Chiron and the Dysfunctional Family Patterns Revealing Sibling Rivalry and Competing with the Jones’
This article is part 3 of the Chiron and the Merit Making of the Wise Mentor’s Discovery Chart Series, that looks at the discovery chart of Chiron the great teacher and instructor who had substance and character, who saw the yet unearthed sacred beauty in youths who needed his guidance and teachings, to become men of honour, of honed skills and genuine merit. Chiron had great intelligence, foresight and grace, for it takes a great man, to nurture others into greatness as well.
This information is important, as Eris conjunct Chiron in astrology, in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and understanding the dynamics of this transit, will be important to help humanity, especially since both Eris and Chiron seem to have issues around rivalry, jealousy, thievery and brutal competition for the spotlight, as is evident in both their discovery charts, with Mars in the 8th house and the Sun in the 10th. Chiron’s discovery chart tells an amazing tale that corresponds with mythology, regarding the people in his life, and what caused him pain.
Many astrologers understand the Chiron wound from an astrological point of view, but what can be extrapolated on a deeper level from the discovery chart, than what most astrologers had been exploring before, when it comes to studying the dynamics from the trans-Neptunian objects stance? Previous articles studied the biased convention where everything was about appearances, status, ostentation and wealth of the vain gods of Olympus. It was about achieving and living an opulent lifestyle, often at the expense of others. It was a judgemental situation where only few were allowed. The overly concern with materialism, position in society and rank felt stifling , because the click only cared about how things looked, while there was a massive competing with the Jones’. This lifestyle that Zeus king of the gods and jealous wife Hera tried to maintain - while also scheming, destroying and being disloyal to each other - was not INCLUSIVE of others who
perhaps had more merit, value and worth than they did. They both EXCLUDED and MARGINALISED others via their JUDGEMENTAL leadership system of control. They were both reckless in what they did to maintain power over others, within their snooty social air club, that bordered on tacky. They were driven by riches, money and good times, which is cheap; their organisation too blingey. They did not have any real taste, and lacked originality because they were just flashing their things, as if they were superior to others, who were of the same blood or genetics as them. They were superficial, vain, out of touch, and lacked subtlety. They had ‘everything’ in terms of resources, but they were not elegant, nor stylish, because they were constantly, brutishly scheming to block other people from being part of society, much less their ostentatious snobbery club. Which ironically was connected to back luck, due to the wheel of fortune spinning in the wrong direction, due to being deliberately set in motion, due to bad juju intentions and ill will against others. It’s all about who knows who, appearances, optics, networks, secrets, gaslighting others into a false version of reality, and chasing clout…
Chiron was the half man, half centaur who rose from difficult circumstances (massive rejection, isolation and wounding) into possibly one of the most principled, valued and respected men of his time, but in the LOVE OF IMPARTING HIS KNOWLEDGE, to make EXALTED men out of immature boys, he stepped on other’s toes in fake good society party scene, and stirred their INSECURITIES massively…
In the discovery chart, those who become discombobulated and went into their lower natures are some of Chiron’s half-siblings. They were Zeus (Jupiter in Roman mythology), Hades (Pluto), Hera (Zeus’ wife), Hestia (Vesta), and Demeter (Ceres).
Chiron had to learn to be very selective for whom he played hero, because there had been a lot of deception and undercurrents of chaos and trickery in Greek polite society. Individuals had been wearing masks to hide their real intentions, motivations, values and true characters, to enjoy status, affairs, publicity, opportunities and the excitement of being elevated above others socially. It was dysfunctional to say the least, because nobody was really happy… There was no empathy, nor love in the manipulative situation, only greedy, SOCIALLY AMBITIOUS GRAVE-DIGGING GOLD-DIGGERS, who were glad to step on other’s necks, who wanted to put good people into a cage. There were few truely kind, principled or loving people in this kind of bad gamble situation, because original, unique and empathic people often exist only on the fringe of this kind of drama and messy society, who wants rewards without effort, off the back of the hard work, diligence and endeavour of others who strive make their own lives, and those around them better.
ACHILLES
Part 1 described why everything fell apart for an entire empire during the Trojan War, due to discord in the heart stirred by INHUMANE Zeus’ arrogant rouse, to depopulate the earth, and have Achilles and Eris fall flat on their faces socially, to eliminate the COMPETITION and silence the potential WHISTLEBLOWER / TRUTH SPEAKER. Arrogant, highly intelligent, and vicious Zeus had feelings for himself, but no empathy for others, and just wanted to use them as a stepping stool or battery for his own personal gain, which depended on other’s demise. Others were supposed to be trapped, mentally scattered, ostracised and emotionally stuck for his profit, but from a certain point of view, perceptive Achilles overcame the betrayal and heartbreak, doing it in a diplomatic manner, being committed to himself, not turning in on himself as UNDERHANDED Zeus had wanted, in creating a CRUSHING ENDING for both him and Eris. The selfish, greedy, self-indulgent, over-doing, malicious thieving and scamming energy backfired…
The hedonistic fog ILLUSION was rooted in accumulating all the status, opulent wealth and recognition for excellence, which did not rightfully belong to Zeus and his empire, not even close…
Highly innovative Achilles was Chiron’s most notable student, and refused to go into a cage or a controlled environment.
He refused to submit to the APPEARANCES BULLSHIT threatening negotiation for social power, that some are more superior to others, in feeling entitled to reward without effort, shutting others out, as if they don’t belong.
Achilles went ahead to fulfil the prophesy over his life, that he would be the only epic hero of the Iliad, remembered for thousands of years for his fine qualities … still talked about today… in effect crushing Zeus with poetic justice, who did not want Achilles to rise in notoriety above him.
Zeus in his toxic obsessive actions, got shamed in the event of everyone seeing Achilles’ true character and originality, thus biased Zeus was seen for his win at all cost ILL-INTENTIONS, that had been very insidious indeed. He got many in society to attached to his ATTACK agenda, and he LOST CONTROL over Achilles’ good fortune destiny, happiness, abundance and elevation. Zeus was the one who wanted to destroy the hero who helped others…
Zeus projected his fears - of another man being greater than him onto others - and the return of that covert attack projection is what he had to live with…
Zeus wanted others to be an energetic mismatch to their own blessings by stressing them out and projecting a lot of negative energy, so that they would miss out on what is rightfully theirs, yet that is what backfired… The overload of stress to cause another to loose, to tire them out, did not bring a good harvest. You reap what you sow.
Zeus had been very sure of himself, that he could prevent the prophecy of oracle Themis from becoming true, having INFLUENCED all of Greek society to think badly of both Eris and then Achilles, being in a FOG ABOUT CRUSHING THEM at first. He must have felt real stupid as society eventually realised who was the real UNDERHANDED VILLAIN all along, because Zeus had no plan B, due to being so arrogant, hubristic and sure of himself, daydreaming about what he was going to get from the heartless scheme, but instead of glory indeed, it was truth indeed. Shame indeed.
Zeus set and fell into his own ill-intentions trap, sneaking and cheating, treating other people like a commodity, trying to steal from them, refusing to see their humanity, treating them like they were a project to be studied, manipulated and extracted from.
Zeus understood PAIN when it hurt him, as was discussed in this Eris conjunct Chiron article, but he could not understand the SANCTITY OF ANOTHER’S LIFE. It’s bad judgement…
He put himself and others in a sickening fog, putting them all on a chess board, trying to block the deserving from moving forward in life and getting their rewards for their effort and dedication, in an obsessed trance. Zeus had been operating in the dark to cause a deliberate INJUSTICE and ruined his own life, based in ego. It was a choice to do the worst to another human being, and it was done in a group, called GANG STALKING. At first it seemed to work aiming this violent bubble energy at Eris, however, in aiming it at Achilles, Chiron’s most notable student, it backfired… It was sadistic… with no voice of reason in society, because they were all fired up and in a closed feedback loop, and as the situation with the Trojan War escalated, it just became more dark, more foggy, more hedonistic and confusing. With multiple parties getting satisfaction and joy from the idea of ATTACKING or CRUSHING another to obtain something valuable from them for business or growth opportunities; which is STEALING and an INJUSTICE, while in devil energy.
Both Zeus and Hera paraded around like they were good people with grand design for Greek society, but they were playing god in other’s lives and thieving their opportunities. Each made choices… for themselves and their satisfaction… for their own growth, based in their ego. They were desperate for good reputation, luxurious items, status, leadership position, power over others, etc. but without having the heart of gold…
Both had been PISSED OFF, thus indirectly and covertly trying to stuff up the heroes, of the Age of Heroes.
The ostentatious and extravagant wanted the rewards of merit that these men had strived and worked for, to be obsolete, moving in silence and pulling strings behind the scenes in order to not be seen for their ill intentions and bad actions…
During Eris transits people get to experience what it is like when dark energy and accusations swarm around you, and wants to control and consume you, to spiral out of control and have a fall from grace. It entails the secret antagonist doing it in insidious ways, riling others up with lies, while hiding in the dark, plotting. A previous article explains why Chiron energy is the witness of this evil happening to a person of worth and merit, which is called INVERSION. It’s to turn a good person - who don’t deserve it - into something as MONSTEROUS, as the MONSTERS hiding under a fake polish of social standing. It’s the dark fantasy, of someone good getting DEMOLISHED, so that the underserving can obtain the appearance of good instead.
It is also the healing and finding release from the gruelling situation, which is what both Chiron and Achilles obtained in different ways. Achilles in the fulfilment of the prophecy that he would be a man of greatness honoured for thousands of years, and Chiron in being immortalised as the brightest constellation in the night sky, a great honour indeed, as was described in part 1.
Greek mythology is known to be the very bedrock of modern civilisation, and it is only fitting then, that many answers about our currently problems, can be found there…
We need mythology, story and legend, in order to live our lives coherently.
Chiron was the wisest and most just and humane of all centaurs, serving as an instructor of the Greek heroes.
Master of the healing arts Chiron understood the benefits of wise, gentle education, encouraging reflection by looking within for self-understanding, finding stillness within, and fostering personal growth in his students, for their authentic qualities to be discovered and brought forward, and a healthy lifestyle to be embraced.
Respectable, grounded and practical Chiron shone in the social standing of fair education in the public eye as an upstanding role model, as parents entrusted him with their precious young child’s education, to be guided into maturity, responsible adulthood and potential for wealth or exaltation, in the Heroic age, as was discussed in earlier articles.
Chiron’s devotion was to be the mentor of many heroes, because he had something worthy to give, and teach valuable lessons, fostering growth and wisdom in young ones. He made worthy men out of young boys that Greek society of the time could be proud of, helping them master their skills, craft and uniqueness, becoming upstanding and exalted future leaders.
These men in time grew to understand and acknowledge the great value of Chiron’s unbiased, wise council when they were mature and leading the future of large groups of people. They grew to be also devoted to making the best choices for everyone’s benefit, not about money, frivolity, power and influence over other people, that can be abused for selfish gain.
Although the Eris blog describes Eris energy in general, the modern interpretation can be seen as Zeus being in secret competition with innovative Achilles, and in the scheming to take him out, needing to throw a good-time pinata party illusion for society, to take potential whistleblower and truth speaker Eris out as well, by bashing and blaming her for the Trojan War, which was the secret brain child of Zeus himself with Themis. With everyone satisfied that they had a scapegoat, in being furious with anger at Eris, nobody would suspect that he was the secret enemy of both Eris’ truth speaking about his character, and Achilles fulfilling the prophecy of becoming a great man indeed, loved and remembered for thousands of years. Zeus had an envy eye, and he wanted for his gluttonous indulgence to remain a secret, and for others to suffer, for the fulfilment of his satisfaction.

In Chiron’s myth, he was wounded twice: once at birth via the rejection of others, and the second time toward the end of his life when he had already gained a reputation for being a fine teacher and healer. In astrology, this represents the fact that Chiron is immortalised in the natal/birth chart in a particular position, and then at around age 50, there is a Chiron return, as asteroid, now minor planet Chiron had made one revolution around the zodiac, to return to the same spot that it was in, at birth. This is the sore spot and core wounding that is re-experienced, as Chiron can bring up a flood of emotions around this wound and serve as a time to release what's no longer serving, regarding self-doubt or unresolved pain, so that the floodgates can open for healing.
Note that this article was written in the lead up to the 8 April 2024 solar eclipse, which activated Eris conjunct Chiron, as eclipses tend to have a wide, up to 10 degree orb.
Merit Maker Chiron and the Malicious Merit Breakers in the Family Line in the Discovery Chart
Part 1 discussed the merit-maker Chiron and the merit-breakers, Zeus and Hera in detail form a mythological point of view. They were Chiron’s half-siblings and a major cause of heartbreak when it came to the men who Chiron lovingly taught, who were targeted in manipulations and battle often indirectly by these two.
This article looks at the discovery chart and how Chiron’s half-brothers and sisters feature in it.
Biological parents Cronus (Saturn) and Rhea had Hestia (Vesta), Demeter (Ceres), Hades (Pluto), Hera (Juno), Poseidon (Neptune), and Zeus (Jupiter) in wedlock, but Chiron was sired by Cronus in a brief affair with a nymph or Oceanid Philyra.
In astrology, SIBLING RIVALRY has many astrological associations, but in Chiron’s wounding, the behaviour of his siblings and their selfish conquests feature strongly, as was discussed in previous articles as well.
Part 1 explored asteroid Hera in the 10th house of Chiron’s discovery chart, as the HATER OF MERIT, yet conjunct Pluto, the MC and the North Node in Libra it is also the transformation of that hate, into having to eventually allow what is… to be, which is what happened when Achilles died and society eventually had to see what had really been going on. As well as when Zeus was persuaded and chose to immortalise Chiron as the brightest constellation in the night sky Centaurus, a great honour indeed. Despite Hera standing for anti-meritocracy, she could hardly change society’s point of view of Achilles and Chiron after the fact that they had been proven as HONOURABLE, RESPECTABLE and WORTHY OF THEIR INDIVIDUAL MERIT.
Hera wanted to put those who had something worthy to contribute to society - but were a threat to her POLITICAL INFLUENCE POSITION LIFESTYLE - shoved in the peanut gallery, just like Zeus did with Achilles and Eris. They both wanted a sick adventure off of other’s misfortune; bullying others to take their treasure.
This was due to their individual scarcity mentality and cup half full view on life, as if there was only so much to go around, thus others had to be trampled before their reach a personal victory. Hestia, or Vesta as the asteroid in astrology is also conjunct the 10th house cluster with North Node in Libra, Pluto, the MC, asteroid Hera and Venus. Hestia was the first born of Cronus (Saturn) and Rhea and was a quiet, benevolent, pacifistic, caring goddess and the most peaceful and humble deity of the Greek Pantheon, who spent most of her time at home. In ancient Greek mythology, Hestia was the virgin goddess of the hearth and the home. The gods Poseidon (Neptune) and Apollo (her brother and nephew respectively) both fell in love with Hestia and vied for her hand in marriage. But Hestia would have neither of them. Vesta in Libra and the MC cluster sextiles Neptune in Sagittarius. The cluster at the MC is also in semi-sextile to asteroid 5731 Zeus, an Apollo asteroid and near-Earth object, conjunct asteroid Achilles in Virgo. The MC cluster also trines hypothetical Uranian object Zeus at 19 degrees Aquarius. Asteroid Ceres (Demeter) squares hypothetical Uranian object Zeus in Aquarius, and they were known to have a big argument over the return of Demeter’s daughter Persephone. Also, the MC cluster squares Jupiter in Cancer (Zeus in Greek mythology. The Sun, Varda, Ixion conjunction on the 11th house cusp trines Jupiter in Cancer.
Chiron’s footprint and discovery chart is littered with familial connections from mythology in aspect to each other, and the mythology with the sins of the fathers’ twisted motivations… But Chiron did not loose his emotional bearings… despite others choosing to be in their lower nature, when he chose NOT to be in selfish, indulgent, self-satiating nature unable to see the bigger picture… Chiron was a sober, big picture man… who could also take care of the minute details… because he came from a place of love…
In its discovery chart, Chiron at 3 degrees Taurus trines Saturn, who is Cronus in astrology.
Curiously, Chiron’s orbit intersects with the orbit of both Saturn and Uranus. Saturn (Cronus) was Chiron’s father, and Uranus (Ouranus) was his grandfather, therefore it is an interesting synchronicity that Chiron is in the fourth house of its own discovery chart, which is about family linage… Chiron itself is in the asteroid belt, which exist between Jupiter and Saturn.
The fact that Chiron’s linage is so prominently featured in the discovery chart, and the orbit as the image to the rights shows, this shows that the LEGACY of sins of the fathers did influence Chiron’s life considerably, perhaps more than he would care to acknowledge.
A previous article about the wounding of Zeus, describes in great detail how Uranus first ruled as the ‘master of the universe’, but how he hid his children on Tartarus - the deepest, darkest place in earth - and prevented them from being seen in the world. Then, his son Cronus dethroned Uranus, but became a worse version of his father, in the form of re-confining some of his siblings in Tartarus, and also swallowing (devouring) all his children, except for hidden child Zeus, to prevent them from overthrowing him as ruler. When Zeus, who had remained hidden from his father became an adult, he then riled up a scheme to overthrow his unprincipled father Cronus, to become the leader of Olympus. Zeus as leader, was an even greater schemer, stalker and resident asshole, and the article details how he too had a deep fear of being dethroned by his own children, which is why he schemed the Trojan War with Themis, to take out Achilles. Why? Because a prophecy foretold that Achilles would become greater than his father. This fear of someone else outshining Zeus (being loved and supported by society), drove him to do MONSTEROUS things to his own offspring, other innocent people, and take actions that would effect the entire earth negatively, also ending the Age of Heroes.
People in Chiron’s family were being kept or made small by manipulative bad habits and energy stealing, so that another can have their forced gluttonous indulgence from another’s wealth, as inherited riches. It’s not fair, and there are bad consequences when disadvantaging others…
In the end Chiron did not have to fight, brawl or compete with anyone, he just allowed his own abundant energy to bring him blessings. Like his adoptive duo Apollo and Artemis being generous to him, when his own ostentatious, shallow family were determined to be operating from the ego, dismissive, cruel, abandoning of relationship with him, and in ignorance of the toxic family patterns’ effects.
CHIRON
The CHIRON WOUND is the sins of the fathers visiting the children. Why? Because it was the actions of the ruthless forefathers, that rippled into the lives of others, causing them pain and heartbreak.
When the age of heroes came to an end, immortal Chiron could no longer live with the pain of the hydra’s venom, for which the symbolism was explained in part 1, that Zeus was convinced to immortalise him as the constellation Centaurus, a great honour indeed, for a great man… who turned the key to enable the growth and empowerment of other people, without trying to annihilate them up out of jealousy, ego, fears or insecurity, not perpetuating the sins of the fathers, showing that it could be done…
Chiron showed that one need not be the asshole that perpetuates or projects the generational wounding, illusions or dysfunctions of the past, to win at all cost against another, and make them the loser.
Chiron lived a life that showed that just because one had been rejected, deeply wounded, covertly attacked or hurt, one need not stay small from the experience… You reap what you sow… so heal your heart and put your energy investment into the right things and right intentions…
Due to his excellent education from Apollo and his sister Artemis, Chiron learnt to OVERCOME not only being associated with the appearance and bad characteristics of a centaur (lusty and driven by appearance, money, and party time clout), and being pre-judged for being just as bawdy, lower nature and unintelligent as them.
Chiron also OVERCAME the bad heritage linage of Uranus, Cronus and how their mistakes shaped Zeus into becoming even more dysfunctional than they were. Chiron chose to rise above it all, into a man of great character, high honour and merit, who could also inspire greatness in others. That is greatness indeed… not sitting on some stupid pedestal based on bad intentions and false perceptions…
