable Usage of Position Versus Dominion Over Others
Authentic Achilles was in a position of power, regarded highly, and handled it responsibly, which makes it easier to see why scheming, insecure Zeus was not quite the honourable, nor virtuous hero in this story...
What made Achilles stand out was his extreme expression of the heroic codes, with a unique degree of insight and self-knowledge. He questioned the status quo and patriarchy, where others would not. The weird part was that he had good intentions, but the one who staged this whole scenario wanted everyone strained, stressed and ended, to have DOMINION over everyone. This is the Eris juxtaposition of friend and foe, protagonist and antagonist, empath and narcissist etc.
In ancient Greece, a hero was not necessarily virtuous morally, flawless in ethics, well-mannered or unable to do anything wrong. A hero was just as flawed (if not more) than common people and would often have one fatal weakness that he would have to surpass to achieve what translates as “POST-MORTEM FAME” which is a sense of GREAT PRAISE and GLORY. Achilles was able to do this thanks to his education with wise wounded healer Chiron, Athena, and with his mother’s help. He did show qualities of calm, level-headedness, generosity and sympathy in challenging times, despite becoming mad with grief at the relationship f*****y.

Those who study Homer’s work have been debating over who won the war for the Greeks. In Homer’s Odyssey 8, it is questioned if it was MIGHT or ARTIFICE that won it for the Greeks. Was it Achilles’ powerful body, the aim and kinetic energy of his Pelian ash spear that brought down Hector prince of Troy? When Hector fell, Troy was doomed. Or was it the Hollow Trojan Horse that Odysseus devised? Troy stood its ground for perhaps another year after Hector’s death, and even after Achilles died. It was Odysseus’ deception of the hollow wooden horse filled with
the best warriors that finally penetrated Troy’s defences. Some say it was Odysseus’ strategy and cunning that won it for the Greeks. This debate is still raging in some circles. What is more important, raw force superiority, or information dominance? Firepower or manoeuvre? Heavy armour, or small, agile, special ops teams? Survivable redundancy or stealth technology? Crushing the enemy or surprising the enemy? MIGHT or ARTIFICE?
From an Eris energy in astrology point of view, it was the DISCORD IN THE HEART and the energy of the heart being so drained by the gang stalking that led to the rock bottom of the Empire of Troy.
It’s a matter of there not being any players or HOPE for new heroes left due to being all played out, as part 8 describes very eloquently in modern terms. Zeus’ plan for the destruction of Troy would also mean the end of the Age of Heroes. Part 8 is about the groups of people who are at the top of some legal social structure, group membership, business or institution who feel catered to, and then become careless and feel invincible hotheads. Perhaps betraying principles, holding grudges, or obsessively bashing others out of desire for conformity or formal doctrine, which is why the Wheel of Fortune needs to turn to bring about change and restitution.
Western civilisation as we know it are traditions and principles that have been in place for ages, born from Greek mythology. This is currently changing, with “main character energy” being a major trend for 2023, and increasingly becoming commonplace, to replace the old systems of the patriarchy.
