Neptune in Pisces, the 29th degree and Rain, Flash Flooding, Floods and Material Loss

Neptune first entered its home sign Pisces in April 2011 with massive rainfalls. There was also significant rainfall in Australia, especially when Jupiter and Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces around February - April 2022, called the 2022 Eastern Australia Floods, which was one of Australia’s most expensive floods.

Neptune will leave home sign Pisces and the critical 29th degree for the last time in January 2026… but before then, expect a lot more rain, for the anarectic degree is likely to entail more episodes of deluge and sensitivity by nature…

Neptune will visit 29 degrees Pisces for the first time early May 2024, to stay there until early September 2024. In March 2025 Neptune re-enters the 29th degree including its first toe dip into new zodiac sign Aries. Neptune enters the 29th degree again in October 2025, for it to finally leave in January 2026.

Multiple articles in the Gonggong blog have already looked extensively at the kind of ‘once in a century’ disasters, that include excessive floods, rain, and water saturated soils in general, that cause landslides, as Neptune and trans-Neptunian object Gonggong have both been at play during the same disastrous events. Australians are used to flash flooding as this video shows, however, some years are much worse than others, and there are patterns repeating in the astrology that coincides with these… Many of the Gonggong articles focussed on the detailed astrological significance as it pertains to some of Brisbane, and also Queensland, and New South Wales, Australia’s biggest flood disasters. This article, will look a bit bigger at what is going on with Neptune’s influence…

SE Queensland Hit with Flash Flooding as Australia Projected to Brace for Return of La Niña in 2024

Parts of south-east Queensland have been hit with wild weather as 300 millimetres of rainfall has dropped in three hours, on the 30th of January 2023. The intense weather has caused flash flooding, damaging homes and cutting off communities in the region, see the video below. This comes just a few weeks after eastern, south eastern Australia, and Victoria, Australia has been hit for the with some of the heaviest rain, severe thunderstorms, water saturated soils, and flash flood disasters back to back at the end of 2023. Christmas and Boxing day were both tragic for Australians on multiple levels, and the Australian Defence Force were deployed to assist with storm relief. More severe rain fell on New Years Day in areas like South East Queensland with a 350mm deluge. Curiously, Britian, France and Germany had also been water saturated at the same time, as was detailed in this Gonggong article.

At the writing of this article, Neptune is at 25 degrees Pisces in the last decan of its home sign. However, Saturn in Pisces, that had been retrograding over Gonggong in the early degrees of Pisces, is now direct have moved to conjunct Gonggong again. Saturn is at 6 degrees and Gonggong is at 5 degrees Pisces, ACTIVATING the energies of the Gonggong Yod by transit to the apex planet. Gonggong is at the apex of a yod that first went into close orb some years ago, and will continue to, but is not currently in tight orb, as both faster moving MakeMake in Libra and Varuna in Leo in sextile is out of orb, to return later. Astrologer enthusiasts tend to understand how the transits of trans-personal planets, like Uranus, Neptune and Pluto work, but they tend to get lost in the sauce when it comes to the trans-Neptunian objects, that move sooo much slower. Sedna in Taurus is currently in the 29th degree…

Neptune in Pisces

Neptune in Pisces History: Neptune Entered Pisces April 2011

2010 was recorded as the state of Queensland, Australia’s wettest spring since 1900, and the Australian continent's third-wettest year, which is interesting as Neptune first moved into Pisces in April 2011, its watery home sign, while conjunct Gonggong and Chiron, and most astrologers know what that means… lots of water issues… and conjunct Gonggong… watery disaster…

Curiously, Neptune had still been in Aquarius in 2010, but in the last decan, in the last degrees. Here it is important to note that Aquarius, the sign of the water bearer, is an air sign, but it is important to remember that it is also the sign of ‘water in the air’… Since then, similar flooding disasters took place in Queensland, like the 2022 disaster, and now more towards the end of 2023 and early 2024.

According to Wikipedia, flooding was widespread across Queensland and New South Wales from the end of December 2010 to January 2011 with several separate rain events causing rivers to rise over a lengthy period. The floods forced the evacuation of thousands of people from towns and cities. At least 90 towns and over 200,000 people were affected. Damage initially was estimated at A$1 billion before it was raised to $2.38 billion. The estimated reduction in Australia's GDP is about A$30 billion. As of March 2012, there were 33 deaths attributed to the floods, with a further three people still missing. Three-quarters of the council areas within the state of Queensland were declared disaster zones. In January - March 2011, Haumea in Libra squared Varuna in Cancer, making a Hammer of Thor apex on Gonggong in Pisces conjunct Chiron and Neptune, which is why this rain event is not only due to Neptune newly arrived in Pisces.

2022 Eastern Australia Floods Floods Under the Gonggong Yod and Jupiter conjunct Neptune in Pisces

Neptune was in its home sign Pisces, however, in traditional astrology, Jupiter is also ruled by Pisces, therefore this remarkable event was doubly significant…

Wikipedia details a series of floods called the 2022 Eastern Australia Floods with the worst being between 23 February - 7 April 2022. In Brisbane 177 suburbs were impacted with more than 23,000 homes inundated, but the greatest impact and damage was throughout South-east Queensland. It was one of the nation's worst recorded flood disasters with a series of floods that occurred from late February to early May in South East Queensland, the Wide Bay–Burnett and parts of coastal New South Wales. Brisbane suffered major flooding, along with the cities of Maryborough, Gympie, the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Toowoomba, Gatton, Ipswich, Logan City, the Gold Coast, Murwillumbah, Mullumbimby, Grafton, Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore, the Central Coast and parts of Sydney.

The astrology around April 2022 was rather remarkable and special, with the Venus, Jupiter and Neptune conjunction in Pisces and the five pointed star in the astrological sky made by four yods, as the gallery indicates.

Australia’s Most Expensive Floods 2019-2022 and Planets in the 15 degrees Midpoint of its Zodiac Sign

In 2018 and 2019, the planet Neptune reached its MIDPOINT of 15 degrees in Pisces, which usually accompany a heightened version of the kind of events associated with the planet and the zodiac sign it’s in, Pisces. If you observe trans-personal planets (and trans-Neptunian objects) and how they behave when they are in this 15 degrees midpoint, you will be surprised at the significance of this.

This article shows data of Australia’s most expensive floods, dated 23 February 2023, and the image below is a snapshot. This happened as Neptune was in home sign Pisces, conjunct Neptune, while Gonggong was at the apex of the Gonggong Yod.

At the heart of Gonggong energy, there seems to be a high sensitivity and orientation towards situations of uncertainty, that is rooted in an ongoing, big picture process where the final result is very difficult to predict, control, mitigate or handle appropriately when at disaster level, see the Gonggong Blog for more.

Neptune 29th Degrees Pisces, Anarectic Degree and Domocile

Just like Neptune was activated when at its midpoint in Pisces in 2018-2019, a planet in the very last degree of a sign also tend to express in a particular way…

Neptune in Pisces enters 29 degrees of Pisces in May 2024 (for four months), and due to retrograde motion, again in October 2025 (for three months), leaving for the final time in January 2026. Neptune is in its domocile (home sign) of Pisces where its energy and expression is very strong. With it moving in an out of the critical degree around the same time as the Eris square Chiron in Aries starts by wide conjunction, which is an activation, we are likely to see an increase the sensitivity, a challenge to reality, and feeling of emotional and psychic overwhelm. Also a desire to escape into fantasy due to feeling pain…

Pluto and Neptune will both be moving in and out of in the critical degrees, contributing to people perhaps feeling emotional and mentally destabilised… Sedna is currently in the 29th degree of Taurus for the very last time, and also has themes of great material loss. Sedna finally leaves the 29th degree of Taurus the bull, for her long stay in Gemini from April 2024 to 2067, for four decades. All of these entail massive shifts in consciousness.

The North Node of Fate will traverse into Pisces in January 2025, indicating that during this year long time in Pisces, having compassion for ourselves and others will be very needed and beneficial.

When a planet is at the final degree of a zodiac sign, it’s called an anarectic-, crucial-, critical degree, or “degree of fate”.

The issues at play take a desperate expression to solve the Neptunian crises at hand. There is this feeling of urgency with 29 degree planets, as if time is running out. To mature. To make it. It’s the peak in completing an important phase in the human collective, (before switching to the next sign of Aries)

It wouldn’t be wrong to define 29° as the “test degree” or “the degree of mastery”, “the gift”.

Anaretic degree and Nodes have similarities, both of them are related with fate, there will be situations to be examined, solved and win through. If the person does not learn what he has to learn, he will definitely experience some sort of crisis; but if he has, he will continue from this “peak” and accomplish a fateful mission. Therefore, just like the difficulties and patterns start to resolve easier in our lives, when we fully understand and continue our path through our North Nodes; the planets, cusps, and even asteroids in 29° are the indicators of where the “change” and the “transformation” will occur in our lives.

We are seeing an astonishing amount of outer planets, and trans-Neptunian objects move into new zodiac signs at this time. This entails a massive shift of energy as these planets and objects move through the crisis or anarectic degree of their respective signs, which entail massive societal changes, because at the end of a zodiac sign, these objects revisit the worse characteristics of the planet/object and signs, and asks for the issues at hand to be dealt with. See the image below for a visual glimpse into the timeframe that these planets/objects traverse the 29th degree of their respective signs. It’s a beautiful synchronised dance, that entails these objects making potent aspect patterns, like the four yods and multiple hammer of Thor aspect patterns, as well as the visual five pointed star in the astrological sky.

Australia is a large continent of extremes, and flooding is the country’s second most deadly natural disaster.

According to the video below, flooding and severe thunderstorms continue to inundate homes and threaten the lives of many in south east Queensland at the time of publishing this article. As little as 5 millimetres of rain in the space of 10 minutes can cause flash flooding, in which dry land is completely immersed in water. A severe storm can strike a hill or mountain nearby and send water running rapidly downhill towards towns and residential areas. Close to half of flood deaths occur in a vehicle, which means flash flooding can catch people off guard when they are on the road.

Neptune in Astrology and Metaphysics in Brief

It is from understanding Neptune, that one understands the trans-Neptunian objects and other objects like Sedna.

Neptune is the planet of the unseen, subtle, intangible and ethereal. It’s spirituality, inspiration, imagination, inner knowing, compassion, empathy, receptivity, awareness, heightened perceptions, and divine creativity. It’s the waters of diligent kindness, empathy, understanding and compassion.

However, when a slow moving planet, like Neptune, Pluto and object Sedna are in the very last degree of a zodiac sign, it tends to bring forth the negative qualities of that zodiac sign more strongly… and overcoming them…

This is not meant as scaremongering though as the trans-Neptunian objects bring hope, change, expanded thinking, soul purpose, and quantum leaps into our consciousness. Be aware, be kind and considerate of others, and don’t add to another’s burdens.

Take care of your Self, as the divine having a human experience that you are.
