Gonggong Massive Flooding Destroying Valuable Infrastructure and Discarding Indigenous Wisdom

In astrology, th Gonggong Yod came into 3 degree orb afforded a Yod around mid 2016 when Varuna moved into Leo, however Yods like this one are often highly pronounced when in tight orb, and towards the end of them being in tight orb.

Consider the astrology that took place when some regions in Australia experienced ‘once in a century’ type flooding, like what happened in January - March 2011, when Haumea in Libra squared Varuna in Cancer, making a Hammer of Thor apex on Gonggong in Pisces conjunct Chiron and Neptune. Soon thereafter Neptune moved into watery home sign Pisces in April 2011… it’s a recipe for a watery disaster.

In 2021 and 2022, many flooding events devastated various parts of the world, including Australia. ‘Once in a thousand years’ type flood, landslide (landslip) and flash flood events occurred when the Gonggong Yod was in tight orb with Gonggong at 4 degrees Pisces, with MakeMake at 6 degrees Libra and Varuna at 4 degrees Leo. Scenes of utter destruction appeared in the news, with devastating widespread floods in South East Queensland being the most costly flood disaster Australia has ever seen… Australia’s floods were the fourth most costly global disaster in 2022, as a disaster report showed. The floods cost $US6.6 billion ($9.6 billion), according to the global reinsurance company’s report released.

Australians had been celebrating Australia day recently, which was also the 50 year anniversary of the 1974 Brisbane Floods. This article looks at the occurrence of Gongong associated natural flood disasters in this area, for which there are examples aplenty.

The communities around Brisbane river were inundated in 1893, 1974, with the more wellknown 2011 floods, as this article explains, and again with floods in 2022 and they all involve Gonggong. According to this article, 23,400 Brisbane homes and businesses, plus 200 community groups, were flooded across 177 suburbs in February 2022, with something like 50,494 insurance claims. This article looks at the events, mitigation taken after these events, astrological significance and PRICELESS WISDOM just discarded. Why? The trans-Neptunian objects bring hope, change, expanded thinking, soul purpose, new potentials, and quantum leaps into our consciousness, therefore this is worth exploring and allowing, for we cannot continue to stuff it up and not learn anything… For more information on Gonggong in particular, see the Gonggong Blog.

1974 Brisbane ‘Once in a century‘ Flood and Gonggong conjunct Jupiter

According to Wikipedia, the stage had already been set by what started in 2023. By October 1973 most of southern Queensland’s river systems were nearing capacity, and the soil was highly water saturated too. Cyclone Wanda pushed the swollen river systems to the limit, and drew the monsoonal trough southward, providing the additional rainfall to the Brisbane River, Bremer River and Stanley River catchments to produce widespread and severe flooding. In January 1974, after three weeks of continual rain, the Brisbane River, which runs through the heart of the city, broke its banks and flooded the surrounding areas. The cyclone that produced the flood also flooded surrounding cities: Ipswich, Beenleigh, and the Gold Coast. In total, there were 16 fatalities, 300 people injured, 8,000 homes destroyed and an estimated A$980 million in damages. 13,000 properties were impacted.

According the the ephemeris, Jupiter in Aquarius had reached 12 degrees Aquarius to turn retrograde in June 1973, and by the start of October, had turned direct to move towards Gonggong at 17 degrees Aquarius opposed to MakeMake at 18 degrees Leo. Jupiter moved forwards and by the start of January 1974, it was at 14 degrees, as the three weeks of continual rain and flood hit Brisbane. The duration of the worst of the floods was between 24 - 31 January 1974, which is when Jupiter was making and exact conjunction to slow moving object Gonggong at 18 degrees. Other influences include Neptune at 9 degrees Sagittarius sextile Pluto in Libra with Quaoar and Ixion as midpoint. Neptune squared Haumea in

Virgo. The Sun was in conjunction with Salacia on the 24th of January. Faster moving planet Jupiter conjuncts slow moving trans-Neptunian object Gonggong about every 12 years and then there is rain, floods and chaos, in hindsight recognised as once in a century type flooding. And examples are plentiful, explained by the global media as Climate Change, amongst other alarmist things… With Gonggong conjunct Jupiter it is important to remember that Aquarius is the sign of the waterbearer in astrology, but Aquarius is an air sign… Aquarius in astrology is associated with ‘water in the air’… The video below and the one after it, looks at what was described as ‘once in a century’ flood.

Mitigation based on 1974 Flooding

The Wivenhoe Dam was built approximately 80 km upstream from Brisbane after the 1974 floods. The renewed awareness of the flood hazard in this rapidly growing region gave the state an opportunity to significantly re-think FLOOD MANAGEMENT AND MITIGATION PRACTICES. This opportunity was missed though… The dam would be the centre of huge controversy in later years when more floods cause similar disaster, and the authorities were criticised for holding on to too much water, instead of releasing it in time as DISASTER PREVENTION, then upon investigating also finding that the dam was capable of holding more water, which could have been withheld. Only 36 years later, the region suffered the next disaster of similar magnitude during the 2010–11 Queensland floods.

Cost of the 1974 Brisbane Flood

According to Wikipedia, the total damage in Brisbane and the surrounding areas was initially estimated at A$200 million,  but the final value was over A$980 million (1974 values), with $328 million made in insurance claims.

While not as high as the floods in the 1800s this flood is considered to have been worse due to Brisbane's rapidly increasing population at the time. Many houses were also damaged by land subsidence and land slides associated with the flooding and high rainfall, which is typical of once in a century Gonggong type disasters. The 1893 Brisbane Flood or Black February Flood

Image:1893 Brisbane flood Queen St via Wikipedia

This was not the first documented major flood of Brisbane area. Another is known as the 1893 Brisbane flood. According to Wikipdia, the Brisbane River burst its banks on three occasions in February 1893. It was the occurrence of three major floods in the same month that saw the period named "Black February". There was also a fourth flood later in the same year in June.

The flooding was responsible for around 35 deaths. The floods also forced the hospitalisation of 190 residents. The river runs through the centre of Brisbane with much of the population living in areas beside the river. It first flooded on February 6 due to a deluge associated with a tropical cyclone, called "Buninyong". However, it is important to note that the 1893 floods were preceded by two notable yet less severe floods in 1887 and 1890.

Gonggong in 14 degrees Sagittarius was opposed to Haumea at 17 degrees Gemini, conjunct Pluto and Neptune in Gemini at 8 and 7 degrees.

The year before, in 1892, Neptune had been at 11 degrees Gemini, and Pluto as close as 9 degrees, therefore they had already been in tight conjunction to Gonggong prior. Uranus is also in semi-sextile to Gonggong, with Saturn and Varuna in sextile. Ixion was in trine to Gonggong… therefore a lot of slow moving objects were close to being in the same degree as Gonggong… which is curious…

Flood Warnings and Ancestral Knowledge and Wisdom Discarded

Floods occur naturally, but now they had become a serious threat to people in this area, click to enlarge the image to the left. The clearing and developing of the land close to the water's edge essentially caused an increase in height and velocity of the rising water, and of the resulting damage. European thinking was the basis for the belief that engineering a dam could tame a river system. By 1959, it was believed that the Brisbane River system was regulated. By the 1970s, the social memory of the 1893 floods had all but vanished. This memory was refreshed by the 1974 Brisbane flood, mentioned earlier.

Curiously, the Indigenous people of the area, at the time, used to build their camps on higher ground along the rivers, aware of the dangers of floods, due to their ancestral knowledge of the land. They had warned the free settlers of the potential threat of floods, but their advice was ignored and settlements were built closer to the banks of the rivers. Read more stories here.

Mitigation based on 1893 Flooding

As a direct result of these floods the Somerset Dam was constructed beginning in 1933 and finished in 1953 as MITIGATION AGAINST THE DISASTER.

The trans-Neptunian objects, and Kuiper belt object and dwarf planets bring hope, change, expanded thinking, soul purpose, and quantum leaps into our consciousness. The TNOs and KBOs carry a groundbreaking, powerful punch energy that are worth exploring as they are very much behind the massive change we are seeing.

Had the arrogant, know it all town planners of the time heed the well intentioned warnings, GREAT WISDOM and experience of the local Aboriginal peoples, this extreme loss of valuable infrastructure and lives could have been averted, and making change might have affected future generations favourably.

However, many years later and the ego-driven still cannot give way to the wisdom of the soul connected. Why? There is so much investment of $$$ in existing infrastructure, and in keeping the value of those assets at a maximum high, that change is challenging. With Sedna in the last degrees of Taurus and Pluto in the last degrees of Capricorn, the expression of the qualities of greed, hoarding and materialism is at an all time high… It’s not hard to see why the media would rather make up a narrative about CLIMATE CHANGE for disaster preparedness, instead of pointing the finger at an obvious astrological influence at play… The ego cannot take that blow to its superiority…

At the heart of Gonggong energy, there seems to be a high sensitivity and orientation towards situations of uncertainty, that is rooted in an ongoing, big picture process where the final result is very difficult to predict, control, mitigate or handle appropriately when at disaster level.

2010-2011 Queensland Floods that Cause the Flooding of Brisbane

Heavy rain in March 2010 saw much of south western and central Queensland undergo major flooding that affected some rural towns. The disasterous floods were caused by rainfall generated by a monsoon trough described by a Bureau of Meteorology forecaster as "almost like a tropical cyclone over land". This water ran into already saturated rivers and creeks in the area, also causing water saturated soils, which seem to be a commonality in Gonggong type disasters. According to Wikipedia, another series of floods hit Queensland again beginning in November 2010, and this what the water that affected thousands of houses in Ipswich and Brisbane, that were inundated as the Brisbane River rose.

2010 was also recorded as the state's wettest spring since 1900, and the Australian continent's third-wettest year, which is interesting as Neptune first moved into Pisces in April 2011, its watery home sign, and most astrologers know what that means… lots of water issues… and conjunct Gonggong… watery disaster…

NEPTUNE in HOME SIGN PISCES

Flooding was widespread across Queensland and New South Wales from the end of December 2010 to January 2011 with several separate rain events causing rivers to rise over a lengthy period. Climate scientist Kevin Trenberth thought climate change was a contributing factor in the unusually high precipitation rates. He attributed a half-degree Celsius rise in ocean temperatures around Australia to global warming (which produces extra water vapour and intensifies the monsoon). Other scientists said that it was too early to draw such a conclusion.

On the 11th of January 2011, massive releases of water from the Wivenhoe Dam produced most of the flooding in the Brisbane river and flooding of Brisbane suburbs on the river, that was witnessed nationally for days as the Australian media broadcasted the event widely for a long time, see the video above, with mismanagement of the Wivenhoe Dam cited as a major contributor.

The Flood Relief Appeal: Australia Unites telethon broadcasted by the Nine Network from South Bank Parklands raised more than A$10 million in pledged aid.

In January - March 2011, Haumea in Libra squared Varuna in Cancer, making a Hammer of Thor apex on Gonggong in Pisces conjunct Chiron and Neptune.

According to Wikipedia, the floods forced the evacuation of thousands of people from towns and cities. At least 90 towns and over 200,000 people were affected. Damage initially was estimated at A$1 billion before it was raised to $2.38 billion. The estimated reduction in Australia's GDP is about A$30 billion. As of March 2012, there were 33 deaths attributed to the floods, with a further three people still missing.

Mitigation and Flood Recovery based on the 2011 Flood

This video shows some of the trauma experienced due to total devastation and destruction of people’s lives and homes, as well as the myth that Brisbane was FLOOD PROOF. It gives a visual explanation of what happened as multiple rivers, as well as the release of water from the Wivenhoe dam, inundated Brisbane rapidly. The nightmare of 1974 had returned, and did again and again…

In very rare occasions, and circumstances, like in this example, some communities can benefit from government buyback schemes. A community in Sherwood, Brisbane, Australia was affected when the banks of the Brisbane river flooded certain areas where the river meandered significantly. The value of these homes were high before the floods, due to it’s proximity to the city and the beauty surrounding the river, however, approval for building in this area should never have been permitted. These communities were inundated during the 2011 floods, as this article explains, and after going under again in the 2022 floods. The Brisbane River peaked at 3.85 metres, just short of the predicted height of 4metres. Up to 18,000 homes have been flooded across the region. According to this article, there was something like 50,494 insurance claims from the 2022 floods, and in February 2022, 23,400 Brisbane homes and businesses, plus 200 community groups, were flooded across 177 suburbs.

2022 Brisbane Floods Under the Gonggong Yod and Jupiter conjunct Neptune

Wikipedia details a series of floods called the 2022 Eastern Australia Floods with the worst being between 23 February - 7 April 2022. In Brisbane 177 suburbs were impacted with more than 23,000 homes inundated, but the greatest impact and damage was throughout South-east Queensland. It was one of the nation's worst recorded flood disasters with a series of floods that occurred from late February to early May in South East Queensland, the Wide Bay–Burnett and parts of coastal New South Wales. Brisbane suffered major flooding, along with the cities of Maryborough, Gympie, the Sunshine Coast, Caboolture, Toowoomba, Gatton, Ipswich, Logan City, the Gold Coast, Murwillumbah, Mullumbimby, Grafton, Byron Bay, Ballina, Lismore, the Central Coast and parts of Sydney.

The astrology around April 2022 was rather remarkable and special, with the Venus, Jupiter and Neptune conjunction in Pisces and the five pointed star in the astrological sky made by four yods, as the gallery indicates.

Australia’s Most Expensive Floods in Astrology 2022 and the Powerful Directional Energies of a Yod

The Gonggong Yod, with Gonggong at 4 degrees Pisces at the apex, and Varuna at 3 degrees Leo sextile MakeMake at 6 degrees Libra was in effect in 2022.

Jupiter and Venus was also conjunct Neptune in Pisces.

This article shows data of Australia’s most expensive floods, dated 23 February 2023, and the image below is a snapshot. These all happened as Neptune was in home sign Pisces, while Gonggong was at the apex of the Gonggong Yod.
